Personal First Descent - Wilson Creek Gorge

Running a river for the first time is a magical experience. I have found nothing outside the construct of extreme sport that compares to the way a first run on a river does. Even more so, a river that is a level up in a paddlers progression. While kayaking Wilson Creek Gorge is nothing new to me, it just never gets old. Another thing that never gets old is taking folks down a river and watching their eyes take it all in for the first time. Running a river for the first time is a magical experience. Even more so, is running a river that is a level up in a paddlers progression. Wilson Creek is one of those southeast classic rivers that I consider to be a gateway to the magical world of Creeking and class 4 kayaking. Come along as Anthony and Steve wind chart their first path though the gorge on a picture perfect day!

Sweet video, would love to get on that creek one day. Probably a bit of a drive from Oregon. I grew up in the southeast but didn't pick up paddling till I moved to the PNW, but who wants to paddle in water that isn't super cold. Anyways, always enjoy your videos, if your ever in the Columbia Gorge area shoot me a message, would be glad to take you down middle, lower or lower-lower White Salmon.

Another great content video with plenty of excitement. Favorite lines: "Rumor has it that real men go down this backwards." and "Just don't go sideways off of any of it. You'll be stuck for a second, you're not going to die there, but it'll funny for the rest of us."

I am learning so much from watching these videos. At 18:34 I would never have considered a ferry across that. It looked like very fast moving water but you demonstrated how easy it is with your coaching. Awesome video! Great work you all

"As long as your upright, it's probably gonna end up just fine", lol. Beck at his best. ;-) Steve crushed it. Really enjoyed watching his rolls and holding out for t-rescues. Even when it didn't work out, that's the sign of controlling the mental game being upside down. Anthony's slow-motion slide was epic cinematography. What a beautiful place to be. Great job, Pete. I liked this level. Can't wait until it's my turn.
