A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010) Soundtrack Suite

Спорт

This is my compilation of Steve Jablonsky's score to the reboot of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Listed below are the tracks I used, in order.
1. Main Title (0:00)
2. Freddy's Coming For You (2:14)
3. Jesse and Kris (3:03)
4. Jesse and the Police (3:58)
5. A Man Named Freddy Krueger (5:02)
6. Research (8:03)
7. Boo (9:43)
8. Like It Used To Be (10:45)
9. One More Nap (15:29)
10. End Credits (From the Film) (15:58)
I do not own any copyright music from A Nightmare On Elm Street, just ownership of this suite. Purchase A Nightmare on Elm Street by Steve Jablonsky on iTunes if you liked the score. My first Jablonsky score was Transformers and it was a great score. Then they started hashing out these Horror Reboots and Platinum Dunes turned to Jablonsky to score most of them. I'm not impressed. Maybe horror scores can't be what they used to be but Scream was probably the last time I liked a new horror score. Just a lot of noise, in my humble opinion. Theme was generic, lots of stingers, lots of cello arpeggios. There are 20 tracks on the soundtrack, including one track I ripped from the film, and I used score from 10 of them. As always, comments are welcome and encouraged.

Whenever I listen to this, my brain produces images of some vast underground complex with iron walls, filled with strange machinery and pillars of intertwining pipes reaching up to a far away ceiling. There are clear signs humans once worked there, but it is all empty, the only population being seacreatures within gravity defying lakes and a small number of trees, all of which are hooked up to the machines, which themselves are connected via wires snaking around the walls and floor. And at the bottom of it all lies a gigantic sea littered with broken robotic servants. I’ve never seen the movie and I’ve only heard bits of the plot, but the music is an experience in of itself.

Quick Musical/ movie analysis: Actually, I really like the effects and backrounds they put in this remake, because in all the movies, it was the best *visually* to me. This Freddy was really different so it seemed weird to a lot of people but in real life, what would you expect? There is no funny killer this time, only a revengeful burnt man with the darkest voice and fetishes here. As huge ANOES fan, I really think they did an amazing job revisiting the franchise and composing such a great OST, with different instruments, to make it different and very meaningful. For exemple, listen to the music at the beginning, it only has instruments and no voices. This is the protagonists' point of view on their first meeting with Freddy, he's scary to death with them, and that's pretty much ALL they know. And then come the kid's ghosty voices. The music makes us think about some kind of "hope" for Freddy, because his themes begin to sound angelic, and knowing the story is told from the good guys' pdv, it is certainly connected to the moment they learn about Freddy's past with kids and how they think he could have been innocent. (he is in fact, definitely guilty). And finally, his themes change again at the very end once the protagonists realized they were all wrong and the parents were telling the truth, and all the "hope" in Freddy's themes disappear when he appears as a monster. Their take was really well done to me, also because of this, even if the scenario could have been slightly better on Freddy's backstory. (Would have been good if he was really innocent this time) Plus it lowkey reminds me about TCM's (The Beginning) OST, it was awesome too :)

The problem with this film instead of writing their own scirpt they took 14 unused scripts and hybrid them together that call lazy scirpt writing.Every single quote that Freddy uses in the film comes from pretty much every A Nightmare On Elm Street film yes even Freddy Vs Jason.Instead making a unique take on the character going back to the original roots of what Freddy was before Wes ultimate change from child molester to child killer even there evidence to suggest that Freddy was both a child molester and killer. If I was write out a treatment my main focus is flashing out the characters in the film we as the audience are never meant to root for antagonist. The music reminds me of Freddy's Nightmares TV series Jackie Earle Hayley did the best he could do with a well established character it hard to capture that essence on paper.Lazy scirpt writing is what hurt the film overall I can't imagine being in a pitch meeting and hearing instead creating a treatment we just use unused ideas from previous unmade film I can hear them that brilliant.

@@wormhunter89yt74 yes, I think this Freddy was also great, but the main characters were absolutely boring, we didn't see anything new. This movie's scenario wasn't that good, even if they had a lot of money to make it come to life. The soundtrack being one of the only good and meaningful things is bittersweet !

@@Nile67676 They spent $35million hoping it would make well over $100million or more at the box office even if they increased the budget it still wouldn't make the film even more better. As Hollywood really thought by increase a budget to 100 million that some how fixes issues it creates more of a problem when 4 big budget films in a row flop and Hollywood blames internet piracy vs the fact audience was not impressed by the marketing of certain films. They can dump a lot money into marketing a film still not going to get people to see the film.I seen absolute worse marketing throughout my life take example a big name star attached to movie in their first debut role in a film and yet they not actual the main character or focus especial when they become big stars later it oh we can market it as such who cares if deceives fans. The worse is showing too much in a trailer that gives entire film I rather short simple teaser trailer the directors are not telling studios and marketing that certain things should be kept under wraps.I miss simple trailers that give us enough info.

@@wormhunter89yt74 Yeah, that's so ridiculous nowadays ! And that's why I really like older movies because they were cheap but really good, and not using celebs to turn their awful scenarios into solid sources of money. The creators cared about people and made movies for fun and entertainment mostly ! If you want a great movie, go check Spielberg's Duel for example, it's a really interesting one with a good suspense. I am really hard to impress but I really liked it. And yet, it's so simple !! :) it wasn't even made with a million dollars. THAT is the proof we don't need a lot of special effects and stuff to make good movies that make a lot of money. The first Freddy movies were good because of their creativity, but it began flopping after Dream Warriors, not gonna lie... And most horror movies today are just expensive and stupid, I don't even wonder why they flop next to the great originals. And maybe this one did too because of Freddy's lines from dusty projects, the idiotic protagonists, the lame and predictable story and all. Freddy's looks, personality and actor were the only good elements because it was a whole different take on the character, I liked it's realism. And I personnaly think the visual was AWESOME, the technology was used very well but come on, nothing compares to real creativity, the rest was bitter. We've seen better movies! Plus that's such a waste because this version of Freddy could been awesome if they did a great job on the story to make it more special, because that one was just about teens getting killed the same way while we saw awesome kills in the originals :) That is the biggest deflect I guess

@@Nile67676 The biggest problem with today horror film is lack of story originality is gone.1998 Psycho remake was a let down they did the same movie twice there was no surprise Norman Bates is mother there was no surprise when Marion Crane is killed it shot for shot of the original and shot in color which original Alfred Hitchcock Psycho was going to be in color. The studio wanted a well recognize actor in the role someone you would never think could be a killer.Alfred had to fight the studio to get the then unknown actor Anthony Perkins the censor board did not like the shower scene nor did they like Marion Crane flushing a toilet on screen and her being in her undergarments the studio said well now the film is going to be shot in black and white which is cheaper to film it in black in white then in color. Some told me Kris like Tina the first person you see in horror is general the main character which Psycho killing Marion Crane 15mins into the movie is the first to create it Tina first victim of Freddy. When people see Kris getting killed they never seen the original film and therefore have no start point or they original films are boring and dated which classic are never truly dated.Even Psycho looks amazing for 61yr old film it stays with you.Duel was a TV movie it was great movie another great movie is The Car What Drives The Car perfect tagline. Then they wait and make a sequel that takes away what The Car was and it terrible. That thing about great movies they stay with you for years most movies while become cult classic and are one hit movies should not have a sequel as they did fine being a one and done movie.I joked about the next Friday The 13Th film being a found footage they was about to green light the project.

Fun fact I'm 4 months older then Freddy Krueger himself. The year is 1988 I'm 4 years old and Freddy's Nightmares debut on network TV series I am terrified you could not convince a 4 year old that it special makeup effects to me all I seen was horrible disfigured burnt man on screen.I was not a fan of horror films I am equivalent of Sidney Prescott believing there all the same.I did not like being scared 1994 I'm 10yrs old watching the classic John Carpenter's film I always thought there was only one movie even horror section was amazing every single movie.I grew up less scared sure there certain movies that still get me.Rest in peace Wes Craven thanks for the nightmares I'm forever in debt to the maestros of horror the masters of genre even when the horror genre is consider the bastard child we as fans dedicated our lives this why remake/reboots happen because of us keeping these old film property going.

The movie is bad because in 2010 this concept 'plagued' the world for 10 years... it's not SCARY from a modern-day perspective. But, I can assure you of that back in the 80's this movie terrorised teenagers and young adults a like.

the soundtrack is better than the movie was. the actor playing freddy wasn't at all into the script (which was dogshit) and he's too tiny to be intimidating. freddy should be more imposing compared to the teens.
