He didn't want another fight with George. He offered him a rematch only if he destroyed Ken Norton again. Ali really never beat Norton convincingly.....If at all. Those judges were pretty kind to Ali. Just sayin

He is on the cover of Sports Illustrated back in the day saying he wanted Ali again. On the cover. Ali's doctor's were terrified of Ali fighting Foreman the first time. They weren't gonna allow him to fight him a second time. Ali was just jiving as he'd say. Ali was never gonna give him a rematch. He didn't wanna give fight Norton two more times either. And let's be honest. He lost both of those rematch fights. He lost all 3 to Norton. Ali never whipped Norton.

Brain damage? The first fighter was dropped with a shot that was CLEARLY blocked, and didn’t even try to throw for the last lame “knockdown”. Second dude pretended to be hurt, got in a sneaky shot on Foreman, and then stopped throwing, despite George not covering his own head at all. The “knockdown” that ended Mr. Judge wasn’t even a punch, Foreman pulled his glove and Judge went down like he was hit. The third guy was absorbing jabs and was easily knocked down by one, but then later on, after some more jabs, without even knocking Daniels down, Foreman looks at the ref and calls for the fight to end? About as far removed from a “knockout” as you can get. Fourth guy looked like they were taking a dollar off his purse for every punch he might land, and despite a record of 13 and 30, plus only throwing a half a dozen punches, he went the distance, and laughed in Foreman’s face after he got “knocked down”. The fifth guy didn’t look too bad, except he only landed a few body shots. By this time it is obvious that the fix is in, and even though the last guy supposedly had a decent record, he mostly avoided George’s head, which was wide open most of the time. Even Cosell called the fight a farce.

At that time it was like Foreman could knock you down with his eyesight alone. What a beast he was.

That was awesome! Foreman hits like a brick house. I can't imagine getting hit by him. He can pound the body and the head. Foreman is only 26 years old here. The commentator, the legendary Howard Cosell, was like "this will hardly be memoralized here today." Boy was he wrong. Three LEGENDS at this event in 1975: Howard Cosell, George Foreman, and Muhammed Ali.

It baffles me that people dipped their heads repeatedly close to his uppercut. George used his stiff arm to make you wanna dip under it, then BOOM. but NOPE! I'd try my best to find a way to fight around the jab. It's much better to avoid an uppercut that could lift you off the ground.. I'd probably try to fight in and out of the pocket on countering. Fuck staying inside where all the kinetic energy is released

Me too, after watching Big George Foreman movie I decided to search for this fight.

Awesome! Foreman deserves more credit, truly one of the greatest. Fighting five guys wow.

I got a Lotta love for Big George! And his grill kicks ass too!

Ali with a microphone yelling at the fighters is the best.

Amazing that 1st Ali beat Sonny Liston twice , then years later he beat his Protege Big George Foreman !

@igor putin actually Ali never had a rematch with Foreman because as Foreman was about to earn his rematch he lost to Jimmy Young. Ali would then beat Young in a title defence. Foreman would retire not long after. Ali actually called Foreman and asked him to come out of retirement to fight Ken Norton, so Foreman would beat Norton and Ali would give Foreman his rematch. As Ali said he just couldn't beat Norton. Ali being sincere or it being gamesmanship. I don't know. But Foreman has stated this from his own mouth. Foreman turned down Ali's request.

I think he said Ron Lyle was the hardest hitter he faced. I remember him commenting on Listons strength though.

For a big guy his timing and speed was amazing. It is like they informed him of where their heads would be at all times. His glove was there waiting for them.

One of the best heavyweights of all time that might have been forgotten by most if he didn't come back and reclaim his title 20 years later, as the oldest world champion ever. Victim of bad promotion management and terrible public relations, but mainly the political and social situation in the States during his prime. He refused to answer the call of the black community for a boycott (due to the Vietnam War) of the '68 Mexico Olympics, winning the gold medal but not the respect and love of the people. Lost his 1st title to the great Mohamed Ali, who never gave him the rematch he deserved. This particular set of fights happened in Toronto a few months after Foreman lost his title to Ali, at the peak of their rivalry, as Foreman was struggling to prove himself worthy of a title shot, to himself and doubters alike. He quit boxing 2 years later, to become an evangelist for the next 10 years before his (mocked by the public and experts) amazing return.

I live near Toronto now but was only 11 years old when that fight took place, but watched with my Dad whom Loved to watch every boxing match and I became a boxer but due to eye damage had to stop fighting but still like to watch the Greats From Years Past,And The Huge Monsters Of Men Nowadays lol, Always Will Watch The Oldies And The New,All Is Good.God Bless Everyone Whom Reads This.

Back in the day when there wasn't a strong gym or steroid culture, George was one hell of a big guy. What's scary is, he looks so chill in his movements that you wouldn't expect the force of a gorilla in each puch.

My uncle Ray Ray and Pastor Foreman live two blocks from one another and I gotta say that he’s one of the nicest people you could ever meet and talk to. Such a wonderful and sweet disposition.

I remember seeing this referred on a long ago HBO special about the history of sports broadcasting, it seemed crazy then but glad to see this decades later! Thank you!

It’s the first l’ve heard of this. Five fights, one after another! Nowadays they won’t do more than one fight every 18 months. George Foreman was the best ever and a nice bloke as well.

That took a lot of stamina. He may have been out of shape as the announcer mentioned, but I don’t know too many boxer today that would take a match with five opponents.. great video thanks.

Foreman-Polite is my favorite fight of all time. Especially when George goes into a windup before punching, and then again when Polite waves his glove and laughs after slipping to the canvas. Great stuff!

George was also about 50 pounds heavier than most of his opponents, that had to have given him a little advantage.

Shavers (RIP) was heavy handed for sure. But I ain't never seen Shavers lift anyone off the canvas with a punch like Foreman did Frazier.

Howard Cosell putting him down saying its a farce but he didn't understand that they were only exhibitions so you can either take them seriously or play around. Foreman never played around in real bouts, only here with Ali winding him up from ringside.

At an old foggy boomer so I remember this. At the time everyone thought it was very bad for boxing. Too wrestling-like. I thought it was a lot of fun. These guys were all real boxers.

I never knew this spectacle happened. I came here after watching the Big George Foreman movie. George doing this to win some self confidence or whatever and Ali showing up lol. I would have loved to see this in person. !! Howard cosell and Ali in commentary seems so much fun!!. I lost my shit around 10:44 !! hahaha.

George was a Unit!! Ali is cracking me up!!

5 guys and he took it easy on all of them.

Big George was sloppy but his power is there for all to see. All those rounds and he was still winging away when the final bell went. Ali and Cosell were a great duo. Ali telling the wig wearer that he wasn't the announces he once was when he called Judge, Daniels was hilarious. Ali was on Cosell in an instant 😄

Alonzo Johnson out of retirement and 15 years past his prime. Only Boone Kirkman was a real banger and he was well past his best.
