A lovely encounter with a Radiated rat snake (Coelognathus radiatus) งูทางมะพร้าว

Recently I have been making some water pools and hides in the reforested areas of my land in Kanchanaburi. This morning I was on my way to sit at one of those hides when my attention was caught by this snake lying on the edge of the track. It stayed quiet still for about 5 minutes while I move my camera around it and got some film. Eventually, it slithered off in the direction of my water pool. Now I am hoping that perhaps one day I'll be sitting in the hide when this beauty turns up to take a drink.

Yes... I was thrilled to see it there. My camera trap nearby had shown that there were loads of rats active at night, so I wasn't too surprised to find one of the rat-eating snakes in the area. Are you able to spend time in KK at the moment. I see a lot of good stuff is being spotted and filmed..... but I don't have time to get down there..... agghhhh!

Quite possibly. This was very close to one of the artificial pools that I made and where my camera traps pick up a lot of activity from various forest rats at night. This snake would be very happy with such neighbours.
