Civets and Surprises at Rocky Pool, Kanchanaburi, Thailand
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
At the end of January 2024 I remade and enlarged Rocky Pool at Huai Khayeng Nature Park, Thong Pha Phum, Kanchanaburi province here in Thailand. We fixed a camera trap to a tree next to the pool and almost immediately wildlife started to use the pool. There was a procession of birds during the day, but this video concentrates on a few amazing denizens of the night.

Thanks so much Brian.... Isn't it fun to see what goes on at night. I have been getting some good bird life during the day, but nothing out of the ordinary, except perhaps crested goshawks visiting nearly every day for a good long drink and bath which I found very exciting. Oh... and and a leaf bird... which I'd never seen come to bathe at any of the KK bird hides.
Wow, oh my goodness, beautiful animals, thats a lucky impressive footage ! 😊✌Thank you❣

Yes.... civets are wonderful creatures. I work hard to find good locations for my camera traps and to keep them out in the field most days, so I guess I deserve a bit of luck.
great recordings, congratulations

Thank you Hans. It was great fun looking through the memory card and seeing this stuff in among the other 1,000 + clips!!!!
That was very special, lucky you, fantastic footage can only get better if you can see them from a hide in real time..Well done sir.

Thank you so much. Yes indeed, I am itching to see and film these things with my own eyes. In fact, I am so keen that immediately I finished editing this clip today I rushed out to buy a studio light, stand and soft box to see if I can start habituating the wildlife to a light that looks a bit like a full moon..... fingers crossed. I start on this weekend.
