Speed Ramping with Ants using Adobe Premiere Pro

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

On Valentine's Day this year I was in the forest, and I saw a nice column of ants moving at high speed, so I set up my camera to film in 4K at 100fps. In the edit I experimented with slowing sections of the video down 4-5 times and using speed ramping to ease into and out of the change of speed. I also sacrificed some of the quality by enlarging the original images so that I could move across the picture and zoom in a little , but given that the original was 4K I think the image has turned out with enough detail, and it is really nice to have the movement.

Aha…. I have literally just come back from that location. I got caught out in a rain shower, but managed to slip and slide my way back! Wild boar tracks everywhere on my land at the moment!!

Hello Gijs, I hope you are well. Yes, they moved so fast that I sometimes got confused about whether the slow motion was the normal speed or not!

Absolutely. They are involved in so many astonishing relationships with plants, fungi and other animals.... the mind boggles! And those are only the ones we already know.... there may be thousands of others waiting to be discovered.

And those discoveries undoubtedly beneficial to the human ..if only we had the wisdom to go down that path.
