A Great Indian Rope Trick - Performed in Belfast

Ойын-сауық

A Great Indian Rope Trick Performed by Ishamudin in Belfast with prelude by Ram Presad. In the Last shot as i zoom in on Ishamudin, you can see a male wearing a pair of sunglasses, these were mine till i lost them earlier that evening. Have you any idea how gutted i was when 3 weeks later i was capturing the footage and saw my sunnys. Shot in 16-9, i didn't resize it though. I will at some point.

I'm not sure that you accurately detailed the fairness of the trick, but here goes: The principle of the trick involves a pole being inserted into the rope from "underground," under the stage, etc. In the case of this version, the bucket was indeed lifted. It was a good "convincer" or "subtlety." However, the start of the trick involves a short pole, the person underneath sends it all the way up, the magician holds the pole and lifts that and the bucket. The pole is then exchanged for long one

Just one more thing: I'm pretty sure this magician is the same that appears on Penn & Teller's video, you can find right here under this title: The Indian Rope Trick - Penn & Teller. Greetings to all of you.

Also, it's not suspension wires, as there are plenty of versions in which the rope pushes off a basket lid.

The Tune is by Hedningarna and called Aivoton. and yes its Finnish, but both Ishamudin and myself liked the tune so decided to use it.

I've heard that it was done through the performer hypnotising the audience and then simply walking off the stage. But yeah it's surprising that this authentic recount seems to never have actually been documented.

This is the best video I've seen to this trick, for several reasons: It is performed directly on public and filmed for one of them. The magician lifts up the basket from the ground with the rope already rigid. Everything happens on an elevated stage without possibility to hide something under the floor. The girl that rise up is chosen from the audience. With all these background I wonder, where can it be the trick ?!. Greetings from Chile, and many thanks for sharing this vid. Cheers, John.

Yes! I was noticing that (the video's about halfway as I type this)! It almost sounds like Värttinä, but I can't tell for certain~

Its not a Reversed film if so the cars on the street and on the intersection above the buildings in the background would be going in reverse. Just a thought.

I'd love to know who did the music used in this video. It's Finnish, and sounds very much like Värttinä, but I know their music fairly well, and have never heard this song before. Do tell, if you know!

sorry to spoil you best thought as to this video, but no reverse editing. if the edit was reversed for the rope going up, that means that the rope went up the way it came down, which would be even more amazing.

The indian rope climbing has been exposed,in some films it appears the rope instantly rises when in fact it's reverse filmed, in slow rises it looks mechanical, it's obvious! and why the box? is it useful to attach the rope on what I suspect is a suspended wire? it's a well set up trick using suspension wires, highly tensible ones, so thin you can't see them and suspended bewtween two high points

In the great Indian rope trick a boy climbs the rope disappears is pursued by the magician who also disappears. The magician then murders the boy displays the dismembered body parts and puts them in a bag. The audience then must pray for the boys soul who and astonishingly, is completely restored to wholeness and health . Needless to say ,in spite of many claims it has never been accomplished.

wouldn't there be a pole coming up from under the stage and through a hole in the bucket?

incase you didn't notice, the person Swallowing ( i believe that is how it is spelt for your infomation ) the knifes is actually a different person to the one performing the rope trick, and being as you appear to believe in supernatural powers ??!!?? i don't think a rational conversation can go any further. enjoy your life.

It is not the GREAT rope trick. In the great one a boy climbs the rope. The rope colapses and the boy disappears... ... but very spectacular and close.

wow, you're so clever, he did in fact use sky hooks, on invisible wire that all 500+ of the audience couldn't see because it was 3 miles above their heads attached to a plane !!??!! i know how its done, it is completely obvious you don't. have fun, better luck next time.

just to sum up, ALL stage performing people, all TV appearing mediums, channeling etc, and anyone who asks publicity, fame money is fake! water car inventors are ALL fake, then there's religious phenomena, OBE and stuff, these have turned out to be weird, some are clever tricks, while some other are real, if you want to have a rational conversation I can tell you more
