Olá! Am enjoying your videos from Montana. I too will be living in central Portugal beginning mid-April. I will be renting “Casa das Xisto” that is located on a very large ecological farm near Oleiros. So looking forward to growing vegetables and the many citrus trees. Will again have chickens & a small flock of sheep (to be used as lawnmowers & for the wool), as I had a small sheep & poultry farm at one time. Look forward to following your adventures!

@@NearbyVeggies any chilli with a bit of heat will work well in chilli jam :) I've had chilli jam with both, and tthey taste equally good, as long as you can still taste some heat in the backgroud.

There’s plenty of heat. I already made some super fiery hot red chilli jam and it pairs beautifully with cheese and also with fried potatoes. 👍😊

Congratulations on the cameras. Nice program and great progress you two have. Its so nice seeing how well you both get along and stay removed from outside news and politics. We plan to grow lots of fruit and vegetables to eat share and store. Dan works full time and sometimes has to travel.

Don't you have a truck? Thought I saw one. Drive the truck over to the pile have the chipper there and grind into the truck. Then drive the truck to wherever you want chips. Seems easier then hawling and handling the tree branches twice.

Chillies are a favourite of mine.

if you cut back the peppers and keep them warm, i had mine wrapped in a poly tunnel, they will survive over winter, early peppers and huge crops next year.... ps , i think you filming is fine as it is

With regards to water purification. I use a conventional solar water heater to sterilise my water and provide hot water for normal use. Filter water first to remove sediment and tiny particles then send it to the solar water heater, no need to boil water as the solar heater does exactly that. The volume calculations on the board, Pie*r^2 triggered a old maths joke, "Pie 'r' round not squared"... 🙂

We understand your curiosity. This might explain. We don’t have a lawn or a lawn mower. It’s farm land with slopes, terraces and rocks and brambles. Strimming is the fastest way unless you have a tractor with a chain cutter. Even then, we would still need to strim around all the trees and stone walls.
