Dominique, Thank you for supporting women as you do, so very well. When I was going through menopause, I had no assistance, no guidance and unfortunately, my loving wonderful "Mama", who was my best friend in the whole world, had passed away in 2005. (I know she is in heaven now, and that brings me peace in my heart for her.) However, I felt like I was a flag just blowing in the wind. I really didn't know at first what I was going through, until I saw a tv show, and they were talking about menopause. So, I started thinking that must be what I was going through. My weight was up and down, and all over the place. My mental well being, was not ok. I started having night sweats, and I just felt like I was seriously going crazy!!! It was a horrible time for my husband, as well as myself. He didn't know how to help me. We went to our doctor, who is a man, and he was literally no help at all. He is no longer our Dr. Since that time, I thank God that he helped me through it all. I do still have night sweats now and again, but it's much more manageable. Women who have gone through menopause or are going through it now, need to realize that they need to support other women. One day 7 years ago, I had to really have a serious talk with myself. I decided that I was putting my foot down, and I was going to become a plant based eater. What a positive impact, it has made in my life. I grew up with dance, it was my sport. It started when I was age 3, and lasted until age 18. My dance instilled, an inner discipline within me, it has served me well. Women need to be willing, to help other women. It's so crucial, to have support through menopause. I am doing my best to help women that I know, what may be happening in their lives. I help give them some tools, that I hope actually helps them while going through their journey of menopause. Honestly, just listening is a huge support for women. Thank you again Dominique.

I understand why a woman would want to use a filter, but I also wish she didn't because of what this channel stands for.. Especially since we come here and talk so much about being women who are 50+ and wanting to be proud of the way we are at this stage in life. Domonique talks a lot about self-acceptance and our journey as we age. Maybe she will see our comments and consider just being her authentic self, as she puts it. I still admire her!!!

Hello Dominique, Thanks so much for insightful conversation yet again about menopause! I've been dealing with it for 15 yrs due to health concerns which included a hysterectomy and the removal of an unhealthy ovary in 2009 hence a LONG process that continues w/ excessive sweating I never had prior, weight gain, insomnia and excessive stress about much more than before ... It goes on and on but rest assured, I am hopeful for an end to these symptoms and knowing I'm not alone by hearing from your guests as well as your journey through it. Your hair looks amazing and I look forward to your next podcast and Courtney's hair rejuvenation. She is an inspiration for sure! Have a wonderful week, dear Dominique! 🌸🌸🌸

She said after time has passed the risk is too great for future l problems, 1 being cancer. She also adamantly advised against companies like this, products like this because they are not individually nuanced, individually created. And a lit if mobey can be spent for not. She said its beautiful for a woman to age naturally & worries for women who are told or advertised to as if there's a problem with them for aging.

Your doctor is wrong and needs to become educated. Hormones need to start it within 5 to 10 years of menopause. It can be very beneficial. It protects your heart. It protects your bones, and protects you from dementia, and a whole host of other maladies. Kelly Casperson MD and Mary Claire Haver MD are good resources.

Isn't Womaness promoting a natural way to get through menopause? These products do not have hormones in them. Maybe I missed something. I thought this was all-natural supplements and some skincare? I think this is aging naturally. Your doctor said it is beautiful to age naturally, but what do you do when you have these symptoms? They can be debilitating for some of us.

I don’t mean to be disrespectful but I had three great aunts and got to spend time with my grandmother and great grandmother. We are 3 sisters. None of them or us took any meds for menopause. My mother is 93 and her bones are fine. I can just say they cooked a lot at home with olive oil m, garlic - basically Mediterranean diet / and walked a lot. No weightlifting, hormones or Botox and they looked great. They also had a great social life and didn’t suffer from loneliness. They all lived in to their late 80s and 90s. They pretty much died either quickly from a stroke or in their sleep. Menopause is not a disease but if you convince yourself it is or shining is I guess it becomes that.

I haven’t heard any of the menopause docs refer to menopause as a disease. It most certainly is a complete end of estrogen in a woman’s body. This will affect each woman differently. There are truly sad cases of women who consumed olive oil and garlic and walk extensively. My friend was in fact a dog walker in California sun on the daily. Her life was basically destroyed by lack of estrogen. Breaks my heart. There are estrogen receptors throughout the body that suddenly are affected. Well beyond hot flashes and insomnia, many suffer with osteoporosis (yes walkers, hikers, athletes), cardio vascular disease and early dementia/memory loss, as well as mood disorders. The suffering is real and we were told that HRT was not available as a result of the Women’s Health Initiative. I have longevity in my family-but that generation didn’t speak of their health issues back then. I feel we’re all wanting the best health span possible. And what a wide spectrum of how we all respond to depleted estrogen. I’m happy to hear your family was blessed in this way.

I've done everything under the sun reading healthy only drinking water ect but nothing is helping so I'm thinking of getting hormones (something I'm very afraid of) but I can't mentally or physically keep going on like this. Many years ago one of the talkshow hosts did a story about various face products for moisturizer, and he claimed that this has everything in it that the stars are using that they pay $800 for so I’ve been using it since then. I don’t believe that what he said was true, but, it smells good and it leaves my face real soft so I would like to see what you think about that. It comes in a little white jar. I get it in the drugstore section at H-E-B. They also have it at Walgreens.

Hi there is anyone was an expert on ageing well would have been your mother for sure as you both looked the same age like sisters. Your mother she was always some one I looked up to and admired and she should still be here I find it so hard to accept she is not here, I feel perhaps she should not have been drinking with heart meds and the young man may have put pressure on her to be like him etc younger etc I hope some one did not give her any of those blue pills as that would have done it for sure heard a friend of mine she was very much like your mother in looks and age she also came from Ukraine, well sh drank and took blue pills when her younger boyfriend came over and one time it just really took her like your mother same thing, she had three daughters and they all used to compete who looked the youngest and well she did look better than them was so beautiful etc,had lot more energy than all three girls did

You are free to pursue non-menopause content-why the vitriol? Many women suffer and many don’t. Why tell someone to get over it!

Well the rest of us are incredibly grateful for it. The ones of us that are going through it need to hear as much as we can regarding this. One day when you get to our age maybe you'll care. Why be so nasty about it though? There are so many things you can watch on KZread. It just isn't normal to say what you said. Think it all you want but to actually type it out and leave that for others to read makes you look ignorant.
