I keep rewatching and having hysterical fits of laughter at 19:30-19:38. In the hot tub, then hearing a plop. "What was that? Did something drop in??". I am laughing with tears in my eyes just thinking about it while I type this. I have rewatched that 7 times already and it never gets less funny.

I read Beloved over a decade ago. I don’t remember much of it in terms of plot or character, but I remember how hard it was for me to read, partly because of how intense and heavy the content is and partly because of Morrison’s ever-shifting narrative. It almost felt like the book was actively resisting me reading it. I think it might be the toughest book I’ve ever read, a true horror of the human condition, something that forces you to sit and process the atrocities and traumas of the past, not just skate over them. I haven’t read any of Morrison’s other work because Beloved was so tough, but I have nothing but respect for her as an author for the power and craftsmanship of that one book.

I’ll be gone in the dark got me into non-fiction books honestly. I was already into true crime (and still am) but the book was so devastating Michelle did an incredible job showing us that the victims were real people and not just names.

I’m late to this episode, but Toni Morrison is one of my favorite authors. Beloved is such a great and tough book to read. The movie is also really good. I’m so glad you read it! Btw, if Toni did an audio version, then I recommend. I listened to her audio on another book and it was amazing. Her voice really brought the book more to life. RIP Toni Morrison, such a legend.

That poor bumble bee! My husband had one in his hair yesterday and i couldnt stop laughing at his reaction (he thought it was a massive spider at first). I love seeing you enjoying nature and how excited you were when seeing the deer in your last video......I live on an acre in the middle of the woods in the mountains of Virginia and we see all kinds of critters. I have 6 deer, a raccoon, a possum, a couple of bears, rabbits, squirrels, a groundhog, and plenty of birds. A little slice of paradise. But seriously, how many times can you look at a tree? 😂 I hope you had an enjoyable time. Wishing you well❤

Beloved did me dirty in High School. I was trying to move up to an honors class bc the English I was in books were really easy for me and ones I'd already read, so the teacher said I could move up if I could catch up on their entire reading of Beloved and write a report on it in a week... at 15 yrs old I could not wrap my head around that book. It was so confusing to me and now every time i see it in the store i give it the finger lol (i do think its probably a lovely book and if i didnt have a grudge I would reread it, but it was not something I could handle at that age.) I stayed in my regular English Class and read Grapes or Wrath and Great Gatsby for the 3rd time in my school career lol

That giggle you made when seeing yourself in the window. I died. I don't know if you know this but the author of I'll be Gone In The Dark actually died before finishing the book. It was finished and published by her husband (the actor Patton Oswalt) and a couple of other true crime writers. The book was actually published just a couple of months before the Golden State Killer was caught. It's a wild story. Love this silly, chaotic little vlog. I'm glad you're able to get a couple more relaxing weekends away now that you've decided to be more serious about trying to move. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!

I had 2 dogs and a cat. My cat loves to travel. I took all of them to a cabin at a state park a lot like this place. My cat was sooo happy. My dogs didn't care. My cat gets so excited if we just talk about going somewhere. If you didn't have to use public transportation I would say give taking your cats a try at least once. They might surprise you. I got a second cat and need to see how he does.

Gavin, use a Glass and a piece of paper to catch insects to throw them outside ^.^ especially when they stick to windows it is easy to catch them this way
