Gosh... After I purchased these plates (BTW, they are $89 apiece now, but no more free delivery), my tactical vest got twice as lighter as it was before! And, for the peace in mind, I've tested their 6x6 Level IV plate from a distance of 30 meters with M855A1 EPR ammo. It held 4 hits just fine, was penetrated by the fifth one. This result, as you can imagine, is way above the standards applied to this type of plates...

@@christopherrodriguez6545 maybe but thats 6 lbs heavier if you get no spall coating, and that price is only if you get the most basic 550 they have. if not youll have to add money, then worry about spall mitigation. good to know that you can survive a barrage of 12 gauge, but if you're taking that many hits, your cover and decision making skills suck. pretty legit stuff though.
@bloodlove93

@snoopy dubnation slugs maybe, but this was buckshot, all that energy is much more dispered by virtue of spread and separate mass. A slug would be much worse especially if it's a solid or hardcast. Sure what happened in the video would hurt like hell and the chance the shooter would switch target areas is high but with trauma plate and medical attention asap you'd probably survive that shotgun barrage if you were healthy and fit.
@bloodlove93
4 жыл бұрын
@snoopy dubnation haha fully agreed here, you'd likely need to be dragged or carted away with broken ribs and bruised or lacerated organs, but if you got medical attention soon you'd probably live, also consider that it wouldn't have been as deformed from the shotgun if it hadn't taken the previous shots. But hey the armor worked well and met expectations which is all anyone can ask. Armor doesn't guarantee survival, it just increases the chance. The only thing it guarantees is an open casket funeral. Assuming it stops the appropriately powerful projectile.
