Only boomers buy 1911s these days, and they don’t need no fancy gizmos on them, just ask Ken Hackathorn.
Sig dropped the ball on this with the 2011 craze. This should’ve come with a double stack frame that would take their P320 mags. Like Oracle, but from Sig!

Sig did a nice job on this one! Great review... I hope they decide to offer this in 10mm down the road!
Aside from the optics cut I have this exact gun. It is sweet. I love the weight and feel. I have only one major complaint. 17 BBs powered by Co2 just doesnt have the same kick. It reciprocates and everything works just like the real thing. For $119 it is still fun. Oh, it also comes with a threaded barrel!
I need a 1911 and that one is beautiful!! I’ll have to hold it and possibly get one when I return to the states next year!!! Thanks for your review on this!!
I have two Sig Sauer 1911's. One is the TACOPS 10mm Auto and the other is a STX 45 ACP. Both have had Thunder Mountain five piece fire control groups (titanium hammer struts) installed, the triggers have been adjusted for pretravel and overt ravel, VZ grips stippled G10 grips, EGW sear springs, EGW extractor and extractor springs, extra power firing pin springs, Wilson Combat full length guide rods, Wilson Combat flat wire recoil springs (24 lbs for the 10mm and 20 lbs for the 45 ACP), EGW titanium main spring cap, 24 lbs main spring for the 10mm and 18 lbs main spring for the 45 ACP, and last but certainly not least EGW flat based firing pin stops. My example of Sig Sauer 1911's were mediocre at best out of the box. Now? They are absolutely phenomenal.
I really appreciate all of your content

Beautiful gun. I remember seeing a Scorpion a while back that was FDE with Hogue Piranha grips. Very sharp
Other than it being an 80series I think this is better than the updated Springfield TRP's. It having an optic cut is huge for production 1911's. The other higher end optic cut ones you can get is the Dan Wesson Specialist but that's around $400 more but it is all forged and a 70s.
@Mrgunsngear
Ай бұрын
you're not alone in that opinion it seems
@70bonnevilleguy53
Ай бұрын
@Mrgunsngear A Dan Wesson feels like a custom gun, but comes in at production money. Series 70's can be drop safe, not all of them are Staccto's.
I have the little brother (carry model) i love it, not one malfunction yet, my budget isnt great so my "break in period" was a little on the ghetto side, i fired 100 rounds then loaded it again & again until i reached 500, i only sacrificed ten rounds doing that (two became too damaged to put back through my gun, & the others i was unwilling to do any damage to the pistol if they popped off the wrong way so i broke them down & threw them away, but the break in was a success. I dont recomend because it was tedious as hell, but ive had no failures to feed nor eject & the sear & trigger break is sh@ hot right out of the box so i will probly do that again in the future.
Thanks for a awesome Review!!!! This sure did bring the 1911 "Experts" out 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice, it would go great with my Sig Emperor Scorpion Fastback. Same colors, just a full size frame with optics cut. Not a bad looking piece.
“Friend of Mine”, picked up a /Safe Queen/ FDE FNx 45 tactical and put the acro p2 on it. Like the large mag capacity.

Having handled and shot both this and the new Springfield TRPs, the TRPs are better fit and better shooting. Given that my use case for a 1911 is competing in single stack, I’m not bothered at all by the Springfields lacking an optics cut.
Can’t wait for the review of the Romeo-X!
Good looking pistol. Great review!
Another great video. I really like this pistol.
Thank you,,Great video. Been waiting for your opinion. I tested the trigger at a gun store,,thought it "felt horrible" .What holster would you recommend ?
Awesome pistol and review!👍
I’m at almost 10k on my almost 10 year old sig scorpion. runs amazing only malfunctions have been bad ammo or being so dirty the slide was very slow with carbon and bad lube but my only complaint is finding holsters that work with the x400u I have on it
Thanks for the video
Had a sig 1911. It was easily my most accurate pistol, even more than a staccato. I hate that I had to get rid of it.
I have had several Colt series 70's and modified the last one, trigger and barrel throat. It would feed empty un resized cases. I shot a series 80 and nearly puked. What an abomination. Traded it for an older BHP. I now have a WC full size in 9mm. Hardly any recoil at all as it is a Chunky Butt. Not a fan of the Gold Bead front sight post. With arthritis in my hands, elbows, and shoulders, 9mm is the way for me. Thank you for the video and review, as always.
If like pvd over cerakote for sure, but if I were looking to pick up a 1911, I'd rather get a cheaper and nicer colt gold cup national match than that for cheaper
MUGCLUB! I don't like the shield pattern optics available. I think I would like a setup like Springfield's 1911 DS. Good looking 1911 though.
Good job on the video
It would be cool if they made a 2011 or 9mm 1911 double stack with a series 70 trigger. The great trigger pull on a 1911/2011 and the grip angle is its superpower. Why change that?
I thought the grip safety was to keep from shooting your horse or yourself. When utilizing the lanyard loop and strapping the gun to your body, and when you are riding a horse, if the gun comes out of the holster and is bouncing around, it won't discharge by accident because the grip safety is not going to depress easily all by itself.
How about removing or polishing the trigger safety?
Series 80 boo. Titanium firing pin tends to solve the drop safety concern in the series 70.
When are we gonna see some companies come w a Optics cut and threaded barrel option. I'm waiting on the prodigy to come out with a threaded barrel version before I buy one.
Looking forward to a Romeo X torture test video!

Why wouldn’t they make it take their mags? The 320 or macro mags would have been sick
Pardon my ignorance, would it be possible to swap the barrel on this handgun from the standard profile to a bull profile and is it a complicated process?
I wonder why no one has tried making a stack and a half 2011 in .45acp. Is it just not possible? A double stack would be a chonker, like the FNX-45, but I'd think the grip width would be relatively fine at a 1.5 stack, and would give you 12 rounds, which would really helps in the capacity argument.
Have you tried VOTATU PMD505? How do you feel?

I can’t believe we get to beta test for sig again
1911 Can be classic but can also be modern Beautiful (My first comment isn't shown, maybe deleted by the system for some reason)
Firing pin safety = No sale. What's wrong with Ruger's titanium firing pin?
I am not interested in the Sig optic but the gun looks like a keeper.
Would be real cool to see it in 10mm
Ive got a series 80 Remington. I dont think i can feel a difference in the trigger. I think the controversy is way overblown.
Looks just like the scorpion I have.
Is it weird if I wanna be Sig fanboy? I want their 1911s, their P226s, their MCX in 5.556, and their Spear in 308… if they made a bolt gun or a shotgun I bet it would be the best production bolt gun or shotgun on the market!
So this is more drop safe then other sigs?
Should of been a double stacked 320 mag fed 1911
Can't blame Sig for making sure it's drop safe given the gossip around their other guns
I had installed the 10-8 flat trigger shoe just like this Sig 1911 on my Dan Wesson Valor which has an over travel stop that needed to be filed to fit. I also installed the Cylinder and Slide 3.5# matched sear and hammer. I prefer not to have a pic rail on 1911s or red dots. I like the traditional look. Only series 70 for me in a 1911.

MIM vs Forged being equal? I’m dubious that the properties are the same. MIM might be perfectly suited for the task but they don’t carry the same properties strength wise. We need a materials science engineer to weigh in here.

nice gun! $1500 for a single stack fudd style 45 modeled after an 80 series. oh and it weighs 3lbs... I do like the light rail and the optics options. and the color. I hope they eventually have a 10mm option!
I love 1911"s, but sticking with a 7 or 8 rnd mag when you have a grip that big on a full size pistol is just dumb IMO. I guess the double stack 1911's are called 2011's now, so there is that.

@theodorehunter4765 it's a two dollar difference in price, it's a superior round. With 100 yards, you can take down almost anything, 45 acp is outdated round, I will just use 44 mag or 10mm instead

@@miltonoliver3705 You asked, so I answered. Sure, you can get a 44 magnum, but you are relegated to a revolver or a questionable semi-auto like a Desert Eagle.
