    Aside from the optics cut I have this exact gun. It is sweet. I love the weight and feel. I have only one major complaint. 17 BBs powered by Co2 just doesnt have the same kick. It reciprocates and everything works just like the real thing. For $119 it is still fun. Oh, it also comes with a threaded barrel!

    I have two Sig Sauer 1911's. One is the TACOPS 10mm Auto and the other is a STX 45 ACP. Both have had Thunder Mountain five piece fire control groups (titanium hammer struts) installed, the triggers have been adjusted for pretravel and overt ravel, VZ grips stippled G10 grips, EGW sear springs, EGW extractor and extractor springs, extra power firing pin springs, Wilson Combat full length guide rods, Wilson Combat flat wire recoil springs (24 lbs for the 10mm and 20 lbs for the 45 ACP), EGW titanium main spring cap, 24 lbs main spring for the 10mm and 18 lbs main spring for the 45 ACP, and last but certainly not least EGW flat based firing pin stops. My example of Sig Sauer 1911's were mediocre at best out of the box. Now? They are absolutely phenomenal.

    Other than it being an 80series I think this is better than the updated Springfield TRP's. It having an optic cut is huge for production 1911's. The other higher end optic cut ones you can get is the Dan Wesson Specialist but that's around $400 more but it is all forged and a 70s.

    I have the little brother (carry model) i love it, not one malfunction yet, my budget isnt great so my "break in period" was a little on the ghetto side, i fired 100 rounds then loaded it again & again until i reached 500, i only sacrificed ten rounds doing that (two became too damaged to put back through my gun, & the others i was unwilling to do any damage to the pistol if they popped off the wrong way so i broke them down & threw them away, but the break in was a success. I dont recomend because it was tedious as hell, but ive had no failures to feed nor eject & the sear & trigger break is sh@ hot right out of the box so i will probly do that again in the future.

    I have had several Colt series 70's and modified the last one, trigger and barrel throat. It would feed empty un resized cases. I shot a series 80 and nearly puked. What an abomination. Traded it for an older BHP. I now have a WC full size in 9mm. Hardly any recoil at all as it is a Chunky Butt. Not a fan of the Gold Bead front sight post. With arthritis in my hands, elbows, and shoulders, 9mm is the way for me. Thank you for the video and review, as always.

    It would be cool if they made a 2011 or 9mm 1911 double stack with a series 70 trigger. The great trigger pull on a 1911/2011 and the grip angle is its superpower. Why change that?

  • @tracymartin4517
    @tracymartin4517Ай бұрын

    I thought the grip safety was to keep from shooting your horse or yourself. When utilizing the lanyard loop and strapping the gun to your body, and when you are riding a horse, if the gun comes out of the holster and is bouncing around, it won't discharge by accident because the grip safety is not going to depress easily all by itself.

    I wonder why no one has tried making a stack and a half 2011 in .45acp. Is it just not possible? A double stack would be a chonker, like the FNX-45, but I'd think the grip width would be relatively fine at a 1.5 stack, and would give you 12 rounds, which would really helps in the capacity argument.

    10mm has SIGNIFICANTLY more recoil and is harder to find AND more expensive than 45. It's also a LOT harder on guns and guns chambered in 10mm tend to be more expensive.

    @theodorehunter4765 it's a two dollar difference in price, it's a superior round. With 100 yards, you can take down almost anything, 45 acp is outdated round, I will just use 44 mag or 10mm instead

    @@miltonoliver3705 You asked, so I answered. Sure, you can get a 44 magnum, but you are relegated to a revolver or a questionable semi-auto like a Desert Eagle. With a new recoil spring, I can shoot 45 Super out of a 45 ACP, and have a ballistically superior round to 10mm. The ammo is more rare and expensive, but if price and availability doesn't matter, why get a wimpy 10mm?

    Does this have their typical Schwartz safety nonsense? All 1911’s need to be S70, Ti firing pin, extra heavy fps. It’s not that difficult.
