Over the years, Daphne Blake became better at protecting herself and developed combat skills to fight the bad guys. Sometimes she acted as the group's main muscle. Even so, Daphne Blake stayed true to her heart. She still loved fashion, romance and traditionally feminine pursuits. With Hollywood revamping many popular female characters, Daphne Blake becomes a dynamic character without losing what made her beloved in the first place.

This is my absolute favorite Scooby-Doo incarnation. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite shows in general. It’s just so well-done, and it did the all the things I really wanted to see in the other series: gave the show a serial format with an ongoing story arc, actually gave the gang backstories, fleshed out everyone’s characters, and took a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the humor. I love how self-aware and intelligent the series is. They didn’t try to appeal just to children. And I might be in the minority here, but I even love the art style. It pays homage to the original animation, while also putting its own fresh, somewhat edgy spin on it. I really can’t say enough good things about this series. It’s a love letter to all the lifelong Scooby-Doo fans, like myself and countless others.

One of the biggest revelations in the series even suggested that the group was part of a much older tradition than they realized. In fact, there was a previous Mystery Incorporated team, who quietly showcased the worst-case fate for Scooby-Doo, Shaggy Rogers, Fred Jones, Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley if they grew apart and became the same kind of people the gang usually tries to bring down.

I planned that I would eventually watch it next year in sophomore or junior year summer, but I kept on holding it back. This is incredible! I agree with everything about this, the story was allinged perefctly about them solving mysteries to solve bigger ones such as the planespheric disc (later on in the series at least). The flow is incredible and the consistency of the main charecters and co - charecters works. a lot of the previous scooby doo series dont stay in a certain place and always move around, but this series just sticks in one place (mainly). It links back to other old charecters, which makes it way easier to understand and gives it plost twst and various turns which makes it so much more intresting to watch. Also, I always felt like they made the charecters less stereotypical and give them more growth on love life and cause drama between them, and it makes them see more realistic and relateable. Another thing, is the antagonists work in such complex and extremely intresting way, pericles starts off as less of a threat and builds on to his evil charecteristics, who tries to get the planaspheric disc for his own powerful reasons. Mr E is (in a way) an accomplice to pericles who wants to have power for various (and unknow reasons). Brad Chiles and Judy Reeves are also villans in this series working with the previous mystery incorporated gang (not Angel Dynatmite (Cassidy Williams)). Another anagonist is Mayor Jones who also wanted to find the disc and attempted to get it by trying to push away Brad and Judy but reliased he had to take care of Fred, BIG L BOZO. Aswell on that he had to hide the he wasnt the real "father" and from the start was pretty harsh on Fred. All the parents (or guardians (for Freds sake)) were not a big fan of their children solving mysteries and disliked it as shown from Shaggy's parents who sent him to the army and Scooby to a farm for some sort of punishment. Fred, Velma and Daphne's parents were less harsh by not giving them a punishment (not a visible one at least) but did split the gang apart for a period of time. During the period of time when they were not talking, Daphne some how gained feelings for Baylor Hotner, crushing Fred or in a way distracting him completley (which shows that he likes Daphne but is romantic in a different way). This tears apart the gang which shows the struggles and hardships about the gang. Another thing is the deaths are pretty brutal, although not shown on camera (for obvious reasons) these deaths make me feel somewhat emotion, especially for Angel, and it way pretty unfair as she was trying to help the gang and at some points was hated from both the mystery incorporated and the previous mystery inc gang. There is one thing that i do love though, Sherrif Stone, I personally think he is one of the funniest and sarcastic charecters and didn't get much recognition. He is so stupid that its practically funny, although he does believe in Mayor Jones and thinks that he is right and was extremely shocked about him being the freak of crystal cove. I do partcially like nora (the dog form Brad and Judy) I think that the "crush" or the love situation between them or mainly on scooby's side. Also the new mayor after Fred's dad (I forgot her name) I particuarly liked for being one of the only adults supporting the mystery solving. This series is incredible and i still watch it, THERE IS NOTHING BETTER! Absolutely incredible! Tell me if there was anything I missed and this was my overview on the series and the video (this is so good btw!) Thanks for reading

Honestly, this was the best rendition of Scooby-Doo I've seen to date. It took the characters we've known and loved for years and gave them such depth. It also did such a good job at giving us new characters to love; Angel Dynamite. It did a great job at being fresh, current and self-aware. Noticeable even in side characters, updating the hex girls and then bringing them back in season 2 in their original outfits at the request of their fans (both within the realm of the show as well as real life Scooby fans). This show just got so many things right and fearlessly dared to try new things. I'm dying to see this world again, or at least an equally as dark and character-driven story for the scooby franchise.

I'm surprised no mention was made in the pop culture section of all the horror movie references in the series. As a Scooby fan and a horror fan it was so cool. There are nods to HP Lovecraft and Kaiju films (as discussed), but also The Shining, Hellraiser, Silence of the Lambs, there's a saw homage episode, Labyrinth (sort of a kids horror movie), alien invasion films, Horror Hosts, Phantom of the Opera - and this is just a short list. If you're a horror fan, definitely worth a watch through. Also it's on Netflix now!
