Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another way to avoid the sketch layer from interfering with the R shortcut is to lock it. Then you can still see the sketch, but it will not be selected.

Oh that's so useful! Thanks for the extra tip!!
I'm pleasantly surprised by how similar it looks to Photoshop. Nearly all of these are options I use regularly right now. Only the clipping layers (locking alphas) looks a bit more tedious here, but I think I could live with that. Once my Photoshop discount runs out, I think I'll be using Krita.

I believe there are also ways to do clipping layers in a similar way to how photoshop does it in Krita. I just find that this way runs a bit faster so that's what I shared! It may seem a little tedious in the video, but once you get used to it, it doesn't feel too bad :)

Yay! Free open source software is great!
I've been using krita for close to 2 years so I've learnt most this stuff over time and trail and error, but that shift + backspace will save me hours of work down the road as I work with selections a lot. thanks a ton :D

@@Noctualis You can change the behaviour of the fill tool in the tool option docker. You can tell it to disregard all other layers and only sample current layer or you can also tell it to sample layers with specific colour labels.
Ok but can we please appreciate the fact how good that cat looks?
I'm new to krita and to digital art in general and this really helped a lot. Thank you so much!
Omg, you've no idea how much i wish to find this video sooner . How many hours i would save with that tip to find layers! But better latter them ever! Great video!
I've been using krita forever now but I'm still finding new shortcuts, the R shortcut and color picking one will likely be my new fave cause I always have a buttload of layers and its so difficult to grab colors I've got to undo filters and everything this is awesome! also found some new brushes to try so yeehaw

Yeah when I found out about those two I was so happy. I use them in literally every painting now haha! Glad you learned some new tricks!
Regarding to transform tool or crop tool , you dont really need to press Enter button to make the changes i usually press B to get back to my brush and krita still makes these changes. I find it faster.

The video gets right into the details efficiently and helps me to use Krita in a more productive way. I prefer your way of teaching over many other howtos on KZread where details of understanding are left off. Thanks for the wonderful howto!
I've been using Krita for years, and I had no idea until right now that it's capable of 3D rotation. Thank you!
