I have fasted with just black coffee and water for 5 days, Sunday night to Friday evening. The biggest problem is the boredom. I never realized how much time is spent around food and eating. Preparing meals, eating, cleaning up after the meals. So helps to have plenty of things to keep busy, but was never hungry or grumbling stomach. I will also add that it really helps to be totally keto and fat burning adapted before doing this.

7 Tips of Intermittent Fasting: Tip #1: 5:06 - Drink while fasting. Examples come at 7;30 Tip #2: 8:45 - Eat a pinch of salt Tip #3: 9:14 - Add butter or ghee or fat to your coffee. Eating a fat doesn't break the fast Tip #4: 11:35 - Start slow, for newbies, fast 18-20 hours. Tip #5: 12:33 - Which meal to skip. Focus on the hours of uninterrupted fasting. Tip #6: 15:25 - When breaking your fast, eat meals very high in fats and protein. Eat until comfortably full. Tip #7 18:55 - No portion control. Eat as many eggs, beef, salmon, etc., as much as you need. Don't overfill.

I might only add that if someone needs to lose excess weight/fat, they keep their fat intake moderate and be sure the trim the excess off the sides of meat. We store fat in order to burn it for energy when needed, but if we keep supplying "high fats", our body will hold on to what it's got. At least that's been my experience in weight loss. Plenty of meat, no calorie counting, but no excess fats until I'm in the maintenance phase. I eat OMAD...Thx for summarizing the list🙂

My longest fast was 16days. Now I eat when hungry which turns out to be every other day. I started keto in 2017 at 250 lbs which was down from 269 lbs after eating Paleo three months before starting keto, and now my weight ranges between 158 - 165 lbs.

On an occasional 48 hr fast right now. Fasting is easy when you get used to it! You will also feel an elevation of your mood! Fasting is an amazing thing that will change your life for the better!!

My longest fast was last year with 64 hours. However my daily standard fasting is 17 to 18 hours. And after being diagnosed with Hashimoto's in January 2015, I am now in remission with my antibodies now at zero. I consider my IF and keto/carnivore diet over the past 2 years to have been key to my healing. Time and consistency, but not perfection, by any means. Just keep practicing and tweaking what works for you. 👍

Thank you both! I’m in transition as I’ve had digestive issues for so long...keto was not for me aft 6 mos heart and soul into it! I was so afraid of going hungry is why I hadn’t started IF. Low FODMAP, digestive enzymes and intense probiotics is all I can muster now. Took yrs to learn root problem of digester disorder, bad gut bacteria that led to body inflammation 2500x where it should be. I’m not sure if keto made it worse? A Rollercoaster ride it’s been. I want to be healthy and to lose 25 lbs. I’m thinking that I just need to do this. My daughter recently lost 60+ on IF. You three are such a beautiful family. I love that you’re real and care. Sending love and light! 💕✨🙏🌈

For me Fasting definitely has been a game changer for fat loss and mental health. When I am wanting cream in my morning coffee when Im fasting it means I didnt have enough fat the day before. I tweak it the next day and then Im good with black coffee. I could never fast before I stayed in ketosis. But now I can with ease. Ketovore and fasting is my jam. Years ago when i was killing myself at the gym and depressed. Keto and fasting can be a life changer for a depressed or anxious person. If that is you i beg you to try it. I am 50, 5’5”, 128. I have spine issues and I want a little more fat off because every pound is pressure on my disks. Strength training is helping so much. On a quest to build way more muscle for optimal function with spine problems. My husband who eats high carb most days can fast till noon with black coffee. There are still benefits in that if you can do it. Sometimes he will have an Equate lowcarb 30g protein drink in a triple iced expresso at lunch. What I am saying is he eats high carb but still practices fasting several days per week and it is benefitting him. I went to walmart and bought every flavor for the chance of him doing it more. If its easy and quick he will do it. He would not do it if he didnt feel the positive effects pretty quickly. His body is still getting a break from the insulin spikes. He is at a healthy weight and does strength training several days per wk @51 with good labs. Do whatever you can however you can. I cheer everyone on.

my best fast was 48h fasting, i tried to hit the autophagy. But since I switched to OMAD for 2 month ago and I go to the gym 6 days of the week, I didint like the feel of it. I use to eat a dinner (6pm), but starting tomorrow i'll swtich the meal to the breakfast (8am). So when i'll go to sleep, i'll already be in a 16h(ish) fast and alot of research says the growth hormone and autophagy hit better at 16-24h fast when you sleep. i'll try this for a month, wish be luck. Here the result from 7 september to 7 october 7 september - weight: 108kg waist size: 98cm 7 october - weight 102kg waist size: 91cm DISCLAIMER - 26 years old, height 185cm, live in Canada - I do power lifting at the gym, huge load, 6 reps or less, 3min break each sets - switched since 14 october to 3 gym session a week, because my gym didnt close but we can only go by reservation now (30 people max), so I go in 3 specific day and time a week now. - I started to use Redmond salt since october 5, before I was using costco pink salt (just wanted to test) - The 1 avocado/day started october 24 (no side effects and I think there to much good in a avocado to past out on it) - started to add the coconut oil in october 3 and for the next 2 days after that, I started to have huge pain the heart in the evening 8pm. Like if my hearth was being squeeze. Have litteraly no pain since 6 october (dont know if my body had to adapt to the oil or there was a fight with my supplements). What I eat everyday ( I use MyNetDiary for %ish of my macros and I weight everyting) 1 teaspoon of ghee butter by Verka 2 teaspoon of extravirgin coconut oil by kirkland signature 1 avocado + the seed 3 eggs 2 teaspoon of Redmond salt my piece of meat (only beef, buy on sales in since i'm a student in a french place, doing what you call in america, law degree, I think) t-bone, beef cut in cube, beef chuck, etc (eat aslo beef liver and chicken hearth 2/week) portion size are min 350g to 700g so fat: 118 to 195g carbs: 8 to 12 (with liver) protein: 100 to 190g sugar: 1g (only from the avocado) My supplements (dont want to name brand, for everyone will react differently to supplement, ask your doctor first) 2 drops of iodine/day (1 in morning and 1 in evening) 4 vitamine D of 1000iu/day during my meal for fat help absorption 4 fish oil capsule/day before bed 6-8 magnesium drop/day before bed 1 pill of zinc pocolinate 50mg/day during meal for fat help absorption

Prior to fasting I used to get so hangry if I didn’t eat within 4-5 hours of last eating. My husband was so surprised when I could go for 12 hours the first time. Now I can go 16-20 hours no problem. I’ve been IF for almost two years now. 35 hours was my longest fast and I only did that once.

I was hospitalized and had a NG tube in for 9 days. No food or fluids for 9 days. That started my fasting journey. I lost a total of 130 lbs. I've gained some weight back since then. This was back in 2013. I am now going to start fasting. I can wake up at 7 am and not eat until 9pm. I never get hungry. I've spoke to my dr about fasting back on August 29th. I never have an appetite. He said by all means I can certainly fast. He gave me pointers and tips on fasting and then I came across your video. Thanks for putting this out there. Great video!

96 hours was also my longest fast (I weaned myself off coffee before I started). By the 96 hour point of fasting I was cleaning the entire house I was so euphoric and full of life and energy. I wanted to keep going but decided I had reached my goal and ended it there.

Well done. I do a monthly 72 hour fast which I find my optimum. 96 hours would be a bridge too far for me !

Thank you both! I highly recommend adding pink salt or sea salt to drinking water. ½ tsp/L. Especially if you struggle to drink as much as you need to. So delicious!

I use Pink salt and also add magnesium (I just pop open the capsule) to a liter bottle of water. The magnesium is water-soluble and adds an oddly familiar taste that I just can't quite put a description too. 😁 Keeps me regular...
