Hi David, I agree with you 100% the Honda Civic SI is priced right and has a lot of reliability and dependability when I was younger I had a 1986 Honda CRX SI, and it was a lot of fun to drive and it was only 90 hp and got tremendous gas mileage. I really enjoyed that vehicle , this sounds like a modern version of that…❤

Where I live, I’ve found some for $500 over MSRP. Grant it, the chances of you getting the color you may want is lower than with other cars. However, In my mind 30k US for a civic si is still 8k too high especially when the MSRP of the Canadian model with all the extra standard features translates to 27k US

David, that is a great looking vehicle inside and out. Honda has made great strides on their interior. When you said manual transmission I was shocked happily shocked and looking forward to driving a Civic Si soon. Before I started buying 4Runner’s and Tacoma’s, I had bought a 2006 Civic coupe. After I sold it, I very much regretted it. Thank you again for a great review.

I’m usually all for Honda and Yota. However, there’s another Honda enthusiast here on YT and I also follow his channel. He recently purchased the 2.0 L Honda Civic 6 speed Manual. His new 2023 Civic has a water leak getting in somewhere through the hatch back area… he recently went to change his oil as he also does all his own maintenance only to find the valve cover gasket already leaking oil throughout the engine compartment. He brought it to the dealer and they changed the gasket and he had them do the oil change while the car was being repaired. I really love Hondas but this is concerning and I felt bad for him because he’s a Honda lover too and I’m hoping he doesn’t have any more issues. His new 2023 just barely hit 3000 miles

Seems like all manufacturers have declined in quality since the pandemic. Part of it is designs have become much more complicated with much more tech. Part of it seems to be supply chain problems. Part of it seems to be that humanity cares a little bit less about quality and is worried a little bit more about the future.

It also has slightly different interior seats for the driver and passenger. It has so many slightly different things it's almost like a different car.

Even at MSRP this vehicle is overpriced. In 2020 it was around $31k CAD. Now it's almost $38k CAD. It's risen $7,000 in 3 years. That is insane. You can get an inventory Tesla 3 for less than that after rebates in Canada. Honda has done this with almost every single model and they are now pricing out their long-term customers.

While it's not a sedan, but still comparable, I would pick a mk8 GTI(base model), hands down over the Si. I've owned an Si, and several GTI's and while like think they're both great cars, I would pick the GTI for its superior drive train(especially with the dsg), better brakes, quieter cabin, and that Audi-like feeling of mass and sophistication. I do prefer the Civic's interior, and slightly better reliability, based on my experience.
