7 Best Pelvic Stabilization Exercises - Ask Doctor Jo

Спорт

These basic pelvic stabilization exercises may help pelvic instability from weakness, a muscle imbalance, or an alignment issue. They may also help with SI joint issues or a dysfunction. More pelvic exercises: • How to Fix Anterior Pe...
There are many muscles that stabilize the pelvis. These include the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, abdominals, hip flexors, hamstrings, and many other small pelvic floor muscles.
The first exercise is a bridge. This is great to strengthen the hamstrings and the glutes.
The next exercise is a clamshell. This one helps strengthen the glute medius. It also helps balance the muscles of your inner and outer thighs.
The next four exercises are modified or full side plank, hip abduction in sidelying, hip circles in sidelying, and toe taps in sidelying. These work the abductors and the core muscles.
Finally, you will get on all fours or quadruped, and do the fire hydrant. This exercises is another great one for our core, and pelvic muscles in general.

Hi Dr. Jo! I'm having pain that I had at one time thought was my kidney. While trying to sleep, I realized it was my pelvis. Kidney area felt fine. Hips, not so much. So I went in search for exercises, (No easy task. Kept finding kegal info.) and I found your video. I did the exercises with you. Lol now I KNOW it's my pelvis. I love this video so much. I'm 52 and can't do what a 20 year old can do. You took everyone's abilities into account and made me feel comfortable and confident! I definitely SUBSCRIBED and sent this video to my daughter, who recently delivered our first grandbaby. Thank you so much!

Well, I haven't seen my therapist in a while now, due to this Coronavirus situation. Last time he checked my hip (more than one month ago) he said it was doing ok, and that it will take time to heal completely because my entire leg had adjusted to the wrong posture. Expecially my foot has gone from being extarotated to almost intrarotated, and my fear is that if I try to keep it straight by walking, it will "pull my hip out of place" again. Does that make sense? For this reason I'm trying to strenghten my muscles around the hip, hoping this will allow me to walk correctly and let my hip keep on healing. My therapist just told me to walk a lot, avoid dancing Tango and avoid doing the typical leg raise you do when you jump over a hurdle... Thanks a lot for the prompt answer, I really appreciate it!

Hello Dr. Jo, Thanks for showing these exercises. I have problems with internal rotation as I couldn't do the fire hydrants. My legs won't go up far from the floor. Can you please suggest what I should do? Any internal rotation stretches or other exercise that you would recommend to open the hip up before doing the fire hydrants?

Hi There, I have IC and I was going to start pelvic floor exercises but I have two kids and no time...my problem is holding or my muscles are tense all the time. I was on meds.but the ones that worked were not being friendly with another med. I was on....so i needed to stop taking it. Would have any pelvic floor exercises for pelvic relaxing? ...this could maybe get the ball rolling....

Hi Doctor Jo. I have liked and subscribed to your channel and I'm find it very usual. I'm 34 fairly fit, but I'm slightly hypermobile particular in my hips and ankles. I regularly wake up on my side with my hip hyperflexed and my knee up to nearly my collar bone! Recently I've found that when I'm walking on hard ground my hip is hyperextending as I walk. It not popping out but it is slightly painful. I just want to check if the above exercises are appropriate for me as I don't want to increase my mobility. I want to strengthen and tighten the muscles and ligaments? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

You can easily turn them off by clicking the "CC" button at the bottom of the video. If you want to leave them on, you can drag them to another area on the screen, or you can make them transparent. You can even automatically translate them into many different languages. I show how to do all this and more here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJWosKSTmJmcgNI.html
