7.3L Powerstroke Dream Truck

Whether you prefer the OBS Fords, or the Super Duty 7.3L Powerstrokes' I hope you enjoyed this quick walk around of my 1997 7.3L Powerstroke rolling time capsule. This is a bone stock truck and it's been a great daily driver. If you have any questions about the truck let me know down below in the comments. Thanks for watching!

Nice job restoring it and getting it running. You don’t find trucks that clean in the Midwest, safe to say I’m jealous. You deserved it.

Thank you! It definitely was a ton of work to get it up and running right, but the results were well worth it. I’m so thankful this truck hasn’t seen the salt belt of the Midwest. It’s a shame that a lot of these trucks have rotted away because of it.

I really enjoy your videos. I have a 97 7.3. You have such a nice way of presenting things. you remind me of my wife ,she does a stream of consciousness type thing. and you are talking exactly the way I think when I'm working on something. amazing that you can put that verbally. My son follows in my footsteps. I have already told them about your channel.

The older I've gotten, the more I like leaving things looking original. Don't get me wrong, I still like tasteful modifications and making them more reliable with the appropriate additions. You did a fantastic job on this truck Cody! I hope that you enjoy it for many miles to come!

Thanks so much Wesley! I agree, there’s a lot of tasteful mods you can do to these trucks but there’s just something cool about an original truck. It’s gonna last for many more years to come. Might not be the fastest truck on the road but will certainly look good🤣😂.

Beautiful truck! I too believe in keeping as original as possible. We have a ‘92 OBS Dually. The only thing non-original is the custom aluminum diamond plate bed with a hidden gooseneck box for horse towing. It’s rarely ever seen winter roads here in southern Ontario, so next to no rust. Just rolled over 95,000km/59,000 miles. Every time we pull into a horse show, we get endless comments on the truck. My wife preps the horses, I polish the truck!

That’s amazing. Very rare to hear of an OBS Ford with less than 60,000 miles. Sounds like it’s in near mint condition. The fact that is has little to no rust living up in Canada makes it even more rare. Putting on the aluminum diamond plate bed was a smart idea. Thanks for sharing!

It took a lot of hours to get it where it’s at today, but I’m so happy with how it’s turned out. For being almost 30 years old a few door dings isn’t the end of the world. I can live with it. Great to hear from ya, hope everything is going well.😀👍

Gorgeous truck! Eventually i want to find a red ‘97 with the 7.3L and a stick shift. I have a ‘99 super duty with the 7.3L and an automatic and also a white 2003 2500HD duramax truck so i have to get the OBS in red so i have the red, white, and blue fleet. My ‘99 is my daily driver, for now anyways. It’ll soon be parked and only come out for nice days. She’s only got 156K on her.

Thank you Mike. Nothin wrong with having a red, white, and blue truck fleet🤣! That sounds like a beautiful Super Duty. Those trucks are getting really hard to find with low miles (and expensive) nowadays. I don’t blame ya for wanting to keep it a weekend driver.

@@ydocproductions5593, that’s the plan. She’s a cherry truck. I’ll be doing a fuel filter on her next week. I change it every 10K. Plus i’ll be doing the AIH delete, a coolant filtration system, and a full A/C tune-up. Have to change the compressor because the pulley bearing is noisy and it annoys me. But it’s time for A/C hose replacement since they’re all almost 25 years old.

The 7.3 litre power stroke was and is good but 7.5 litre 460 gas was also pretty stellar too similar in power 230 hp and 445 ft lb torque
