Custom Welding Table

I'll get back to working on my other projects soon, but I wanted to showcase my new welding table because it's going to be the backbone for a lot of future projects. I also wanted to correct myself when I said that the welding table took 10-15lbs. of welding wire. I meant to say that it only took around 5lbs. of flux core welding wire. I'm not a professional welder by any means, but I'm not THAT BAD LOL!!!
Thanks so much for watching, and I hope to see you guys in the next video

Great design, most of us DIY welding guys won't need more than this. as for those guys concerned that splatter will mess us the threads, two easy solutions, stick a bolt in any close holes that mat be jeopardized or get a can of anti-stick spray and spritz the holes . Nice table.

I agree, it’s the perfect size for my shop. I’ve been working on a headache rack and a lot of welding spatter already has ruined my clean work surface. So I think I’ll be investing in some anti spatter welding spray.

Thank you Zane! It’s been super helpful so far. I’m right in the middle of helping a family member with a welding project and the welding table has already paid for itself😀👍

For the kinds of welding & fabrication that you do, that table will suit you just fine. I will make three suggestions though. 1) make a mount for a bench vice 2) make a mount for a chain vice 3) weld a piece of angle iron onto one of your extensions, flush with the top, so it looks like a 'V' it's very handy for tacking pipe together. Otherwise, nice job on getting it put together.

Those are all great ideas! A solid vise mount would be a real asset. I’ve seen different welding videos of guys using angle iron for welding pipe and every time I see them they all seems like a handy thing to have around. I think I’ll make a jig sometime. Any tips I get from a professional welder I take as sound advice🤣! Hope you have a great weekend Wesley.😀👍

Thank you! They’re a big asset to the shop. I’m right in the middle of making a headache rack for a family member and those expanding sides have already paid for themselves. Thanks for watching Steve great to hear from ya!👍

Cool table like the idea of the pull out side's just finished building one myself for the same reason to get off the floor it's so much better welding off a table than the floor great job.

Thank you! I saw different ideas on KZread and adapted the table to fit my needs. Sure is a lot easier to weld instead of the uneven concrete floor. That’s great to hear you made one yourself! They pay for themselves the first time you use it.😀👍

I love this! I need to get a welding table. I'm in the same boat as you, always on the ground welding.

Hey Elliot! Since I’ve built it, it’s been on of the most useful tools in the shop. It’s already paid for itself. I hope the video sparked some ideas for making one in your own shop. BTW a few weeks back I saw your video of ripping out that 12v Cummins to do a Ford swap. Gotta be honest Elliot, I’ve been jealous ever since🤣😂! If there’s ever enough spare change someday I’d like to do the exact same swap. Any idea how much HP/Torque you’re gonna crank that motor up to?

@@ydocproductions5593 I got a screaming deal on that truck, that's what sparked it. I paid $2,500 for it running/driving. ripped everything out and sold the roller for $700. For the first version of the build I'm going to aim for 500 hp, and after I get bored of that, the sky is the limit!

Looks great I need to build me one only problem I see is when you're welding splatter might go down in the threads and gum up

Thank you! As the old saying goes: “A grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain’t”🤣. Ya welding spatter messing up those threads is a real possibility. However worst case scenario I just run a tap through the hole again. Thanks for watching😀👍
