Ғылым және технология

The location of a disconnect that is not near the equipment must now be marked on the EVSE.

I am installing a 48Amp Emporia charger on the outside of my garage. I have an open 50Amp breaker in the box I am going to be using but the run of conduit and wire from the box in the laundry room through the garage to the far side of the garage is about 100ft. Is 6 gauge wire still ok for that length of run?

Watch my video on EV chargers. You need 60A, not 50A. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mm1qmdqnfrjLlrQ.htmlsi=YFnB4_pOMYTVpxxL

Hey so a charger that has a rating of 48amps max requires a 60amp breaker, do I still need the disconnect just because the breaker allows up to 60amps possible or does the device have to have a rating of 60amps? TIA

So if a circuit is 2phase 240Volts it needs one?

Two-phase power is only used in Phillidelphia and surrounding areas. I doubt very much that any manufacturer is making two-phase electric vehicle supply equipment.

@@justinjuarez1852 No, California does not use two-phase. Two-phase electric power was NEVER used in California because two-phase electric power has not been used in over 100 years, outside of Philidelphia and the surrounding areas, like South Jersey and Connecticut. So, what are you asking me? Are you talking about single-phase or are you talking about three-phase?

When I worked in industry I wasted a lot of time trying to find disconnects or breakers. I always wondered why things weren’t marked and I would write on the equipment where it was fed from once I figured that out. A question about wireless charging of EV batteries?? Wouldn’t that require some very powerful radio waves and wouldn’t this be dangerous??

It’s inductive, so it’s not dangerous as there is no way to get in the middle of an energy transfer. Think of it as a transformer where the primary is on the floor/ground and the vehicle drives over it an puts its transformer secondary in close proximity to the primary below. There’s a magnetic resonance (induction) coupling, but no conductors connect the supply to the vehicle.
