Congratulations on your new car. Personally I've owned 3 Audi A3s over the last 10 years. When I sat in this new one it was the final straw. There was blatant cost cutting in the interior over the the 2017 facelift MK 3 that I currently own. I could list 10 things specifically, also ergonomics seems to have gone out the window. Interestedly about the customer service issues you've experienced. Every time I've ended up trading in the car due to issues. MK 2, 2 valves in the engine failed in the diesel engine due to EA189 (emissions scandal) from the software update. Costing €2500. Air conditioning went in the MK 3 pre-facelift at 4 years which cost €1500 to fix. Also it had a leaking door seal they could never fix and the rear light stopped working costing €220 to fix. Now Mk 3 facelift both rear LED lights have developed condensation in the space of 6 months. They deny there is a design fault. Costed €700 for the 2 to be replaced. Google maps stopped working also in MK3 facelift. Was told by garage nothing could be done. Took making a complaint to Audi HQ to get it fixed. Automatic hand break sensor failed costed €350 to fix, 2 visits to the garage to be diagnosed as I was basically told I was imagining things. Finally replaced then 2 more repeat visits as twice the dashboard wasn't put back correctly. When I first bought an Audi you used to get offered a courtesy car for free when you'd be dropping your car off for a service. Now the courtesy car has to be booked 4 weeks in advance and costs €40. I totally get your view of the poor customer service. I was a very loyal Audi customer. But I finally have had it and I'm due to take delivery of a Volvo XC40 recharge in 3 weeks.

Thanks for watching buddy. Also thank you for taking the time out to share your experience. That in a nutshell sums up why on this car I had to take out the 5 year warranty I simply do not trust modern cars as far as I could throw them. I've got a 28 year old Toyota Supra and it's given me less issues! Volvo seems like a good sensible move 👍🏽

Thank you. Interesting to note the issues experienced by others around random warning lights! I have had multiple problems including warnings directing me to a dealers because the oil sensor had was not working. Just been in and had 3 software updates BUT oil warning still has no solution available. Had multiple issues with sat nav including sat nav failing during journey and making the loudest noise! No idea what that was about. Mentioned that during a hand car wash that water dripped from vent at back of rear view mirror - to be told car is due for recall! Unclear if they meant purely for this! However, the fault in windscreen relates to some sort of drip collection tube blocking and in some cars causing water to leak into footwells! My car now scheduled to have windscreen refitted and sealed......AUDI,,,,whatever next!

Very informative videos, I watch them instead of reading the handbook 😊. Just took delivery of my Python Yellow S3 Sportback with comfort and sound as well as driver assistance package 2 weeks ago and it looks stunning! First issue I noticed was that the ambient light option I had ordered wasn’t fitted! Back to the dealer with it and they checked the order to find it had been ordered when I placed my order in October last year. On further investigation they found in a bulletin that this option was no longer available from April this year but Audi had failed to notify me in person or the dealer that my car would be affected, so I have been refunded tho cost plus another £50 for the inconvenience. The next issue for me is that I cannot connect my car to myAudi account, I can see the car in the app and my name appears in the MMI but no way will it log me in the car. I have done the reset to factory settings but still won’t have it so it is having a day in the workshop on Thursday for further investigation! Today I noticed 2 sticky patch’s under the front number plate, looks like someone may have fitted the number plate in the wrong place, took it off and refitted but left the sticky patches on! That will be getting highlighted on Thursday!! Fingers crossed there isn’t anything else!!

Have been in contact with Audi about front seats on new A3 35-TFSI SLINE Sport the Audi dealer said he did not know what I was talking about and said that the front manual leather seats are per car.I pointed out that this car per spesification was electric seats and that Audi are aware of the problems on Electric seats and a small amount of A3 Audi cars where fitted with manual seats,I also said that I did contact Audi customer services and explained what you said on your KZread review I have also sent copy of your letter per screen shoot. This was then asked by the Audi Dearer to sent with all doc on car to them and will give reply between 7days or 10 days I feel that the Dealership are a bit negitive so any help towards this solution would be welcome.

On another note - recent customer service was quite good. However, when I bought car it was the opposite. I came so close to cancelling due to the salesmans banter and obvious lack of knowledge of both car and products. The pitch included - "it does not matter how much the car costs, its what you can afford in monthly payments that important!" I was bombarded with sales talk - it was like being on Ryan air when they try used to do a hard sell on sweets, lottery tickets, ice cram etc from the minute you took of to the minute you landed.

Great review thanks for the video. I’ve had my A3 s line since September but unfortunately had quite a few issues. The first and worst was an issue with the electrics in the rear windscreen that caused the car alarm to go off at 2am constantly starting the day after I took delivery. Audi took the car in and replaced the windscreen. However, the two black pieces of trim that fit onto either side of the rear windscreen could not be fitted back after removal. So they had to order new ones from Germany, these took 3 weeks to arrive. After some pushing I got a courtesy car and some money back. Second was some weird thing that happens with the MMI volume control after starting the car. The radio/media source is stuck on mute and cannot be changed. The only fix I’ve found is to park up and leave it for an hour and try again. No solution from Audi on this one despite software updates Third and final issue was squeaking mirrors, both squeaked like crazy a few months in and needed to be lubricated by Audi. Overall the car has been back to Audi about 10 times so far. Safe to say I’m disappointed after owning the old shape A3 s line which had no issues for me at least.

It seems you only know the true colours of a company when you experience issues.

I’ve had my 35 TFSI S tronic Edition 1 for just over 4 months. In general I love the car, it looks fantastic in tango red with the black accents. Panoramic sunroof and comfort & sound pack are lovely, but the best option I specced is the driver assistance pack. Adaptive cruise assist and lane assist are really helpful and make long motorway trips much easier and more pleasant. The Matrix headlights are amazing! Only problem for me is that the car hasn’t been as reliable as I expected it. Lots of problems with the MyAudi app, MMI system and annoying warning lights popping up randomly every now and then. I also totally agree on Audi customer services not really being up to standard for such a well established premium brand. With a price tag of nearly £38k, I would have expected a better car and a better service, but if I take into consideration all pros and cons, definitely there’s more pros than cons. It’s a very nice car, I just wish it was a bit more reliable.

Having some difficulties to adapt with the A3 headlights. When you start the engine it automatically goes to auto. Depending on the outside level of light it switches to sidelights automatically. But very often even if the outside light is quite bright it remains on both headlights and sidelights on. Even if i switch it manually to sidelights the car switches back to auto(both headlights and sidelights on). If i switch off all lights the car automatically switches back to auto. I was wondering if the outside light is not bright is there as way to either keep only sidelights on permanently or keeping all lights off?

Hi Guys, brilliant video, very informative and portrayed very well. I have a 35tfsi Sport model(manual) sportback on company lease from JCT600, who I work for. By the way, where did you get your car from? It has a very similar number plate to mine (I live in Lincolnshire). I have had mine now for 5 months(5000 miles) and had no issues whatsoever, the car has been perfect. I will be having another one and will be upgrading to a "S Line" and will have a saloon this time because I think they look nicer. Great Video Thanks. I've had my Turbo Blue S Line with Manual Gearbox for a few weeks now - glad to report that there have been no issues. With regard to the navigation - I tend to use the voice command - hit the switch on the steering wheel, say the destination, within a couple of secs the MMI displays the list - select the destination and your away. I cannot find a definitive answer re the electronic handbrake and whether you should manually release it or is it OK to just drive off and let it automatically disengage - the User Handbook isn't clear and seems to advise both options...... My trusty Red 2003 A3 8L 1.9TDI is still on the drive behind the new car ..... does anyone think that it will become a classic? (looking for an excuse to keep it). Hi Dilek, Thanks for watching, hope you've subscribed for more content and watched the latest video - it was special - we now purchased another A3 (vorsprung model) because we love the car so much! We had a mini cooper s (r56) and although we loved the car... The difference is night and day between the two. For us getting the latest mini would not feel like a change, and we had every oil leak/coolant leak imaginable with the mini. In fact I spent a week last summer repairing it myself and it was awful as I had to literally remove the front of the car. That's why we purchased brand new this time. The A3 just felt like a breath of fresh air in terms of styling exterior and interior so we took the chance and love it! It has got some warning light issues, but this hopefully gets worked out soon - even my mini threw up warning lights every now and then (it's part of modern cars I guess) In terms of comfort, the mini was not the best - moving to the Audi, weve done multiple 5+ hour road trips and not had a single complaint 😎

@Phil Moran ah yes! My new one was there for approx 5 weeks before finally being shipped over (not sure if you've seen the latest video) It should be with you soon - I can see others are being delayed roughly 4-5 weeks too before it gets to the UK

Cars now sold bud, got fed up with the way Audi were treating us over all the issues. There's a lot of other cars you can get used and approved for the same if not cheaper than what the A3 costs. I test drove the 128ti, and liked the way it felt solid as a car. Personally I'm not a fan of its styling though.

I bought the brand new A3 two months ago and to be honest I don’t like it how it drives and thinking of selling it. I feel disconnected from the car, I don’t feel the road while driving it, I don’t feel the feedback from the steering wheel, all in all I do not enjoy the driving and I miss my old car :( so disappointed and should have never bought it.

Hey bro, we've just sold ours due to the poor customer service and ongoing issues. I must admit I've not missed it anywhere as much as I thought we would. A car needs to "speak to you" and have a personality. Somehow after two of these in less than 12 months I feel we struggled to gain that bond. If you're in the UK have a look at we buy any car, that's who we sold ours too and made some money on top!

@@CRD90 there is also no bond between me and my A3 as well. It feels like the car is driving me and not me driving the car, there’s no love, there’s no excitement and pleasure of driving and the biggest issue for me is that dead steering wheel through which I do not feel anything, as if I am driving a car in a computer game, I do not feel the road through the steering wheel. I wanna feel the engine behind the gas pedal, road and wheels behind the steering wheel, I wanna hear the engine, nothing of that is in the A3 💔😔 I will sell it and go back to my old Renault Megane, I love that car.

I know exactly what you mean, it lacks soul. My old supra and mx5 make my drive much more enjoyable yet they take much more effort. I think now is the best time to sell as the second hand market is higher than usual.

Hi Gunstar, thanks for watching - hope you've subscribed for more content and to help us grow 👍🏽 Honestly I think the Audi is better looking than the BMW, I prefer the modern slick interior and the aggressive styling. The BMW is nice, but I'm not a fan of the large front grill vents. The comfort and sound pack is my must have upgrade so it sounds like a good deal. Can you can an electric version? That's even cheaper because of benefit in kind tax (if in the UK)
