Another nice demo, Auzzam 👏🏻 I specced the driver assistance pack, primarily for the adaptive cruise (which was on my “must have” list). I find that, when it’s active, it also adjusts the car speed for bends, junctions (moreso when a destination is set in the sat nav) and roundabouts. On dual carriageways the adaptive cruise also avoids undertaking, whilst showing a car in the right hand lane in the VC display. I have also noticed that, even when cruise control is off, then when taking my foot off the accelerator with a car in front of me down a hill that the A3 seems to match its speed. And when lifting off on approach to a junction the A3 slows to an appropriate speed for it (if you do so in sufficient time). Like you, I have noticed a few times the A3 auto-setting the wrong speed limit. At least once it read the speed limit sign on the back of a lorry! Also when choosing to ignore a turning that the sat nav wants you to take, the cruise control starts slowing for the junction that you aren’t intending to turn at, requiring a bit of accelerator peddle to override. So I agree that you need to keep your wits about you a little, especially when getting used to it. But on the whole it is an excellent system that takes some of the effort out of driving longer distances and I use it on all but the shortest journeys.

Thanks Adam, and a really nice and detailed real-world example. The lorry sign made me LOL! I genuinely love the feature, so glad it was on the vorsprung. On the edition1 we thought we wouldn't need it but that's because I'd never had any form of adaptive cruise control before. Will struggle to go back from these "nice to haves"

GREAT VIDEO. I have had my A4 Allroad for 6 months and after seeing your video finally understand the driver assist package. One thing that I would like to point out is that when on the speed sign control the car sometimes reads the exit lane speed sign like from 70MPH to 40 MPH for the exit and there is quite an abrupt application of breaks.

Audi's marketing department should give you a call. Their "selling" of these systems is akin to talking about a new door handle, instead of explaining in detail bold, new safety features.

Loving the content mate. This one has been super informative as I just noticed that adaptive lane assist button on the stalk and had no idea what it was. I just have the s-line so I’ll be taking it out to see how well (if at all) it uses this feature

Love my E1. The Driver Assistance Pack is simply incredible. Big annoyance for me is the Lane departure guidance. Don’t like it at all and it doesn’t let you turn it off permanently. It resets on each journey.

@@rhyslaming9038 definitely agree with what you've heard bud. I'm nearly 3 months into my vorsprung still waiting on them to fix some scratches that car was delivered with. I hope they fix the issues before you get the car as the after sales support is lacking from what I would expect from a premium brand.

I’ve been getting error messages this past week in the dash telling me the traffic sign recognition thing isn’t working, and also the main screen keeps giving me the “no data connection could be established” msg. Any idea what that’s about??

Great video mate! I'm looking to ordering an A3 Saloon Edition 1 very soon. I just have one question seen as you have driven one for a short while. How is the cars drive? Is it bumpy etc because of the 19inch alloys and how effective is comfort mode in reducing the bumpiness of the ride?

Sorry for the very late reply! - the ride was fine for the car, nothing too bumpy and that was driving in economy/dynamic. Of course I've always had cars with low profile tyres so am used to it. But I would say nothing to be worried about.

i like this video, i got my Skoda superb march 2020 with no hand over. Skoda don't have any of this info and the hand book is rubbish, it shows all models and even my wife who is a lawyer finds it of little use. lucky for me all the gadgets are Audi made.

Thanks bud. Not as far as I'm aware, I would triple check and get it in writing. Audi are useless for knowing the cars they sell. Still not available on the flat bottom wheel from when I last remember. (Difference in sensors)

You should try attaching a sausage to the steering wheel, to see if it thinks you are still holding it 🤣 (Credits to my dealer who told me this worked on the flat steering wheel, hence why they improved the sensor's and now only the round one is available with this pack) About the traffic stop 10sec thing, i sure hope this can be modified with VCDS or OBD11 (i will be buying an OBD11 once it's working so i can keep you updated on that if you want)

Great video! But I am confused. I have an Audi Q2 and it has ACC, Radar, Camera etc. But there is no speed sign feature even in the menu. I believe that it is capable of it. Also I can not see any buyable feature on myAudi app. What am I missing? Maybe a system update? Thanks

Hi thanks bud, this vorsprung model in the video had the capability for the camera. It's not necessarily always present along side radar guided cruise control.

Your comment about flat steering wheels being unable to use the Driver Assistance Package is incorrect: I find most 2018+ cars (I'm looking for an RS5) have the flat bottom with the DA Package, at least in the U.S.

This pack is brilliant, I had it on my last car but it was one option too many on my S3 😢 I really miss the speed recognition and why doesn’t sat nav show it, probably to make you spend more money 👍

Definitely agree it's a money making thing. So if you look on the website and manual it suggests as standard the speed limit should be there on the sat nav. But their get out of jail card apparently is that this only applies to cars without the front facing camera... Which all of the cars have because we have the pre-sense function lol. Cheeky yet again!

@CRD Hi, I have a question about lane assist. Today I drove Q3 SP with driver assist package but no cameras. The car did steer on it's own when both lines were green but very often got past line and only then corrected it, which was to late for real use. I did not see any green triangles at any time on virtual cockpit as you have. What I am asking is do you think that those triangles come with the cameras and will the car then be able to hold itself better on the lane as the car only equipped with driver assist package and no cameras? Hope you've subscribed for more content and to help us grow 😊 One of two things on there, if the stalk had the increase distance toggle then the car definitley should of had the lane keep assist function. It may have needed to be switched on as by default it is off. The way you have described it sounds like the land departure warning which as you correctly mentioned is a last minute correction to prevent you going into the wrong lane. I've got a demo of it here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGF-ttaSk63OqdY.html They both use the same technology and cameras but it's a case of whether the car had the additional pack which then gives the extra toggle on the cruise control lever. The car I drove definitely had increase distance toggle as I used it many times but regarding the lane it looked much more like on the second video from the link you sent me, so green lines but no triangles. Do you know what this triangles stand for and which technogoly makes them possible? I have to order my car soon and I chose basicaly every option of additional equipment but now I am affraid my car won't driver itself like yours and I don't know why.

@@matevzbanko1395 if it had the toggle then the green lines should be part of it too. If you see in the video I actually have to turn it on. Once you turn it on, it says lane assist active with lane guidance then the arrows appear and that's when it drives itself within the lane. When I got my car this was turned off and it wasn't clear how to turn this on, but you do it from the side of the indicator stalk 👍🏽

I just got the 2019 Audi a6 prestige And it doesn’t seem to have this package. Do I just go to Audi to have it installed ?

I don't believe it will be as straightforward as that, it will be very expensive if your car is already missing the radar equipment. There may be other companies that can do a specialist retrofit though.

Great video, thank you. I started trying adaptive drive assist and it is great. I do notice some flaws which I find it annoying and can be dangerous. When I set my crusing speed to say 100 km on the highway, and when my camera detected a speed sign that say 40 kim (for an off ramp speed), my speed drops immediately and I notice a sudden pull back, even though I'm not exiting the ramp and was just going straight. If there was a car close behind me, they can be a very hazardous situation as the car behind me wouldn't know why I suddenly brakes. Not sure anyone encountered this, so I am tempted to turn off traffic sign recognition, now sure whether that will help.

@@trinhk thanks bud, unfortunately we ended up selling the car due to some issues we were having with it - so I can no longer film new videos. There's a demo of it at the end of this video. But I remember it was the same thing lol, I kept my foot very close to the brake just in case I thought "oh sh*t" this might not stop 🤣

I feel like I got a whole tutorial on how to use the car before I even received it! Thank you! I'm just struggling to turn on the lane centring function. I have the button with the arrows but pressing it does nothing. I tried searching online and in the owner manual but I can't figure out why it won't work for me. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

@@CRD90 it's a UK car. I've got the departure warning. It steers me back into the lane once I've already crossed the line but it doesn't steer for me the way yours did in the video. I can't figure out if I'm missing something or if it's defect.

On an unrelated topic, how big is the issue of the SOS message? How often does it pop up on the instrument cluster? If you press the sos button on the roof and use that method to get rid of the message does it re-appear in the future?

Depends where you live, London seems worse than other areas due to the built up area. Once you've got rid of it using the trick it won't show up that same journey. This is supposed to be getting worked on according to my local service centre and the rumour is a fix within the next quarter.

It's an optional extra, has to be spec'd. I think the latest cars have had the same stalk put in due to shortages but that's why it will be disabled on the car. If you did have it equipped as an optional extra, then Audi should have enabled the license for you 👍🏽

Why does it disengage after 10 seconds? How does it do changing lanes, making left and right hand turns, traffic lights and stop signs?

I can only imagine it's for safety reasons. It's not auto-pilot like a Tesla, and can't automatically change lanes or take left / right turns. It can only help keep you in lane around slight bends but don't expect it to take a full turn for you 👍

Naturally if you hit pot holes or really rough roads you will feel the bumps a bit more due to the low profile tyres. This case absolutely needs 19s as the 18" wheels look small especially with the standard suspension

Hi , I’m just about to order a brand new A3 but the edition 1 and I have asked for lane assistance in the sense I said can I have the package that includes the blind spot detection and the dealer has come back and said they don’t do a kind spot detection system on the new A3 ! Clearly I saw it on your last A3 and I can now see it on your vorsprung so does he just not know what he is talking about, ???? Thanks man I’m grateful for your help ,

Hey Neil it is now currently only on the vorsprung :( They've removed it from the configurator probably due to rationing the microchips. It's the same with the panoramic roof too, currently only on the vorsprung. You're not a teacher/emergency services worker by any chance are you? - or someone in your household. There's big discounts to be had if you are 👍🏽

I don't think it does, never got it to work on the 35tfsi we fitted the tuning box too a few weeks back, instead it feels like the clutch is burning so definitely not recommended

Hey bud, you need the driver assistance pack for the speed limit bits and unfortunately no tyre pressures are shown. It only stores them hidden from the user and will alert you when one of the tyres lose pressure. The frustrating thing is it won't even tell you which tyre has lost pressure and just puts up a generic tyre pressure warning. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I'm just worried about the comfort of the ride and also heard that it isn't great on fuel as its petrol. What do you think?

@@avaissaleem8605 I average 30-35mpg around town and up to 50 on the motorway so no complaints on fuel! Glad you've found the videos useful,when is your build date? I've heard there is a delay on the parts needed for the panoramic roof so they're delaying some cars

On the current shape cars, this was called the drivers assistance pack (in the UK)

@@CRD90 my journeys consist of a lot of round abouts and traffic lights where I'm often the first car waiting at red lights, can it detect these things? I'd imagine not lol

@@taylorthrall7321 lol no, definitley not at a red light, it's scary when it doesn't act the way you want it to.

Audi does really truly bad and probably ten years back than the competitors BMW and Mercedes. No auto lane keeping, no auto lane changing, pity for the Audi drivers.
