    This is a nice workout session Ben. I am going to have to try it. It doesn't seem incredibly strenuous and is at about the right volume for me right now. I see that you are using the carbon plated shoes more often in training. Do they still break down after a 100 - 150 miles? I know some of the initial Nike shoes had this issue (apparently). I haven't upgraded to the carbon plated shoes, preferring fairly bulky trainers for every day running and speed sessions and saving the racing flats for 5K / 10K races. As always, I enjoy your videos and watch each and every one of them.

    Have you tried the Endorphin pro plus? I also found it a bit slippery for track sessions on the curves doing 400's. But for road runs its by far my favorite shoe over the vaporfly's even, especially for longer faster runs. I really enjoyed the foam and the upper. Haven't tried the 3's yet but might give em a go. Thanks for your review!

    I’m just waiting on some pro 3s being delivered. Not because I’m any good at running or want to compete but because they’re supposed to be light, fun, bouncy, propulsive, comfortable, good at all paces and quite stable. I just wanted to try a super shoe and this seemed like the one. In terms of the cost running is an extremely cheap sport and I got 10% off somehow.

    All of the major brands' super shoe offerings seem like very good options. I think it all boils down to 2 things: fit/comfort and durability. I would say one last factor would be price, but unfortunately, most, if not all, super shoes are expensive.

    I just upgraded from my Speed 1 to Speed 2 on sale. Love them. Looking forward to trying the Speed 3. Not sure I would ever go to Pro styles - partly because they are so $$$, don't like that stack height, and really not sure as a slower runner if there is any point in a carbon plate shoe for me.

    I'm a fairly new runner, started running in April and have my biggest race yet planned in October (10 Miles). I currently run in the Pegasus 38s; is there any recommendation or advise for when to keep the Nikes for daily/training but maybe upgrade to a pricier / speed-orientated shoe for race days? I'm hesitant to make the jump as I don't want to feel like they're wasted on me whilst I'm still quite new? If that makes sense? Big fan of your channel, picked up loads of tips and snippets of advise over the past few months from your recent and older content!

    @@Chunkyfunk01 I would vouch for this. I use them for my tempo sessions but no reason not to use them for races. Before I got my pair of vaporflies I ran a 18:45 5k and a 30:45 5 Mile race in the endorphin speed. I've gotten faster since then but they can definitely handle pace

    I’d say anyone who enjoys running and is looking to get the best out of there race is certainly worth a pair of speed focused shoes. Something like the saucony speed would be great for racing but also for any faster tempo work you do in your training. If moneys no issues get a carbon racing shoe for sure as they certainly make the difference regardless of how fast you run in my opinion. Something like the ASICS Metaspeed sky+ or the adidas pro 3 would be great options :)

    With this session do you think it is a great predictor for the 5k? I am much slower but I can consistantly run close to 3:20-3:25 on my reps. Do you think that means I'm close to sub 17 shape? I do 1 minute rest in between

  • @TimNguyen825

    @TimNguyen825

    Жыл бұрын

    I personally think so. Depending on what your PRs are and your general fitness I think you are in the low 17s to sub 17. It takes 3:24/k to run 17 so if you can average 3:20ish in practice or maybe a little faster you can go sub 17

  • @Chasery

    @Chasery

    Жыл бұрын

    @@TimNguyen825 okay thank you. My PR's are actually very high since I took a break fron running road 5k's (I'm going into my freshman year of college) since I had cross country, track, and focused on 10k to half marathon for a while. I just want to break 17:30 in all honesty because my PR is only 18:25 and it was during an 8k. Since I can hit 3:20s I think hopefully I can put it together on race day and run 17:30>

  • @BenIsRunning

    @BenIsRunning

    I’d say it’s a good predictor yes however it does depend how much your putting into the reps. If you going all out then that’s likely to be a little faster than your 5k pace
