Axle lift should be no-straps only. Half the point of the difficulty is the size of the bar, but with the straps, it might as well be a normal bar.

  • @andrewkozemchok6793

Straps are such a weird thing in general. Not hating on them, but its almost like a bench shirt for your deadlift. everyone hates the bench shirt (me too) but the straps always get a pass. I get it takes the stress off of your grip and lets you engage more back, but isn't the whole point of a deadlift to see how much weigh you can pick up? Also people always hate on Sumo deadlift or Trap bar deadlift but are totally ok with straps, its in the same boat of subjective advantage equiptment/technique.

@@andrewkozemchok6793 I like straps in general for regular dead lift, or the record becomes a grip strength challenge, whereas with the straps more of your full body is involved. Just axles and thick bars like that should be different.

still the current tandem WR holder for deadlift , many grip strength records, Felix did it all while having a day job as a plasterer, think about that, no really think on that, he's a plasterer that is breaking records and holding his own in top strongman competitions at the age of 57 and has never had the privilege of just being able to focus on Strongman. if he did earlier what could he have achieved?
