I would advise against playing Bc4 against the Sicilian because e6, d5 forces you to move your bishop.

I don't play against humans that often but the last time I did I had 4 checkmate misses. When the clock starts running low it's like being a deer in the headlights.

Hello again! 0:06 1. e4 c5 is called the sicilian defense. Your third move Bc4 makes it the Old Sicilian Variation apparently (I had to check myself). More popular are 3. d4 (Open Sicilian) or 3. Bb5 (Rossolimo). But if it works for you keep playing it like you do. Opening theory at the 500 elo level is pretty much superfluous. 0:51 Yeah, that's tragic. The bright side is you at least didn't blunder the Queen or the fork Nxc2+. 1:41 The pawn wasn't actually free, because after you saved your bishop he could get the pawn back with Rxb2. 2:55 At that point your rook wasn't yet needed to defend (Your Queen and King manage that nicely). I'm not sure, but I think I like the a more active move better. Rb7+ for example forces his King to f8, which makes his Rook look very sad. (Ke8 loses if I'm not overlooking anything. I'm thinking after 1. Rb7+ Ke8 2. Qb5+ Kf8 (Kd8 and Qd7#) 3. Qxc5+ Ke8 4. Qc8+ Qd8 5. Bb5+ Kf8 6. Qxd8#) 3:27 Not taking might be better here, pinning the bishop. 4:13 Again: tragic. Sometimes you see the unprotected pieces, sometimes you do not. From your last video I remember a couple of instances where you didn't take free material too. Maybe looking systematically for unprotected material might be worthwhile as a way to train. I'm thinking about actively thinking after every move "Is the piece that moved now undefended?" and "Did the piece that moved defend sonething before which is undefended now?" just to help you be aware of undefended pieces until your board vision is good enough for it to be automatic. 4:55 Noooo!! Losing on time sucks. How unfortunate.

A couple of additions after checking with an engine: 1:41 Ba6 is a blunder due to Qa5+. 2:55 I should address what happens after 1. Rb7+ Be7: 2. d6 Qxd6 3. Bc4+ skewering King and Rook. After the king moves you play 4. Bxg8 Kxg8 5. Qc4+ to bring your Queen into the attack with tempo. Try to exchange Queens next and win with your extra exchange and passed pawns.

Hi trews! 0:06 Yeah what I meant is that I play almost always E4, Nf3 and then bishop to either C4 or B5, probably 95% of my white games start like this 🤣 And yes, I think that learning openings is not the best thing to do at the moment for me to improve. I just play this opening because it feels safe and it's easy to develop. 0:51 Phew, didn't even see that 1:41 Oh, I see, it wasn't free at all 😤 2:55 Yeah I sometimes react to what the opponent is doing too much and not focusing on my own attack or strengths in my position.. 3:27 Yep, seems good, I just panic and take without thinking 🤣 4:13 Yes, I do miss free pieces quite a lot and training like that would be really worthwhile. Need to be more aware. 4:55 Classical IdiotChess game Thanks for the analysis and tips again I really do appreciate it!
