Everyone has to make money....Marketing is what it is, you take the sponsers you can get....Nobody forces anyone to buy any products, you really think we see what lures KVD really throws? He won a Classic on a 70's Rogue while pitching the Strike King Jerkbait in every magazine, show etc...Majority of lures guys use here in Florida to win money, rarely the ones they speak about at the ramp....If you are sponsered by Yum, or BPS for example...You don't think they have some Yamamoto products in the boat or only thowing Stik'os and dingers...Just saying. I never believe anything I read or hear from a pro regarding brands. I assume if throwing a mid-deep crankbait, they are throwing the proven models from Bomber, Rapala, Norman, Poe's, SK XD....Maybe a new Berkley or Spro, but either custom balsa cranks, something modified....They rarely are throwing the Ima $20 Crankbait they claim.

@@ldsudduthhanover In all seriousness, who is building rods in the USA? Reels? I believe just about every company has production off shore in either China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Vietnam etc...As long as they company has good quality control, I believe the engineers in other countries are as good as any. Unfortunately, mostly R&D is done in USA and then they use overseas companies, otherwise you would be paying crazy money for same rod made in USA...Not all China products are Junk. Cheap reels are cheap reels, a $200 rod made overseas is a good rod if QC is good along with warranty etc....At least Roland is not pitching Livingston or Live Target.

@@jeffh2732 oh yea.... just because someone is sponsored by Company X doesnt mean that those are the only products that they use.... those are just ones that they are photographed with and advertise.

@@jeffh2732 honestly..... I have a "cheap" Korean reel that I bought on Amazon for less than $40 that (in my opinion) fishes better than my buddy's Shimano or my Daiwas. And the best part about it is if I drop in the lake, run over it with the truck, or have to drop it and run for whatever reason I'm not out a car payment.
Damn - look at that Rod collection..
The pegged Texas rig explanation was genius. These old school guys don't mess around. They catch biggin! Thanks Roland!

We also used tooth picks and cut the excess off with scizzors. I just heard him say what I did. Lol I'm 75 and been watching him and Jimmy and Bill Dance. Farther back is the American Angler John Fox.
Thanks for all you do Roland! I spent Christmas 24th, 25th and 26th on Kissimmee, Toho and the Butler Chain. No 10 pounders but had a total Blast. I just retired and moved to Lake Eufaula, AL! SWEET HOME!
I was an Air Force Weapons Instructor between Nov 1980 and 1992 proud to hear of your service ! Thanks !!
When he said ....”25 miles an hour, (leans into the camera) GO HOME.” I spit my water out laughing 😂😂😂😂😂
6 am and 18 degrees outside. I can sit here with my coffee, my woodstove and my favorite dog and listen to Roland Martin all day. There is something real and genuine in his words. He’s still got it and I’m really glad to have found these new videos.

Pink during the spawn is a priceless tip. Thanks Roland!
Roland, I am 56y.o. And you taught me how to fish for bass! Thank you for all you have done to teach people HOW TO FISH!
Thanks Roland!! You are still teaching me stuff even after 40 years. You are one of the great ones and have so much knowledge to share. Keep up the content please!
The tips and the specific 'how to' style of this video are exactly what so many people want and appreciate. So many other people who produce fishing videos never get into the specifics because they are afraid of giving away their so called secrets. I'm an ametuer and need all the help I can get. Thank you Mr. Martin this was really helpful.
I worked on sugar cane farm and met Roland at a fish camp in Clewiston and talked to him again at Jack Wingate s lunker lodge always my favorite TV Fisher person. Just found his videos on KZread love it.
I just want to let you know I'm grateful for your videos because I don't have any grandparents or any good bass fisherman in my family to learn all these cool tricks from. Me and my dad have the trout fishing down but as far as bass fishing you're my go-to guy

It's strange but my father didn't fish!
It’s funny how watching you has brought back memories from when I was a kid watching you on TV with my dad on the weekends we weren’t out fishing. Thank you for making these videos
I wish I could have seen this 40 years ago! The best advice on worm fishing Ive ever seen. Thanks Mr. Martin. You’re still a Great teacher! I’m still laughing at “what if winds 25 mph..Go Home 😂.. Beautiful! God Bless 🎣
I was just thinking out loud, "I really like this Roland guy. He's a great teacher." Because honestly, most bass KZreadrs are kinda stingy when it comes to advice. And I get it; they're a tournament fisherman, and they don't wanna give all their tips and tricks away... fair enough. But damn man. Not only do they keep what tackle they use a secret, but they won't even explain what they're doing and how to fish it. Just highlights of them catching fish. Well heck Roland doesn't seem to mind at all. He'll show us and teach us everything he knows, just to help us catch bass. So thank you! I really appreciate your videos! You've helped me a lot.

I'm laughing at his 25 mph wind on the Big O go home! Very funny stuff.
YOU ARE THE MAN MR ROLAND ! Thanks for all the knowledge !
Roland, I’ve been a fan since I was a kid, probably 30+ years ago. I used to wake up and watch you on ESPN outdoors on Saturday morning, and I really enjoyed watching you catch the “big ol bass”. Thanks for all the tips and letting kids like me travel along with you to fish the waters of the US. I was happy to watch this KZread video and learn you are a military veteran like myself. After all these years, I just finally learned you served. Thanks for the all the fishing tips and for serving our country.
I’m 76 and was catching big bass before I heard if you. But I have enjoyed all these years of watching and learning from one of the premiere fisherman, especially bass fishing. Stay well Hal
Every time I go bass fishing all my fishing buddies are gone now. I fish in your honor now. Thank you for a lifetime of teaching me to fish.
Like everyone else I agree..you're the best Roland. Your skill and enthusiasm for all things fishing is unmatched.

one of the best fishing channels on youtube. i dont feel like i'm just watching an infomercial.
Great tutorial! There's years worth of knowledge wrapped into 14min! Keep em coming!
thanks for the tips man. Love the unintended humour. ie," The deal isn't really much but i like the product". too funny
Hard to argue with a legend! God bless Roland, keep the information and videos coming!!!
I just want to say that you are a genius I watched your video last night for the first time an I listened to every word you said. This morning I left my house an told my son we’re gonna catch the biggest fish ever today. It rained the whole day an still I stayed determined. I caught the biggest bass of my life. 12 inches an had to be over 10 pounds I was shaking I was so excited an my kid was also. An I just wanted to say thank you for making our day
I’m a bass fishing noob, I use to only use crank baits and if I caught a bass than I caught one. Yesterday I used a wacky worm rig and with in 20 min I had 2 smash it. Now I’m on KZread finding and learning so much info about bass fishing. I’m not to sure who this guy is but he makes me just want to learn more and more. Seems like a great teacher and I’m looking forward to watching more of his videos. I’m hooked to the point I went out and bought a trolling motor for my kayak, can’t wait to get back on the water.
Man these are some of the best tips I've seen in days of researching bass fishing, thanks so much Roland

Hey Roland Ive been watching you since you and jimmy were on top every year. Not only have you been an icon but your charisma has kept you top on my list allways.I currently live in naples and I cant wait for the day I get to shake your hand for all you have done. Ps the proof of your class shows in your son Scott who I cherish to meet too. you are one of the greatest REAL people I could ever think of,and still helping people catch fish. YOU GO MAN thx Ray
Roland we love ya buddy your a good man and a hell of a fisherman!!!
I greatly appreciate your down to earth practical advise. I see a lot of excessive analytical fishing techniques on the Internet which at times might be interesting; however, when it comes down to learning something of value that I can immediately go out, put to use and catch bass, you always come through. Thank you!
Love Rolands channel, met him years ago at a BASS tournament on lake Sinclair in Milledgeville Ga, and what a true gentleman.
Roland you are a legend! Thanks for ur content!
Been watching you fish and learning from you for decades. Glad to see you’re still at it. Thanks.
Luv the coloring line tip. Thanks Roland!
Thank you sir! Going to use some of this advice in the morning.
Great video Mr. Martin and thank you for your service! You are like a fishing encyclopedia, keep the videos coming!
Great to see you on here. You, Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston are responsible for my bass fishing addiction. I've caught many bass since 1970 but will never forget my first. Caught it on a purple worm. Thank you for being a teacher. Old Scott is a pretty good bass catcher. He sure reminds me of you from back in the good old days.
Thanks for the tips mr. Martin
Hell yeah Mr. Martin ! I learn so much from watching your videos. Thank you for your service, still the best angler out there on KZread hands down.

This guy is a legend. You can tell how he talks that he has earned this knowledge with the rod in his hand. Always try to tap into Mr Martin when the bite slows and you need to step back and think. Great vid. Glad we all have fishing to enjoy
Roland Jimmy and bill paved the way for the future anglers out here. Without them noone would even know bass exist.
