OMG I was audited by the IRS regarding all my make up I had written off as a working model/actress at the time doing 30 shows a year. Then disallowed all $5000 worth because they said it could also be worn as personal. So I learned you have to call them "theatrical cosmetics" not make up and I got the IRS negotiated to just me owing $800 bucks for the disallowments, even though I had all my proof of show incomes. The IRS is such a bitch.

Ayn Los Angeles I appreciate you sharing this story; even though I'm not in the same industry, I found this really insightful just to be aware of what can happen. Sorry it happened to you, but I hope this past year has been better!

Good informative video but a good tax professional can be your best friend when you are starting up, I am a tax professional and I have connected many businesses that are now thriving besides keeping them out of trouble. A good tax professional wants to see you grow and will give you tips here and there, it's also good to build a relationship and have someone trustworthy tax pro, last but not least, as your business grow, a good tax pro will let you know when the account becomes too complicated for his/her capacity.

What would be considered a LOT MORE MONEY THEN THE AVERAGE SALARY? This seems to be the golden questions that no one wants to answer. What is the savings percentage on the dividend vs paying all net as self employment tax?

Unfortunately, I live in FLORIDA and I am worry because I received a letter from IRS telling me that I owe $1000.50, and I don’t have a dollar to my name. I received $1015 and my spouse $398 for social security. My house is in foreclosure, I had not pay any of my credit cars, and I had expend a lot of money buying nursing courses, because my goal is to return to work. We are NOT making ends meet with just the social security that we are receiving. Do you think you can help me? I would great.y appreciate it. G. Perez
