So you said that we can draw money to pay ourselves whenever we want, but what if you haven’t paid income and self employment tax for the profits yet? How would this work for an LLC (sole proprietor) that isn't making much money? Another question is if they taxed a business not making over $500 as they are making $500, should paying taxes be more important than distribution if there is small revenue? Under $500 meaning first year start, and mostly expenses paid out of personal funds.

  • @allupinyobiz

    @allupinyobiz

    6 жыл бұрын

    It's going to vary a LOT depending on the attorney. My fees generally work out to be about $1500 total per trademark and that includes doing a clearance search, filing the application, and responding to non-substantive office actions. Some attorneys charge a lot more than that, but they may include additional services. Some may charge a lot less, but usually they are ONLY filing the application for you. It's important to not just ask about the cost, but make sure you understand everything that is included and what you're expecting to get out of it.

    duh.. you are still an "employee".. just you are not working for someone else, but yourself. Depending how you pay yourself.salary(through payroll cheque), dividend or pay out as a distribution. Which one you choose determines the rate of which you are taxed. For example as an employee in X state has to pay(hypothetically) 40% tax of which if you pay yourself as an employee you'd deduct off your pay cheque through your human resources or you have to set that aside for tax time. As a distribution or dividend you could possibly take your tax % anywhere from 0 to aprox 15%. Or never take out any "capital gains" and never pay tax ;)

    Great Video, very informative! The question I have is why do you get taxed as a S-Corp if the distribution as a LLC is so flexible?

    Good question! For many, the S Corp election can greatly reduce the overall tax bill. So that benefit usually outweighs the downside of the extra hassle. Check this video out, it may help kzread.info/dash/bejne/lXh219Wpfq_gis4.html Thanks for watching and for the kind comment!

    Can I deposit my check into my business LLC? I'm in the entertainment business and need to attend trade shows and film festivals but my business doesn't have any money but these expenses are real.

    That's a rather impertinent question since you don't know her personally, or were you not taught basic social etiquette as a child, like don't ask strangers personal questions? Some of us were not because we had entitled parents who asked entitled, inappropriate, inpertinent questions of strangers they'd never met yet felt oddly entitled to know the personal details of their lives anyway? People change names for a variety of reasons... ...death ...divorce ...scandal (imagine being a serial killer's wife...and trying to get a job after that) ...safety (domestic violence, INTERNET STALKER) ...marriage ...name change ...witness protection I don't know you...or her...but I know one thing, and that is that this is NOT a lifestyle channel. She has *very intentionally NOT* invited us into her personal life to experience it with her. If she wants to announce why she has publicly changed her name, and it may not be the ASSumption you are making, she will tell us. There are A LOT of sickos in this world, especially online. A young, attractive woman must be careful *anywhere* she lives, but especially what she reveals to the world online.

    Wait...why would you *willingly* pay yourself a "bonus" taxed at 22%??? This makes ZERO sense to me... If you're a CPA reading this comment for some reason, feel free to tell me what I missed...
