In this video we cover 5 mods that I would change on my 2021 Silverado Custom Trail Boss. These are all mods I picked out for this truck at one point in time... But there are a few that I would like to change. Let me know what you think.

Great honest video..
I just replaced my 20” wheels with 17s. Got a flat tire at 45,000 miles on the truck, perfect opportunity to swap out tires and wheels. It looks soo sexy now. Looks squatty, but lifted. I got methods on the BFG All-terrain CLASSIC pattern. Looks soo sick now. I wish I could fit bigger tires, but I’m maxed out on a trail boss standard lift.

Did the methods fit without spacers?

@@limitedslipautomotive with the set up I bought, no spacers needed. I bought method MR305 NV - 17 x 8.5 (0 offset) on 285/70R17 and there’s no rubbing. I didn’t want to do trimming. There’s a huge difference in look. It went from looking like ‘cookie tires’ to truly looking like meaty 33s are on it.
Just bought a 21 Trail boss 5.3 . Coming from a life of heavily modified toyotas and jeeps. The chevy community is def different. I like this video so sending comments you way. Useless comment #2

I’ve had mine for about 8 months now decided to get the amp research running boards and they have yet to disappoint!

Did you install them yourself?
I have the Pulsar for mine. It's awesome.

Torn between the $300 for the Pedal Commander or $550 for the Pulsar and pulling all the other stuff out.

@@limitedslipautomotive I got mine used but with the box and paperwork. Found it in Facebook Marketplace for about half price, if I remember correctly. Look for used first.

I had a pedal commander on my tacoma, and I used it for 3 months and got rid of it. It was giving me some problems. I bought a pulsar LT, and I tell you it's way better than the pedal commander. If you want the best you have to pay. I learned my lesson the hard way, going cheap doesn't always save you money, you end up spending more when it doesn't work as good, Buying the right parts is. I bought my pulsar the second day I got my 2020 trail boss 5.3L I recommend you buy the pulsar LT, save your money, and it has a lot more settings you can change with one controller.
Nice! I got a 2019 Custom Trail Boss double cab in Red Hot. 3.5 years and 38k miles later...not one issue. We drive it everywhere. Glad I got mine before the prices shot up and you can only get the Crew Cab now, so it's rare to see a Double Cab CTB on the road.

I see a double cab every now and then, have to double take sometimes. Glad you’ve had 38k trouble free miles. Congrats on a beautiful truck!
I just want to see how you get the motorbike in and out.

I have a small folding ramp that sits on the back of the tailgate. I use the motorcycle stand as a step and simply roll it in and out. Takes a bit of practice but I've been doing it for many years.

@@limitedslipautomotive I have a Honda CRF300L and a short bed Trail Boss but do not have any comprehension of how you are getting your bike into the truck bed even though you have told me how to do it. Maybe you should do a video on it?
I did S&B cold air intake on mine. Used to run K&N on my vehicles but after a lot of research decided to go with S&B and glad I did. It's a closed box but you have the option to open it up. Definitely worth checking out.
One thing which you might consider as an upgrade is the oem led fog lights. I had them added to my truck and they come in great. Really lighten up the dark roads. 500 cad with install at gm.

That’s not a bad price.. I’ve looked into the kids but don’t want to fuse tap anything. If it’s $500 for a dealer install that may be a good option! Did they change out your lighting switch as well?
Still looks good brother. I just put a deposit on a 22 rst. Wanted a trail boss but they told me 8 month wait. Supposed to get it in a month. Planning on just a level kit and wheels and tires for the first year.

Thank you sir. Congrats on the new truck! My 2019 RST was a beauty, it did have the GM 2” lift that the Trail Boss comes with. What color did you go for?
@Fpv___
Жыл бұрын
Black. I was thinking of going with that lift but the dealer quoted me 2k total parts and labor. Sounded kinda of high but no warranty issues. So not sure what I’m going to do. Have a few weeks to decide.

@@Fpv___ In my opinion that kit is overpriced, but does come with factory warranty. My 19 was used so it came installed. Seems that my dealer is willing to warranty my ReadyLift kit that they installed, may be worth an ask.
Great stuff! Love the truck, I've got a 2021 Trail Boss in Satin Steel Metalic. No complaints whatsoever.

Absolutely love that color, would definitely take it over the Shadow Gray.
Beautiful truck man. I have a question for you. You mentioned that you had a 2019 RST with the gm factory 2 inch lift that came on the trail boss. I’m getting ready to have it installed on my 22 RST and just wanted your thoughts about it. I got a good price on it through my chevy dealership. 1500.00 installed. Thanks man
@limitedslipautomotive

It was already on my truck when I bought it. For the price you can get a bigger kit, but since it’s GM it’ll be warrantied so not a bad choice:
Hey buddy, great looking Chevy! I'm currently researching the Chevy Custom 4x4 and the Custom Trail Boss. I really want to Spec the 5.3L V8, I've had it before and it's probably my favorite all time truck motor. I believe it's about $1800 for it,not a bad deal really. The new turbo 2.7 4 cylinder sounds amazing,but I'm concerned about the long term toughness and durability. Anyway, take care and thanks for sharing that bad looking truck

Thanks brother! Good luck on your truck hunt.
3 things I would absolutely upgrade is the steering wheel so I could have hand controls. The instrument cluster just because that tiny screen would annoy me. And the center console so I could actually lift it for storage. These Customs look great on the outside but they took the poor man route for sure on the interior. I’m surprised they don’t have the hand crank windows, lol.
@jonchase7752

That’s the point of it. The custom and lt are basically the same outside and the lt has more on the inside since it is a higher trim

@@jonchase7752 I’d still buy one and just slowly change what I don’t like about it over the course of owning the truck. I own a 2017 Texas Edition, which I love dearly. But I want to upgrade to a new body style soon. Watched the video for that purpose but I’ll honestly probably go with a custom Trail Boss for my next truck.
Hi, have you thought about upgrading the cluster and steering wheel?
@limitedslipautomotive

I’ve seen people doing that. Personally don’t want to dig into my truck that deeply at this point in time. Maybe once warranty expires.
What model fuels you got there?

Fuel Clash 20x10 -18mm.
I have the ready lift sst 2" kit on my trailboss, I am wanting to put 35's soon. I wanted to get the rough country speedometer calibrator. Is that all I would need after putting the bigger tires or would I need to just get a pulsar LT?. My truck did not come equipped with DFM or auto start/stop
@limitedslipautomotive
Жыл бұрын
The Rough Country calibrator allows you to correct for tire size and rear axle ratio if you change it. The Pulsar LT allows those functions in addition to throttle sensitivity adjustment, AFM/DFM disable, and top speed limiter. If you don’t need those extra functions then the Rough Country should be just fine.
