My Stepdad just got the LT Trail Boss two weekends ago same color Red. Its pretty cool.

The Mutiflex tail gate does come on some custom. I have one. In fact it is the only one I've seen on a custom so far. Really nice for us older folks getting in and out of the bed.

Love this "Trail Boss" package. Most folks who buy a truck pull off the dealer lot and get a lift, wheels and tires, and suspension upgrades. Chevy does all that for you and its available on almost all trim levels, so you can grab a base truck like the Custom and it looks great...not like every other base truck out there. The fact that Chevy cant keep em in stock shows what folks think.

I bought the base model Custom 3 months ago with the double cab...all I needed, will put a cold intake and 2" suspension lift kit, I added the Rhino Spray liner a month ago came out fantastic..looks great too and add the truck bed liner also..added led bulbs low beam and high beam just recently...$ 55.00 , they are very bright, 6000k white..came with a 5.3 liter v-8, plenty of horse 🐎 power for me..

The best part is it uses a key in the ignition not a push start button

Great video, guys! A very thorough, enjoyable look at an extremely capable truck! A couple questions. Did the radio controls on the steering wheel include volume controls on the back side of the wheel? Also was there a standard Bluetooth connection for playing audio through your phone? I'm looking at one of these for 2022 and I'm glad to see they are piecing together a few more amenities on them, even at the Custom trim level.

Very Nice Truck!!

Just got mine 2 days ago. A couple things: Crank the bass & treble, play with the mid to taste. takes a mediocre sound to another level. DO A FACTORY RESET in the audio settings FIRST! or these changes will not save! Do it in auxiliary/accessory mode then crank the engine over to save. THIS IS NOWHERE IN THE MANUAL AND DROVE ME NUTS!

Are there baby car seat hooks in the center of the rear bench?

The GM trucks will get an all-new cabin, new lighting elements, fully digital gauge cluster, and GM’s Super Cruise and ZR2 (Off-Road Competitor to the Raptor and Ram) for 2022. The GM trucks currently offer the Multifunction tailgate, so they’ll be on par with Ford and Ram! GM is coming out with the Chevy EV Truck in 2023, and the Sierra EV sometime before 2025. Great review guys!

If you live in a cold weather winter state then you WANT halogen headlamps to help melt snow and ice buildup. LEDs emit no heat.

Chevys have always been the bang for your buck kind of company they have the ZL1 Wich is 63,000 compared to the hellcats 72,000 The C8 is 60K, compared to a Huracans 300,000 and you have GM Quality as well

Now that is funny, I did the same thing with my coupons

I take delivery on 2021 trail boss custom in 3 days comes with a multi functional tail gate i find strange on the custom model

I noticed a parking sensor button. Where are the sensors?

Did yours come standard with the steering wheel audio controls or did you have to add it?

It’s a $390 option with goes hand in hand with Forward Collision Alert and the emergency and pedestrian braking

Howdy, excellent review as always y’all! I have to admit, for a base line, half ton, American truck, I’m impressed! The only noticeable omission is the lack of standard safety features, which should be a requirement on all new vehicles, just like stability control and back up cameras!😸

Surprised to see the color display on the gauge cluster and the controls on the steering wheel? I haven’t seen a custom trim with that option. Is that new for 2021 or was that ordered special from the factory?

@@bryontello5631 RGE is the option code. It doesn't appear on the build tool for some reason. The dealer was able to add it for me when they placed my order.

If you build the truck on chevys website, it gives you the option to put that tailgate from the gmc models... I wouldn't put it though, overtime the mechanisms will fail and lock up Also, this dude did one heck of a review! Awesome!

The custom isn’t getting the 10. You will get the 6 speed to lower the cost.

"AFFORDABLE"?!?! There is Not One Single Vehicle Made Today that I would consider, "AFFORDABLE", Thanks in Large Part to the U.A.W! I for One, refuse to support the EXUBERANT BENEFITS that the U.A.W has "won" for their members, by going into EXTREME DEBT!!! I AM NOT AGAINST UNIONS, JUST UNION GREED!!

I'd pick the toyota sequoia grey interior or a ford f250 super duty diesel engine. Besides, I can use ethanol fuel safely in that car for the sake of high efficiency and significantly lessen the effects of climate change. The sequoia is certified as an ethanol-usable car. Shame to see that my right-hand drive tesla dream has been sabotaged with deep research.

Why give an extra four grand for a trail boss when you can buy a 2 1/2 inch lift for under $600 and as far as wheels and tires go that’s usually the first thing you change out anyway.

Use a aftermarket kit and you have suspension problems in the future usually control arms and ball joint wear down service department determines problems came from aftermarket kit, it will void your warranty and you are fully responsible for the cost which is very costly...Gm 2" suspension lift kit is $ 995.00 not including labor and doesn't void the warranty, I just ordered mine, will have them install it next week...all that cost goes to my reward points with Chevrolet and when I need tires and wheels up grade most of the cost will be paid for not a bad deal..can't wait.

You missed the boat brother and the thing about it is that none of us knew we were going to miss it. I got a Custom Trail Boss in January of 2021 for $37K. Now there is a microchip shortage that is affecting pick up production and it's causing the cost of pickups to skyrocket. Custom Trail Bosses now will run you 45 or so with the LT's being over 50.

@@burghchamp This is a BASE TRUCK (Custom) with the Trail Boss package...lift...wheels/tires...suspension...exhaust. The appeal of this package is that you can take an inexpensive base truck, and make it look great. Basically, Chevy does all the things that most guys do to thier trucks after they buy them. Your asking if this is Chevy's answer to the TRX or the Raptor? The answer is an obvious NO. This is the answer to the folks like me who were telling GM they want a capable, good looking truck that doesn't cost 75 thousand bucks. Chevy hit it out of the park with this thing, and they cant keep them on the lots. Ford's Tremor package is the answer to this truck. The cool thing about the Trail Boss package is you can get it on almost every Silverado in the lineup, from the base trucks to the high end models.
