a game with a roster as overbloated as JWE2 should be more than just it's animations. they should have more focus on adding more substance to the game rather than every single animal being completely uniquely animated

The game is particulary hurt by the lack of things you would expect from any other animal park builder. Things like enrichment, more complex AI and habitat building are almost entirely absent from this game. This one of the reasons PZ was able to get away with significantly more DLC and updates after release. The main "gimmick" of the JWE2 dlc is that the animals finally look good and thats like, bottom of the barrel kind of stuff.

The lack of interesting behaviors really drags it down for me, the Unique animations are amazing and all, but they don’t have enough or more unique behaviors for dinos, like more social behaviors, unique social behaviors between species, and unique hunting behaviors

I dont disagree but it's also out of the scope of a dinosaur DLC, especially one as limited as this. There's no free update this time around which is typically what adds such things.

I actually like the Ankylodocus, but it's a shame it didn't have the defense animation.

If the free update was something singular, like perhaps just a sauropod combat mechanic, i feel people wouldve been alot more accepting of this update, even if its still arguably added little in inate value

Let's just hope we get another big update next time, along with - most likely in my opinion - a Flying Species Pack along with pterosaur walking and social animations, or a Cretaceous Herbivore Pack so we can finally get Microceratus.

@@awesomeproductions7755 I personally would go for with Coelurosauravus and Pterodaustro instead of Meganeura and Microraptor. Either way, I think all of them are good. The Cretaceous herbivore pack is kinda hard, there's too many good candidates.

TO KEEP THE GAME ALIVE- Absolutely need a franchise mode, integrating all the mechanics that have only been used ONCE. Select 3 maps from the start, randomly begin on one. 5 star all three to win. Random dig sites, random dinosaurs, random poachers, black market, random events, weather, off-shore ship to transfer dinosaurs between your 3 parks

I say it many many times over, the animals need more to them in terms of what they do and personality because after a while, seeing them eat, wander and sleep does get stale quite fast. I said it else where, animal enrichments. Among a few other things.

One thing I really disliked was the lack of pigment options for the lux template variations. Surprised this drawback isn't getting more criticism from the community. Also sauropods desperately need their own attack and defense options now. It's not excusable anymore.

The Stegoceratops Silhouette in the DLC art actually looks better than the in-game one, Its horns are still too big and look like it's having a hard time carrying them. Also, in cohabitation spinoraptor and indorex can cohab but the spinoraptors run away from indorex in panic, probably a bug. I housed the 3 of them with some velociraptors and the raptors were just chilling.

The "good/bad" voice startled the hell out of me! That was so funny~ Always interesting to hear people's thoughts!

I love the Lux patterns so I like they added them to I-Rex and Indo.

What I would've done, Ankylodocus, love the makeover but would've made it tough. Therapod trying to get a bite, gets the club before it leaves to prove a point or a chance it misses. Should be able to square up to the carnivores too ready to defend itself and scare them off by displaying its strength. Stegoceratops, I’m giving the JW concept art look, it just fits better with the other hybrids and doesn’t look over the top. two ways to attack the horns or the thagomizer, Little carnivores trying to pack hunt have a chance to be kebabed on it aswell. Give it a kill, wether it swings its tail into the attacker or rams into them. Spinoraptor, not.much to say other than in a pack will try to take out the smaller saurapods, camara, diplo, etc. Maybe even pack hunting therapods if 2 can. Spinoceratops, give it a kill, ramming into the side of a carnivore with its horn maybe twice.

One thing that it seems no one realizes is that in the first game ceratopsians had their own special kill animation for medium and large carnivores. They would impale them mid air and it was one of the coolest parts of the first game, but it’s completely absent in the second. Stegoceratops even attacked with its spiked tail back then, only using its horns for the finisher

Apparently, the Utahraptors wings where fixed, so that's probably my favorite part of the new (and small) update.

I love the skins on all these hybrids But i wished they would be on actual dinosaur species. We really need a new stegosaur, hadrosaur and ceratopsid and i hope we get some with the same amazing skins as these animals

The reason that the stegoceratops didnt get a redesign is because it technically in the movie Jurassic world 2015 on a computer screen. I would love a glow up on the stegoceratops, but canonically it wouldnt make sense and there are probably going to be lots of mods doing it.

Another bad thing about this is that Stegoceratops in this game just swings it's head and in JWE1 it charged into obstacles swinged its tail into the enemies and then impaled them in victory and now it's just shash plask Stegoceratops is dead

I think that the another bad reason about this pack is that it doesn't appeal to all people but just to a minority portion of our community

I feel like they should have given the ankylodocus its jwe1 skin as a cosmetic, because while i love the new skin I really miss the derpasaurus and honestly its like somethings missing without it. And it not being able to fight back is some bullshit

My main gripe with this pack is that.. well exists. im super happy hybrid lovers now have their hybrids (though i was never a fan), but reselling old content weather or not it got a revamp is never okay in my book. If frontier was set on a hybrid dlc personally the 3 old ones should have been the free update and 3 new ones should have been added in the dlc (a land, a flyer, and a marine hybrid).

i have an explanation for the reused animations so the indominus is a mix of two (mainly) dinos a trex and a raptor but it used small parts of dinos so maybe thats why reuse of animations

Definitely agree with these points. Repeating dinosaurs that we had in the first game (when all other dinosaurs from the first game were freely included in JWE2), and not having a free update definitely is disappointing. It's an okay pack, but definitely not something to get particularly excited about. Hopefully this means Frontier is preparing something bigger for the next time around.... I guess at this point we'll jut have to wait and see a few months from now

One bad thing i had was when i installed the new dlc i had to delete all my old sandbox parks as when i tried to load them they would crash my game but after i deleted those and started fresh i had no problems .i am playing on xbox one x btw.

I've had the idea of a archalon Mosasaurus hybrid for a while just a big archalon like 2/3 the size of the Mosasaurus and have a animation of it trying to eat from the shark feeder but not able to and it would be a great excuseto add a live shark feeder

I like the additions, but feel they were very lazily implemented. They honestly needed more intricate animations for some, Sauropods should have been able to defend themselves by now, and especially the new Ankylodocus and Stegoceratops tail weapons should have been actually used.

Honestly a huge thing is the game lack of replay ability on console and anything to do with actually having a unique experience with the game. You can replay the game in like four ways over and over, and with a lack of dynamic or in depth foliage or terrain decorations or tools you really are limited to the whole building dynamic exibits and actual variety of environments. Then you get into actually having comfort or any type of challenge mode dynamic and it truely feels like you have to revert back into that find the best formula for exibits and building set ups that almost every park either starts to feel similar or even looks the same type of way. These new species are nice but they still stick to these very limited rule set, and it feels like we as the consumer are giving the minimum just to be told that this is the best they can do when we've seen them surpass our expectations in the past.

A small thing that would increase these types of things would be not limiting people in the terrain, like the paint tools not being available in every single map.

if they added shunosaurus as part of a herbivore pack/late jurassic pack they could add defensive animations to it and retroactively to ankylodocus, as shunosaurus is a sauropod with a tail club.

I have said it before and all keep saying it, the 1993 Triceratops, 2001 Ankylosaurus, 2001 Male Velociraptor, 2022 Parasaurolophus and the feathered Tyrannosaurus all need to be made into body variants and I'd like some new buildings for BioSyn namely a Arrival point, small hotel, bathroom, some new Fences in the form of a level 2, 3, 4 and 5 and some proper themed siding for the guest buildings that fit the D.F.W., BioSyn and Malta and where's the Malta viewing tower and ziplien, and the BioSyn valley map and the 3 malta maps to be added to challenge mode and the Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Northwest USA and Isla Sorna site B to all have expanded layouts, The San Diego expanded layout needs to be fixed on the outskirts of the map no greenery just dirt, and the square maps California, Temperate and Temperate autumn all need to have trees on their borders. Pleas BestInSlot can you bring this up I think it will be grate and you need to see the maps I am referring to they need help. I really love this game and want to build a park on the Temperate maps namely the Germany map with an expanded layout.

Ok, hear me out: How about a mosasaur / pteranodon hybrid? Of course given the games limitation, it would need to be eighter aquatic OR flying, not both. I think aquatic would fit better. A massive mosaur like creature, but with massive "wings" in place of the fins. Perhaps a crest as well.

Need more chaos theories

They should give all dinosaurs more variety of shared animations based on their size across the board. For example, Dinosaurs similar in size to Triceratops will use animations from other herbivores that'll give it more life. I don't understand how they couldn't do shared animations so we never see the same hunting, attack, defense and social animations assigned to only one or two species.

While this pack is underwealming I feel like theres an extra pro and con when it comes to the Stegoceratops That of course is it's surrounded by bodies all the time without fail anything i have every large carnivore that goes near it dies. It's killed more dinosaurs in my test park than my T-rex ever did in hours of being in my " semi accurate Micro ecosystem enclosure where it had all the edmontontosaurus it could ever want. Also that Anklodycus social is wholesome and cute.

I hate to say it I'm kinda hoping frontier will release their own dinosaur game likely in the planet franchise since you know if this dino park builder is bringing in lots of cash then imagine if they had their own with their rules

I hope they will update the hybrid Dinosaurs to have unique killing animations hunting animations fighting death animations and so on

Stegoceratops is my favorite hybrid dinosaur 😊❤️💚

I had a dream where JWE3 will have more natural animations, random kills animations and interactions animations with dinosaur and buildings and fences. and the most important personality in our guests using umbrellas, balloons, t shirts, benches.

I think the Nasutoceratops Stegoceratops was replaced in canon and otherwise by the Triceratops version. The Nasuto version was only in two things that came out in 2015, the movie and JW:TG. JW:A and Evo 1 in 2018 used the Trike version, and it seems that's here to stay. I wish that they had added the Amargazinosaurus and Pachyspinax which were also in the movie on the computer screens. Or they made their own version of the Ultimasaurus.

the 5 bad things are the hybrids, the good thing is that maybe just maybe we are getting closer for these lazy devs to add microceratus

Feathered dinosaur pack is basically the asian dinosaur dlc. I think of all the dinosaurs this game needs, asian dinosaurs are the last on that long long list. (Also come now, an edmonto and rex clone? Shantung arguably could be made unique but we already have Tarbo.)

idk why stegoceratops gets so much hate its always been my 2nd favorite, it should use its tail more. Spinoraptor is the favortie but that and sinoceratops just look like there parent species with a sail not to interesting. Ankylodocus looks alot better then it did in jwe1 but it still doesnt do anything just another sauropod that does nothing but walk around and dies
