I’ve been playing these games since the first one launched, and I can finally say that JWE2 feels like a complete game. There’s more I want them to add, but if they stopped now I wouldn’t feel like we were missing crucial components. The addition of the viewing log and dome for lagoons and aviaries was the last puzzle piece. And now that they haven’t been tied down by the movies, the last 2 DLC’s added some diverse and beautiful animals as well.

Almost agree. Once the game adds a kelp brush, or placeable kelp bundles in the lagoons, I don't feel the game is entirely complete. The lagoons are very deep, and some of the animals are very small and it looks a bit odd having these tiny creatures just swim around in the open ocean. Having them be framed by these forests of kelp would improve the look so much, and would allow you to frame the lagoons giving each viewing gallery a unique experience with decorations and such.

Now they just need to add basic park stuff. Jurassic world advertisment signs/ballons, benches, bins, fast food carts...

They really listen to the community, people wanted bigger maps, we got ‘em, people wanted all foliage on all maps, we got ‘em. And to think we’re only half way through year 2 of support. I hope this game goes all the way to at least how long PZ is going for. I still however don’t think lagoons or aviaries are as good to build for compared to regular exhibits. I think we still need things for the lagoon like water clarity, kelp and coral brushes, etc. And maybe we get an avian pack next since the last pack focused on lagoons. Things like hanging platforms or hanging viewing decks in the aviaries or large rock pillars could really add to it. But this game is so enjoyable already, so excited for its future.

@@hornetc5585 people wanted something for the lagoons, and Frontier gave us that. I'm still annoyed by the bugs that had dinos standing in one spot, practically starving themselves to death.

This is honestly my one of my favorite games of all time. To me, planet zoo couldn’t compare to the sheer beauty of this game. As a dinosaur fan and a Jurassic Park fan, I could play this 24/7.

to any new buyer: I have 400 hours and my only 2 gribes are 1) fix the glitch where an animal will starve/dehydrate standing right by their food source AND 2) show more love to the lagoons, make brushes for kelp and stuff. Other than that it's almost a perfect game imo.

The only reason why animals starve or dehydrate is due to having a LOT of dinosaurs in a park at a given time, don't think the game can handle that many active AI at once so some of them simply stop following their programming. A way around this is to turn off the dinosaurs starve/dehydrate option and they will automatically heal then you can turn it back on again and their AI should go back to normal

@@RudiRennkamel but one big improvement under the custom challenge mode is to 1. Add a checklist of all species so you can choose to limit available species (IE make therapod only, jurassic era, herbivores etc) and 2. Have options for poacher attacks (with the useable pocher defenses) and open all three acquisition options (dig site, amber mine, black market) THEN we have some serious challenge mode options!

@@Krayt002 yes but its very limited. You cant make your own build and share, only share the criteria. And its missing all the things I listed

I hope they continue to update the lagoons, perhaps add boat tours, coral brushes and stuff. Boat tours could have some amazing animations too and make the sea reptiles pose more of a threat if you neglect them. There are also boat wreckages that you can place as decorations so it would fit in nicely if you could actually have boats.

I like JWE2's approach to a park builder more than that of Planet Zoo. Too many options in Planet Zoo and my lack of imagination and time make it too overwhelming to even get started. I hope there will be a Zoo game that takes JWE2's approach at some point.

I've been playing coaster planet a lot lately.. I really like it but I jumped back into jwe2 and I've been enjoying it. I like the build freedom that comes with the "planet" games but it's overwhelming and tedious sometimes

I remember back when people said camp Cretaceous wouldn't be in the game because they said it wouldn't, but they didn't say that, they said there wouldn't be camp Cretaceous dinos in the base game, which is true, there isn't any camp Cretaceous dinos in the base game

When I was a kid, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis was one of my favorite PS2 games. So when they announced JWE back in 2018, I was extremely hyped. I worked myself up into believing that JWE would be just like JP:OG, except bigger and better. Then I played it... and it certainly felt bigger. The graphics, animations, cosmetic choices - it all made sense for a modern game. But there was something limiting about JWE. The gameplay felt restricted and it lacked spirit; like it was only half-complete, even with all the DLC and free updates. Suddenly, I didn't want to play it anymore, because a game from 20 years ago set a standard that Frontier couldn't match. A few years later, JWE2 was announced, and I couldn't be further from excited. I didn't particularly like the new movies - which JWE2 was centered around - and the previous game left a bitter taste in my mouth. But, I still wanted to give it a try, so I did - I bought it nine months after launch for PS4. Again, JWE2 didn't do much for me. Like its predecessor, it felt half-baked - even with all the cool new features like lagoons and aviaries. The dino combat was better, but it was still missing that oomph to turn it from an average game to a good one. Fast forward to earlier this week, and JWE2 is now one of my favorite park builders of all time. Thanks to all the updates and hard work from Frontier, I can now play through a game without getting bored or underwhelmed. And while it's not at the same level as JP:OG - which I will always have a personal bias towards - it's certainly the closest to reigniting that same sensation I had as a kid.

They need a big decorative pack (not like the 30th Anniversary pack). I mean more species signage in multiple eras, benches, bins, way more Statues that aren't just skeletons, more fountains, more aviary and lagoon themed decorations, small fences, enclosure stuff like more logs and rock shapes ect. Playing in sandbox mode it's really hard to make your parks unique as you run out of decorations fast using the same things over. One or two more attractions like a river cruise or balloon tour..

if they added a few more attractions like a role coaster or water park and a river cruise, it would be perfect. would also love an ice age pack

I've only just started playing this game, and I only put it on just too entertain my 3 year old daughter and wow! we were both playing it with our Jaws on the floor, driving around seeing dinosaurs on my 65inch oled TV with all the sounds of the Dinosaurs in our ears is breath taking, it's creating some beautiful moments. If you got kids this game is well worth picking it up, and I know a lot of people find these building games a little overwhelming but the campaign does a fantastic job of teaching you the ropes, so happy !

I got the game when it first came out, enjoyed it then, but its so much better now. I plan on playing it a lot once I get a new PC... What I'm using now can't run it sadly, Really looking forward to you playing this game again. Your parks are always creative :)

Cool vid man. It's been a long time since I've played JWE2. Can you remind, how is the sandbox? Are all the buildings, animals and decorations, maps etc unlocked right from the start? Bcoz I'm planning to buy it again on my PS5. Since my laptop isn't as powerful, I feel the graphics are much better on the PS5. But I won't get it if I need to play the campaign all over again.

I feel like the raptor paddock wouldn't be too hard to add at this point. Maybe if they do add it they could take it a step further and make it usable for other carnivores of that size (Dilo, Mono, Herrera, etc.)

Aye, Jurassic World 2 is many ways a fantastic game, I got the DLC campaigns and I love how they place you in the universe as part of the story. 1 - You have to deal with the aftermath of dinosaurs roaming free. So you end up capturing and storing dinosaurs. 2 - You start building Biosyn Sanctuary. 3 - After Biosyn burned down, you, ( Ellie, Grant, ) actually rebuild the island into another sanctuary. 4 - You recapture a dinosaur facility and started building and maintaining several parks in different locations. The campaigns are also great tutorials for when you go into sandbox mode. Aside from sandbox mode, there are also the challenge missions and the chaos missions. It's a really fucking huge game. So, for me, the campaign is definitely a step in the right direction, more involvement, character-to-character-to-dinosaur action. What you do is part of the Jurassic World universe... The character you play that operates it all, is a real in-universe character that isn't mentioned anywhere outside the game, like Finch. They improved a lot of the game mechanics since. Great graphics. I wish it had some more landscaping abilities, and a lot more objects to select from, IE, rocks, trees, and so forth. unique types. Also it has tons of dinosaurs, which you have to unlock by playing campaign, challenges, chaos theory.

Ive been wanting to get jurassic world evolution 2 ever since i found out about about it. Am holding off on it till i get a ps5. i did get a switch earlier this year and when i found out the first jwe was on it i instantly got it. And the first one is already one of my favorite games cannot possibly imagine how much better the second one is to play. Have seen a bunch of park builds and dinosaur showcase videos.

These last 2 DLC packs and this last free update are just amazing

The biggest one I say will be missing is more additional animal interaction that isn't just social and killing as that sort of gets stale quick. Plus its hard to say its successor to Jurassic park operation genesis as there are some things still missing like free range dinos outside of a sandbox mode. But two aspects is animal enrichment and placeable shelters, but that is my opinion. I can say the avaries are missing additional perching options, like in the 30th JP Anniversary trailer. Though Lagoons still look like complete deserts.

@@RudiRennkamel and I came into the game expecting zoo management, however its less about zoo management and more emphasis on the park, the animals are attraction but not attracting me. I say a shelter for animals as a number of times, on a number of maps, the game will flick me in the southern region when one of my animals is getting hurt due to weather condition, this is without warning, I wish something that is like a viewing dome but its also an artificial rock cavern where like lets say raptors will go inside and seek shelter from the storm. Plus animal enrichment, like an area that enhances the base viewing gallery, maybe a large ball is thrown into the enclosure, maybe sqeak toys, or a feed station for hervivores. Though I am going to long as I know you aren't a developer, I feel like I am going crazy, this isn't a pipe dream.

I love the game although i abandoned it afted it came out because i thought it was boring but i came back to it last year and i Still play it to this day as a professional park builder and as for being that you have to make a realistic and great park and thats easy for me But a huge problem for me is that the decorations dont use grid snap which is a problem for people like me because it feels odd to see a plant sideways and the other one to be facing forward. But in my opinion i Really looking forward to the other updates frontier is making.

For some reason the game just hated my graphics card (not sure why as I have a bog standard 3060ti) but it was unplayable. I will try again.

I'm curious. Did they improve the Guests interactions? I really enjoyed in Operation Genesis how the guests would buy and carry their toys from gift shops, eat their food, wait in line, etc.

Hey, that's true, the game is going better and better, but as a Planet Zoo and Coaster fan you still don't have enough options. And by that I don't mean the construction of buildings, I think that's appropriate here, but officially there are still so many scenery parts or items like benches, garbage cans etc. missing. And I mean all that without mods, where you can get almost everything. Think of the console gamers too. And the option to turn off the collision/hitboxes is urgently needed, then you would have many more options!!! Plus more paths, smaller shops for the paths and lots of decoration🥰 Would also pay 10 euros for a pure item pack with 100 parts including benches, garbage cans, lamps etc...🙂 But what Frontier can do like no other are animal animations, that's world class here in combination with the music from the movies. That's a cool feeling🎉 BUT please its time now for PLANET COASTER 2😂

I love this game a lot but I would really like higher fences or Dino shelters or something like enrichment items for them also the indominus Rex and bigger dinos look silly compared to the tiny walls

I dont play any park builders other than this at all neither am i a huge fan of dinosaurs or jurrasic park, but i love just listening to podcasts and trying to build a 5-star park on each of the maps in both the first and second JWE games

JWE2 was always a great game very improved over the first one at launch without the updates and dlcs its gotten since launch

It's the perfect game for Sim City fans who love dinosaurs,The behavior of the dinosaurs in part 2 are amazing but the most impressive features are the new viewing gallery's that can be placed in the enclosures from underground

I ordered this game and didn't dislike the game, but I stopped after a month. Glad to see it's come a long way, maybe I'll return to it waiting for planet zoo console.

I played the first game and to be honest, I thought it was gonna rot as a stand alone game that would just be terrible. But after jwe2 and all the updates so far everyone saying that jwe2 is completed in a way. Me personally I kinda feel that way but the potential for jwe2 can go a lot and adding more prices just makes a bigger better puzzle. I have a LIST of things that can be added so I think jwe2 is completed in a way but not finished anytime soon.

I really love Jurassic Park/World! I think I like Jurassic World Evolution 2 better than the first one. I'm going to build a park that has all the mesozoic creatures that appeared in Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 3, Jurassic Park: The Game, Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World: Dominion, Jurassic World: Battle at Big Rock and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. So far, the game only has 3 hybrid creatures (Scorpios Rex, Indominus Rex and Indoraptor). I do Hope that Spinoceratops will be added to the game. Maybe it'll come in a Hybrid Dinosaur DLC pack that may include Stegoceratops, Ankylodocus and Spinoraptor. I might decide to build a park with only hybrid creatures.

I still have my issues with the game but now they've added custom challenge modes I actually play the game instead of only playing when something new releases then forgetting about it till the next update

I played a ton of Jurassic World Evolution 1 campaign and I really enjoyed it. But JWE2 has a too complex campaign mechanics for me so I only play it on Sandbox to take beautiful pictures. I haven't bought the game, but I play it with Xbox game pass.

Thank you for the video, I have a slightly different opinion. I played a lot 1 year ago and recently returned. The game hasn’t changed much at all in my opinion. DLC dinosaurs and social animations are fanfare. What are the biggest issues in the game that haven’t been changed? - For the builders in general: Building still makes me want to claw my eyes out. Buildings need more space than they actually do. A lot of path snapping does not exist. Building symmetrically can be very tricky. Especially small awkward maps. You have to move something? Well you might as well restart because you already built around the whole thing and now half of your park needs to be moved. - For money sandbox players: The beginning of the game can be really f$cking hard, the mid to late game is ridiculously easy. Same in JWE1. Starting with $3M you are forced to start with Struthiomimus essentially for consistency (tested). Even with High Taxes late game you make more money than you can spend. - Dinosaur balance, especially APPEAL. Some dinosaurs suck, because they have low appeal compared to similar dinosaurs, hard to keep, carnivores eat everything even though they should prioritize goats (made a new video on this). Most Dinosaurs are reskins without being different gameplay-wise, environment needs, appeal wise. - Lagoons / Aviaries are still giant sections instead of completely free placeable fence parts. Very annoying because of the limited space on maps. - Other smaller bug issues. Hundreds of small bugs with pathing where sometimes you have to throw your old park away. Dinosaurs dying of thirst and hunger in more complicated exhibits. - Probably hundreds of other small game design or balance issues that don’t ruin your fun.

Hm, i don´t experience half of it as dramatic. Its what I said, you can´t expect a zoo tycoon, planet coaster, planet zoo type of game. It will never be. So some of your points are summed up like this. And yeah...balancing and Frontier games is...tricky :P I love them, but balancing is something they need to improve on in general.

I don't now how the game is on pc, but on the ps5 it still has a lot of bugs. That New underwater lagoon box and island are above water when i start my park again. In a other park that i build an ichtyosaurus that is on dry land wich can not be removded and gast that don't walk anymore. Contacted frontier and even made a video for them but no help. Hope it's better for you guy's on pc.

There is still a great many important things to be added to this game. However this should have been the state of the game at launch. Even so we are still missing bench's and must count on the spectacular modders for things that really should be part of the main product.

Hab mir das Spiel vor zwei Tagen im Sale auf Steam gekauft und ich liebe es! Das Bauen fühlt sich manchmal etwas schwerfällig an, was aber auch daran liegen könnte, dass ich noch nicht daran gewöhnt bin. Und ich hätte wirklich gerne Brücken. Aber ansonsten bin ich absolut begeistert! Für mich die perfekte Ersatzdroge für das katastrophale Diablo 4 😅

I've played it but it's an apk because my uncle is broke for to be able to afford all the DLCs and sooo im not really in the latest updates but if we ever get another apk then yeah I'll definitely enjoy it more because of the decorations and also i said that my "uncle is broke to be able to afford the DLCs" is because I don't own the computer and it's ny uncles cuz we too broke to be able to afford for another computer but i can just be okay with the APK i have

What i don't understand is why miroceratus was in jurassic world dominion but it wasn't in jwe2 when the dominion Malta dlc released Frontier development could of put Microceratus in the game.

i want to buy it on steam with christmas because then it will be cheaper then now

I have a question so I want to buy this but I'm worried that when i get this there's going to be a new Jurassic game is there going to be a new one coming soon? and how long?

@@airellv6888 I say get it, tbh a new one wont be released for quite some time, 2025 is just the lowest POSSIBLE estimate But yeah there's a sale rn which is 70% off, I copped it for Christmas

Still has issues with convincing response team 2 to find a path without giving a manual push, but otherwise everything seems to be working mostly pretty well as of current, though theres still some grammar errors in some of the menus and thats kind of unacceptable for a game this old

There are two things I would love; more dinos. And better building and lagoons. So three things..... anyways! Like everyone else has said. We need kelp brushes and more lagoon customization. This also goes for the Aviary. And another thing! I know a lot of PC players use that mod where paths are not obstructed by buildings! We need that desperatley

It is a good game now, but still far away from to be a Great one ;)! 1. Pterosaurs have still NO walking animation which looks odd on Quetzalcoatlus f.e.. 2. Even the RTJP Aviary had WATERFALLS, really high rocks/cliffs, and a Foggenerator on topp of that all ....and it was much higher too! Higher Dome and this decos would look great as placeable objects for JWE II ! 3. Still no social animations for Pterosaurs 4. Still no Submarine tour or at least a boat tour attraction like the " real world attraction " JP the Ride " or " JW the Ride" ! This two Attractions are a big part of the JP/JW universe since day one ! 5. Still no Surface Breath Animation for ALL Marine Reptiles ,... Shoni f.e. has no one and that looks so nice. 6. Still no inside fpv for the Monorial ! ....in The CC Show you could see every detail of the Monorail ! Not to have that view is very sad ! 7. Still no Heli-Shuttle Tour !!! It was even in JW and Masranis Heli was No. 1 of this VIP Shuttles ;) ! 8. Still no option to make at least Some Parts of the lagoon without the walls and instead with Rocky Shore ( Like the only natural Laggon of Malta DLC ) or beaches like in the JW movie ! 9. Still no Kelpforest as Brushtool/pleacable Object and only Rockplattform, while some naturall looking high underwaterrocks would be great ;)! 10. Still some Movie Dinosaur species not ingame ( Microcertus f.e.).

Ok, I’m finally taking the plunge during the Steam Fall sale.

i want to be able to release flyers into the wild without breakouts and i want to be able to edit water depth on lakes and ponds to allow marine reptiles to exist in my site b environments, give me the old school zoo tycoon 2 vibes 😂

i played this game but gave up in the end as paths are way too hard to build and i can never get them to connect up so never playing this again

I’m gutted they ditched the campaign for the chaos theory and sandbox features. No doubt with the upcoming release of Chaos Theory on netflix they’ll have some dlc tie in lol 😂

Basically has ALL the content of the first game plus a LOT more

im ngl when jwe2 was announced i rolled my eyes, the first game was incredibly disappointing and shallow. Once i bought it i did have a lot of fun but it did feel shallow until a couple dlcs ago. however, now if they announced a jwe3 i could pre-order it in a heartbeat. glad you feel the same about this silly dinosaur management

If we could make bridges/tunnels for paths, tours etc that would be cool. Also make waterfalls, and guests gates are a must now we can have free roaming dinos safely, the current solution I've used of having a monorail station in the enclosure feels a bit jank!

What about the unaddressed crashing issues on consoles? That’s still a big no for me.

I honestly think the great is in a great spot, especially in comparison to it's release version. You touched on this but the only thing I feel is still missing are new buildings and attractions. While in different styles reusing the same buildings in a large park makes the experience feel less like a living, breathing thing and more like simulation. Which is odd because of how lifelike the animals are.

Great game but once your park gets big the animals freeze up

My only real problems with the game is that sauropods are completely defenseless still and some dinosaurs just look way worse than their film counterparts. For example, Apatosaurus, one of the best example of a dinosaur that is almost nothing like the film version, almost completely different from the movie one. And overall, Apatosaurus is just kinda boring looking. They could just pretty easily just slim it down and change the feet and it would already be pretty perfect looking. Tho sauropods being completely defenseless is my biggest problem with the game right now, it makes no sense that a 80 ton behemoth can be taken down by a predator that weighs like 10 times less than it. Like man, where is the common sense

So.. i dont have this game but i thought about getting it. I did, however, have the first game. I have a few questions that werent covered. 1: in the first game, i constantly had to refill feeders by clicking on them, do i still have to waste my time doing that in this game? 2: In the first game, you were attacked by sabourtage and storms and what not. Is there a game mode where that bullshit doesnt happen? I really just want to play a simple dinosaur zoo builder, not manage feeders and dealing with constant destruction and rampant dinosaurs.

Yes you can basically now shape your own game. Sabotage etc. Isn't in anymore in that way. Plus you can unlock auto refill

I haven't been able to play anymore on sandbox, my game keeps crashing on my ps4 😢

They finally put nesting in game? If yes great game, if no count me as still waiting for the great game😉
