I’ve been using paper bedding since forever😭😭

I never understood the exercise balls because the best part of letting them out is watching them jump and flip off the walls.

When I got my third chinchchilla it came with an exercise ball but I threw it away immediately

I had NO idea paper was bad.... even the vet recommended CareFresh (as long as he wasn’t eating it... which for a while he wasn’t but long story short, he started eating it so I stopped buying).

I used carefresh for one day and I instantly regretted it so I got rid of it and I also give my chinchilla (Sushi) little carrot strips as treats

Pet stores really don't cater to chins :/ Also I noticed you have a lava ledge on the ground for merlin, mine chew theirs off too XD if you want, you can pull that metal piece out and then it's just a giant pumice piece and there's no metal sticking out or anything. Another thing to be wary of is unknown wooden toys and dyes, and any toy or hay rack or hay ball with holes that chins can get stuck in. For example chins are known for getting their head stuck in those wire hay balls. There's also a picture somewhere on the internet of a ceramic red-bell-pepper toy that a chin got stuck in.

if you don’t have etsy or things like that, a place you can you get treats from walmart! Plain cheerios, old fashioned oats and shredded mini wheat without the frosting. I typically crush the shredded wheat up before giving it to them :)

just from first glance I can tell you no. Looking into the ingredients there are papayas, bananas, raisins, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds, which are all terrible for chinchillas. Try to stick with rose hips or goji berries or plain oats.

They have really good eyesight so if you plug in a nightlight behind the cage, that would be the perfect amount of light that they need 💕

I got Chili about a month and a half ago so I'm hoping he hasn't chewed on any of it while I'm sleeping or at work. But he's acting fine and his 💩 is normal so hopefully I'm switching before he's had a chance to chew it!

Um I think the wood chips for the bedding is a bad idea because it’s can get in to the eye and cause infection

ummmmm i have them in the room my chin is at and i don't think they are dangerous? They shouldn't be, especially since its lower lighting but I'm not too sure

It’s only unsafe if you notice them chewing off the pieces, then swallowing the bits. 💕

One every now and then is okay but in general they have a lot of sugar so I opt for dried goji berries since they have less sugar 💕

I personly dont think they smell but some people might think the hay you have to get for them smells a little :)

I agree with Caitlin because they sort of smell but I think I got used to it by now. It smelled when it is in a room but it doesn’t really travel into the whole house

I got mine from a pet store because every time I go there the chins always look sad with a plastic hide and paper bedding. But a breeder would be nixe

Many owners give harmful toys to their chin's without realising that they could harm their chinchillas, and many times they either don't know or ca't afford it. You should never get a chin without researching and you must have a very large budget. 🐭

My Chinchillas would get along SO well with your chinchillas Gus Gus is a Goober haha that’s one of his nicknames btw Goober and Merlin seems pretty funny and Cute just Like Gus Gus Chinchi is very shy very soft but creepy why (staring) and he’s always is up to something or always angry at people Also very active And Zorro seems like that So they seem like my chinchilla

At pet smart, the chinchillas looked sad they were in a small glass fish tank and a plastic hides and wheel and paper bedding 😞
