Pro tips- 1. Get a girl so you don't have to worry about hair rings 2. use soley blue cloud. For the first time ever, I'm using kaytee brand dust, but she doesn't get clean. I hate it so much. Use any brand of blue cloud dust. 3. No matter what anybody says, if you are getting an adult that has never had one, don't get a wheel. They won't use it, and it costs $100 or more. (But get one if you have a baby) 4. Socialize them a lot. They love exploring, being held, cuddling, and being out of their cage. They need the extra attention and time out of their cage, especially if they don't use/don't have a wheel. That's it, but it's the stuff most won't say!

Just ordered the cage, hay holder and bee pollen for my grandchin, Chindsey Lohan. Hope you get the credit! We learned so much from your videos before and after we rescued the sweet girl. Keep on doing what you do, please, Happy Holidays!

Awww I love Merlin and Zorro!!! I want to get a tunnel for my chinchilla too. Her name is teddy bear. We called her bear but then eventually started calling her teddy bear. She loves golgi berries too.

My brother and I did it so it’s a bit tricky but you’ll need two people and maybe a sledgehammer as well to get the pieces to fit. Merlins cage was easier to assemble than Zorro’s for some reason. The parts of each cage fit a little different I guess depending 💕

Ive found that when i cut the timothy hay into 2 inch length my chinchillas eat it up! So not as much waste now, because it was super frustrating throwing out partially eaten hay (or practically the whole thing ending up on their floor and getting peed upon) which is what was happening in the past. Also, for my other chinchilla that’s pretty picky with the hay, I started feeding her Timothy hay cubes mixed with loose cut hay (no alfalfa or anything at all it’s Timothy hay that’s pressed into cubes.) I also put their hay in ceramic bowls

Where did you get Merlins large wheel?? I feel like the one I have for my chin is too small for him but it's the largest I could find. He runs sticking his head out of the side 😅 I feel so bad

I have a chinchilla and I bought food from a pet store but it looks different from the one you use, my chinchilla really likes and I think it kinda likes it to much cuz it eats everything when I give it food and when I used food that looked like yours it didnt like it as much and it took it longer to eat it so Im not sure if its also good for it, but I've been feeding it with that food for a month and it seems fine. Btw the food is called selective chinchilla so Im not sure about it. Also sorry about my bad english

Do you ever take them outside? Obviously in a safe, enclosed area- I’m curious if it’s recommended or not due to the weather and other factors

Since they’re domestic and haven’t built an immunity to outside threats, I find it too dangerous to try and bring them outside. I’m just worried they’ll eat something or contract something, I just play it safe!💕

Hello! I was thinking about buying a chinchilla and buying the same exact cage that you have! However, I see that on the bottom layer of the cage you have tile. What kind of tile do you have? and where can I purchase it? Is it a bathroom tile like from home depot? How many tiles do you have? Thank you so much!

I’m wanting to get a chinchilla but I’m worried if it’ll get lonely how long should I hang out with it? Also I have a cat but it’s lazy and lays on my bed all day is it ok?

I recommend only getting a chinchilla if you can afford two since most of them need to be kept in pairs. My chinchillas life separately for specific reasons, and even then they at least see each other💕

Where does he go to the bathroom at when he’s in his cage?

I have one chinchilla right now he is one years old and I have been always thinking about getting a second one would I get a separate cage or would I bond them together I have enough space in the cage and enough time to do it but should I??♥️

I will be getting 1 chinchilla soon and I think it’s going to be below 6months old. Do you think it is okay to feed alfalfa hay? There are so many different stories and opinion on chinchilla diet that I don’t even dare to try anything new!

Plastic itself is toxic because when ingested, it can rip up their throats or bellies💕

Hi I really want a chinchilla and I am getting 2 but my dad keeps on saying that we don’t need a big cage I tryed to tell him why we should get a bigger cage but he said don’t trust the internet what do I do please help me!

Idk if you’d see this BUT anyways when I get my chin should I just get the 10 pound bag of food? How long does it normally last for you, cause I was thinking just get then 25 pound, also how long does your hay bag normally last?

The 10lb bag lasts for about 4 months or so with my two chinchillas. I used to buy the 25 lb bag in the past for just my one chinchilla and it lasted for literally a year 😂💕

Hey there ! I really need your help... I was with my chinchilla during playtime but I had to do something in his cage so I asked my brother to keep an eye on him, well my chinchilla started climbing behing the bookshelf ( there is smaller space behind it ) thats not the biggest deal. He goes there often I saw it and he can get out. But I wasnt there when he started climbing again and my brother stood there blocking his way out. He panicked and froze. At this point I am already back and I see it. I tell my brother to go away and try to take him out. He is okay but hes also very scared of me.. he doesn't hop on my hand , doesn't take treats from me and is just overall scared ( he was very friendly before the incident ) I dont know what to do , is there something I can do so he starts trusting me again ? I am not letting my bro to be with him anymore tho..

It’s normal for chinchillas to get scared after incidents where they feel panic and trapped. I would take it slow and leave him alone for a little bit before trying to interact again. When you do interact, be gentle and make slow movements around him, offering him treats. Basically just be delicate with him while he learns not to be afraid of you anymore💕

My Chinchilla doesn't like coop cup, he tosses all his pallets out of it with his paws. Not sure why. I bought him ceramic bowl and i think he loves it, because i don't have that problem anymore.

I believe there is a way to get hypoallergenic dust. You’d have to search on Etsy or online for it, but I’ve heard it exists 💕

You should check out chewy dot com for some chinchilla stuff because they have a LOT of stuff that the pet stores and amazon havent been having lately. I know it doesn't have your affiliate link, but it's just a nice thing to note. Check out this hanging chew! Although she does use and loves the oxbo pellets

bee pollin has way too much sugar please do not use it too often as a treat

DONT use metal/wired hay holders, chinchillas love to climb etc. they will get hurt and BREAK boxes
