Great videos, Shane. I don't belong to a gym or anything; just boxing for fitness. Your videos are a huge help. I like how you break the biomechanics down and make it easy for beginners like me to practice proper form.
I like these tips. I haven't done Muay Thai for that long and practicing these tips makes me feel like an expert. Keep it up, Shane.

Shane!! This little serious of common mistakes has helped me so much! I can't afford to attend the gym I use to for muay thai. So I've been working on getting better at my universities gym. The kicking mistakes really helped me out, I saw improvements almost instantly with technique and power. Thanks and please keep them coming!
Thank you for this I've been looking a video about hooks because I'm having trouble with it but now I saw this and it really helps me ty Shane!
I love the advice on the Fedor style long hooks. That’s been bugging me forever and I have a bad habit I have to get rid of now! Appreciate it!

Best fight tutorials hands down
Thank you very much for this post! In my fitness class I see now what I’m doing wrong and why it hurts! For my next class I’m going to take it easy, use proper form, even if they’re yelling for me to pick up the pace 😅 I really want to do it correctly and let my arms and shoulders heal from what I was doing incorrectly!

Try joining beginner classes in a real boxing gym if you can. You’ll still get the “fitness”, but much better technique development
Really appreciate these videos, Ik you posted it Hella long ago but as someone who can't pay for boxing lessons yet it's really nice just to get some practice before hand
You rock bro!! I watch your videos every day I have my first MMA fight March 5th I have been putting in the work! And these videos mean a lot!! Hope one day I can thank you in person at the gym! 👊👊
The turning hand when hook punching from too far away actually came to me instinctively it wasn't until I watched this video is when I realised it! Your body really adapts when it knows how it wants to hit
SHANE! I cannot pay attention! That dog is too cute!
Thanks for all the tips!
This is super helpful. I'm planning to get into FitXR for the Oculus Quest, but after watching some reviews I noticed one reviewer say the game doesn't have a good tutorial on proper form. Decided to do my own research and it led me here. Thanks for the tips!

The dog are probably the grand master,and he saw you doing something wrong. Dog:"Hold this,let me teach him some moves" Those are some good tips,and I didn't knew about the rotating your first when further is the distance.Nice video,man.
Thanks loads for that. I'm researching the lead hook just now and have been wandering youtube looking for useful info. That dog! Gorgeous.
Really loving these common mistake videos. Would really love to see one for the right straight punch as well. That would complete the picture for beginners.
Hey, now I know where that logo comes from.
Seriously homie, I'm a dog lover, I am so distracted by your dog in the beginning. I wanna jump down to the floor and play with him!! But I love your content, keep up the great work!!

Thanks for tips. Just ran into your channel by chance. Keep killing it!
Could you please do a video on weight training and martial arts? I see some things about only doing calisthenics so you don't get bulky and you can be more agile, or to not go up weight classes, but then I see some ufc guys benching and deadlifting and stuff. I want to know what I should do to prepare myself for mma when I start at the local one.

In just found your channel this week. I've been wanting to learn more about boxing. Mostly for working out. However I did want to have the information to have good form and be able to defend myself if that ever became necessary. I've definitely learned a lot so far. It's great that I can keep comijng back to check on if I'm having correct form
Great video for beginners, I didn’t learn anything from the video that I didn’t already know, besides maybe that I didn’t need to pivot the back foot on the cross, Pivoting that foot on the cross at this point for me is not something I ever even come close to thinking about, but I know I do it. I believe it though, makes sense that you don’t have to do it, I always kind of felt people over analyze that twisting part, cigarette-outting thing, it’s probably just a cue for beginners as you said. But this would have been very helpful for me when I started so many years ago, so despite not learning anything I at least know this is a good channel now. Keep up the good work, you’re a good teacher.

Hey Shane, What do you think of throwing a hook with the palm down, anything wrong with it? I was taught that it's safer for your wrist that way. I sprained my wrist throwing it the traditional way when my fist was wasn't flush on the bag and slipped against the bag and jammed my wrist.
@zuhailishufller8046
7 жыл бұрын
Eric Goldstein won't that hurt your wrist more because it puts your arm in an awkward positions and reduce the power of the hook a bit
@CenturianEagle
6 жыл бұрын
Eric Goldstein he literally explains this in the video. He said he likes to go palm down if he’s at a further distance, and palm in if it’s close, and if it’s really damn far then he likes to turn it completely over like a fedor/chuck Liddell overhand. It depends on you. Do whatever you like best for now.

Just one more thing, looks like your dog wants to have a go at the end there!
Great tips! Thanks! And that dog is awesome.
A few questions I have: 1. Is it ok to drop the hand I'm doing the punch with to generate more power? I tend to naturally do this but it seems to not slow me down. 2. Where should the punch stop?
@raquelborn
7 жыл бұрын
45th President of The United States of America (1) test it out in sparring. If you can still land things without it compromising your defence why not (2) go 'through' the target but ensure to return to guard. I like to think of punches as like whips. They don't go through targets then linger, they snap right back

Yeah, that's a real common injury here on the internet Just be glad you're not one of the guys who 'went to the ground', because that's where they stayed. Not that _exact_ same piece of ground, obviously, unless they just happened to be fighting in a cemetery not far from one of their homes. Extremely unlikely.
