Thank you so much Chris. Not only for the amazing workout, but for the talk about depression. I suffer terrible depression and anxiety, and today I had actually planned an all-day-in-bed day. But this morning when I woke up I thought about you, and decided I would do my workout - even if that's all I do, and then go back to bed. It's really ironic that I cholse this workout, and you talked about depression. It is a monster, and I believe it should be talked about much more openly than it is. Thank you so much for all you do. Your words today meant the whole world to me. It's OK to not be OK.

I too suffer from severe anxiety and depression and with this long winter ahead of us it’s even worse. To make everything even worse I was diagnosed last August with Epilepsy due to a brain arachnoid cyst BUT I will NOT let this stop me. I too wanted to stay in bed this morning but I force myself every day and do every single live class, Mobility and even more step classes. I won’t let this beat me. So I did not want to tell anyone about all this but if it can help anyone then I did the right thing. You have saved my sanity Chris and for this I will always be so thankful ! 💕❤️🥰

Love some back and chest work! Doubled down on weightlifting today. May have to roll out of bed and crawl yet my back and chest feel gnarled in all the best ways. Also thanks for the comments on depression. I’m predisposed to it and have had my bouts. It’s been a while since I was swimming in it yet what you say is true. All the pills western medicine throws at it are crap shoots- best thing to do is to get up and move for moving’s sake. I recall waiting in line at target to get a refill on Zoloft while an elderly woman asked the pharmacist, with tears in her eyes, “when is this going to start working-I’ve been on it 3 months” I walked out without my rx and just kept on walking. Not for everyone I know yet the more I know of science and the brain after talking to scientists who study the brain -meds for me were not the answer. A dog the woods physical activity and music pulled me thru and continue to work their magic Thanks for sharing your imperfections- they make me love you even more. And as always, thanks for all you do. Keep on keeping on.

Thank you Chris for this great workout today! Some moves I tried heavier until my muscles said,”I’m done.” Thank you for the information about form throughout the workout. You can definitely build a strong core without working abs just by holding them in doing other exercises. I have gone through many bouts of depression. It’s really difficult and I tend to also hide away and avoid people. I had a friend pass away a little over 3 months ago and it’s been tough. She was probably my best friend and I talked to her the most frequently. Thank you for sharing that! In the moment you feel alone but this is a reminder that others are sometimes going through the same thing. You really never know what somebody else is feeling or going through. I appreciate you being a positive influence about so many different things. Finding your channel has been a life changer! 💗

Thank you, Chris, for an excellent class! This one is going in my library of favorites. I find all the strength workouts challenging but this one particularly so. It was tough and I felt so good that I finished it. I took my dogs for a walk right afterwards and suddenly realized I was walking so tall - I’m 5’8” and usually a sloucher - and there was a spring in my step and I realized I was just really proud of myself for how far I’ve come. I just started doing regular strength training (thanks to you!) the past 6 months and I can’t believe how much stronger I am. I’m going to have to invest in 25 lb weights soon I think! So thanks again for this class and all the classes! I so appreciate it! ❤

Great upper body workout! Still feeling it 7 hours later, probably will feel it even more in the advanced step tomorrow. Thank you for sharing about depression, I had a major episode ironically after I was done my cancer treatment. It hit me out of the blue; thankfully a change to meds helped me. I know they’re not for everyone but they saved my life. Working out daily was a huge part as well. Some days I would go straight from chemo to the gym. My oncologist thinks that’s one of the reasons I did so well with minimizing side effects.

I’m so glad you brought up the subject of emotional ups and downs and how during the downs we may not feel like doing anything. I go through days like that often and I know it is because my tank is empty. I give and do so much for others that l am left with nothing. Guess what? I find that what we do here, working out, is a way to refill my empty tank. I’m not a doctor but I know that exercise boosts serotonin levels, the “feel good hormone” and is a way to recover from burnout. What you provide us, with these workouts is truly priceless. I started working out with you, Chris, when the gyms closed down from the pandemic. You have seen me through a lot, including a heart attack in 2021. Today I’m so much healthier, stronger, mentally focused, and happier. Thank you!

This is Donna from Austin and before I moved here 14 years ago, I grew up and lived in the northeast. It was gray from November to May (besides the brown snow and trees). Talk about seasonal affective disorder and being down! Here in Austin the sun shines a lot and I am sooo much more energetic and happier and I truly attribute it to the sun. I don't even mind a few dark days as it's cozy - what a complete w! I wish you could come to Austin - maybe that will help during those long winter months! 😘👍👍Thanks for a great upper body class, Chris.👏👏

Another fabulous workout by Chris! My pecs are going to be feeling that later! 😅 I have a masters degree in marriage and family therapy (just the degree, not the license) and I just want to say thank you for talking about depression. People need to know that it’s ok to ask for help and that most people go through this either for a short period of time or chronically. I love that you and Amanda check in on each other. A support system is so important! One thing I have learned that I was not taught in my program is how much lifestyle matters when it comes to mental health. The gut microbiome is the second brain and most of our serotonin is actually made in the gut. So important to be on top of gut health as one aspect of managing mental health! So grateful for your workouts and your willingness to be vulnerable! ❤️

Thanks Chris for the workout! I also think we have to talk openly about menthal health problems. It is still often a tabu theme and affected people think they are alone and do not seek help. We can only change it, if we speak openly about the topic.

Great workout! My body and my spirit thank you. For me, the worst part of anxiety and depression is how lonely and isolated I feel. Your courage in opening up about your experience makes it easier for me to go forward, knowing I'm not alone. With every workout, you show us strength comes in many different forms. I'll be going back to this one a lot. Thank you, Chris.

This was a great upper body workout. I used 5kg and 4kg throughout which is heavy for me. For any ladies out there who are still unsure about upper body strength, one of the bonus side effects is that it lifts and firms your boobs! Not everything has to go south past 50😊 Thank you Chris for your fabulous workouts. ❤

Over the past few months your lectures (😊) on strength training have been sinking in and today was my first strength class. What took me so long?! I loved it! I used 5,8 and 10 lb dumbbells and made it through the entire class. I will get stronger! I am inspired by you and cannot thank you enough.

Oomph. I have been more of a cardio queen lately (step, walking and pickleball) and have not been doing strength and I really notice it in the weights I use now( lighter ones) and the definition in my arms and legs. Slowly gonna work back into it again. I am feeling weaker in my shoulders, knees and my core. I have always known how important it is and now I am truly seeing why. Those bat wings are gonna get firmer again 😅. Thanks as always Chris 💕😎🙏🏻

I decided to do this workout Saturday morning even though my arm was sore and hurt to move from a vaccine shot I had Friday. I’m so glad I did, didn’t lift as heavy as I normally would but it helped to relieve the soreness I had and able to move it more freely than when I woke up. Hopefully I’ll be able to do more movement tomorrow as I also completed Day 28 mobility challenge and the cardio yoga this evening. Both of the movements removed the tension and relaxed my body. Thank you for the fun workouts. Especially the Calgon take me away phrase. Made me laugh.

Great upper body workout! I've been using heavier weights and now I see my arms have more definition in them. Love that you also talked about depression. I have been dealing with it myself for almost 30 years. It's not an illness that people see such as cancer so some people just don't understand it. Unless you or someone you know has been going through it, only then can one have comprehension and compassion. Thank you Chris for being open about your own experiences!❤❤💪
