Some information. Burr was Vice President for Jefferson’s first term. Then Jefferson made sure a rule was passed by Congress that would allow him to kick off Burr for the second term. And most of the anger that incited Burr was a combination of this and Hamilton stopping Burr from winning the governor of NY

Also, Burr was angry about Hamilton talking shit and demanded an apology, which Alex refused in his arrogantly bratty way.
Burr is so pissed. Like, he's angry. One could say he's perturbed. He could pass as infuriated. Blistering from his frustration. Seathing and scathing anger. He's got a Burr-ning anger.

In the original version Alexander actually mentions his wife who passed away which pisses Burr off even more

I listened to a previous version of the song, but don't remember that. I remember that instead of "good man", Burr says "young man", but that is all I remember.
My favorite detail about this song is the beginning. In all of the other songs that have that same intro of "Alexander Hamilton", the strings sound like a squeaky door opening, but in this, there is a thud. I view it as symbolizing both Alexander slamming the door of opportunity that Burr pursued in his campaign, (the door to the room where it happens, if you will), and also the door slamming of Alex's life, his story has come to an end, and he only has himself to blame.
Because I haven't seen anyone question it, I figured I would clarify the song title. "Your Obedient Servant, [Sender Name]" (Stylized as "Your Obt. St.") Was a fairly common method of ending formal letters during this era. It would be the equivalent of ending an email to your boss with "Kindest Regards, [Sender's Name]" or something similar. Quite a few early presidents have letter written to their cabinet/senators closed with "Your Obedient Servant". Burr and Hamilton specifically did have a correspondence before their duel (The years got moved around a bit for the sake of the musical not being too long, but it stands) and they both did end all their letters to each other with "Your Obt. St, A. Burr/A. Hamilton" respectively.
The list of disagreements thing happened in alexander hamilton's duel with james monroe, actually, and aaron burr was his second and stopped the duel. if you watch hamilton's drunk history episode you can see it. Hamilton was very pissed off at Burr at taking his father's seat in the senate, the broadway version plays it down, but the extended version paints it more clearly. I think it is easy to see as Burr as the only angry one, but they both had disagreements they weren't willing to let go.

In fact, what caused Burr's incident with Hamilton, was that after the vice presidency, Burr ran as a candidate for governor of New York, but Hamilton intervened so that he did not win for the same reasons that Hamilton did not vote for him for the presidency in 1800. Lin-Manuel Miranda cut that part (Like the whole incident with James Monroe) to make the story short.

Correction, father in law. Philip Schuyler was his father in law.
For burr, it's like wanting to be the lead singer in a group and being stuck as the backup vocals all because someone you thought was a friend said you didn't deserve to be lead singer.
I recommend "hamilfilm but it's just chaos" There are three of them right now.

They’re hilarious especially the Reynolds pamphlet choreography
Burr served a term as Vice President for Jefferson, but Jefferson kind of shut him out of all cabinet proceedings due to his distrust of Burr over the 1800 election. Burr didn't duel Hamilton until 1804. This isn't Hamilton wrongly assuming Burr was VP, he was and had been for a few years.

After watching all the animatics, y'all should watch Ziksua 's animatic of Congratulations (it's supposed to be Angelica's song after Reynolds pamphlet but it was cut off)
Can I recommend that after you finish this you do the animatics for six the Musical?
Hey, guys. I bought into your Patreon for the other reactions and the full reaction to the live Hamilton. Just wanted to say that the raw emotion you guys displayed with each other, while reacting to the full D+ Hamilton, really struck a cord with me. I proposed to my girlfriend a bit over a month ago, and pray our marriage is as beautiful and loving as your's both. God bless and thanks for the reactions! They definitely do make a difference.
I think the letter calling Burr Vice President reflects that Hamilton assumed that he was. Wrongly.

Burr was the Vice President during Jefferson’s first term, it was only during his second term that Jefferson got his wish of “the guy that comes in second” not be Vice President.

Aaron Burr was vice president during the first term of Thomas Jefferson's presidency, but the president did not give him much involvement.

He was Vice President for the first term. 2nd term he wasn’t, so he decides to run for New York governor. Hamilton also spoke against him and lost him the vote for that. That’s when Burr challenges him to a duel. The play kind of merged the 2 events together for sake of storytelling.

He was Vice President during the first term, but Jefferson didn’t let him have much involvement in terms of making decisions. Burr really only was Vice President in terms of the name.

In the context of the play, in contrast to reality, he was denied the role of Vice President. The letter represented in the song is addressed to an Aaron Burr who was not Vice President, despite it containing that greeting.

Guys, this was how people defended their family's honor: duels.
The ending of "The Election of 1800" is (I think) an abridged version of what happened between the election and the duel. Burr was not upset about losing the election, it was because Alexander slandered him and refused to apologize (if you read the actual letters between the two, keep some migraine medicine handy because even a brilliant actor like Lin could not adequately depict the arrogance by Alexander) and then when Jefferson decided to change the law so that Madison could be his VP, that all added up to Burr finally standing up to Alex for the first time in three decades of psychological abuse, gaslighting ("even if I said what you think I said"), and humiliation .
I was supposed to do this in a lip sync battle before COVID canceled school. I hate this year.

Check out Hamilton Polka by Weird Al.
You guys are my favorite Hamilton reactions
I've seen so many content creators lose their original videos that I feel like if I ever started making KZread videos, I'd be so worried about losing videos that I'd save every video on like five different flash drives. Granted, knowing me, I'd lose at least two of those flash drives. 😂
You guys are so cute I have no idea why anyone would hack you. I've looked into what it takes to do such a thing and it's a lot of work. I love all of your Hamilton stuff thanks for sharing
The actual letters between the two really shine a light on how arrogant Alexander was in the end. I suppose his reference to Socrates in Act One is appropriate, because Socrates' friends attempted to get him to escape imprisonment before his execution via hemlock, but his idiotic belief that taking the opportunity he was given to save himself would be wrong got him killed. He refused to save himself, solely because he had a superiority complex when it comes to morality. All Alex had to do was apologize, and the whole situation could've ended there. Hell, he could've just not gone to Weehawken. He had every opportunity to save himself.
Oh god get ready to cry guys

Some awesome like... side songs? That I love are Congratulations and First Burn.
is no one gonna mention they accidentally reacted to like, the shippiest animatic there is of these two😭 they kiss and twirl dance ajd everything, anda the creator is big on Burrham
Ok: so the vice president, especially in that time, doesn't actually have a job. All they are constitutionally obligated for is to assume the presidency if the president dies and to vote to break a tie in the senate. They have almost no actual power, just a joke of a title
In the musical, the point of his anger was the fact that he wasn't VP. Jefferson didn't like him so he changed law to prevent him from being VP. That is one reason why he was so enraged with Hamilton because A. Ham did all the things A.Burr is trying to do but he seems to control his life from afar.

A. Ham A.Burr Hamburrger.
The best example IS being a KZreadr or an editor. The Vice President is basically a glorified secretary. No one ever remembers them either.
Can you react to congratulations it was cut for the play two over a time limit
Still waiting for that reaction to the World Was Wide Enough animation.
I need to catch up with the Hamilton reactions but seeing how we are at this song I know we are super far in
Uh oh
Can you guys please do first burn
Burr’s daughter died too…
You guys need to react to congratulations it’s a song Angelica sang it’s a Hamilton animatic
The one thing I hate about this animatic is that Burr is drawn to look evil. He was a good man, he just hit his breaking point and once he challenged Alexander, he knew he couldn't back down without an apology from Alexander, and then Alexander, a marksman, wore glasses to the duel, which he would only do to make his aim better. The saddest thing is that if Burr were a politician today, his "lack of beliefs" wouldn't be perceived as that, he'd be perceived as a moderate, and would probably win elections.
How about reactions to all of the Hamilton White House videos? Including the first one from 2009 and some of the Ham4Ham White House videos.

Burr wasn`t even picked to be vice-president. Jefferson dissmissed the whole branch entirely after winning the election. Hamilton wasn`t aware of it and assumed Burr to be vice-president by default. Burr had every right to be pissed.

Could you do a reaction to six the musical it’s about Henry the eight’s wives
VP in those days had no real power, they were just the spare. It wasn't until later that VPs started taking an active role in politics.
Except vice presidents don't do jack shitaki
Why would people react to animatics when the actual show is available now?
