Fun fact! In the workshop/off broadway version of this, they used the actual correspondence of their letters...and Hamilton brought Theodosia, Burr's dead wife. "Look, I'm sorry things are rough without your wife, but...", or something to that extent. In this version I was 60% Burr, 40% Ham. The workshop version tilted it to 90% Burr, 10% Ham.

The thing with Burr and Alexander is that whereas Alexander could be like 'yeah, we have different political views, but i still consider him a friend' Aaron was more of a 'I am offended you don't share the same views as me and will now see every thing you disagree with me on as a personal attack on my character', which is honestly a very sad way to live your life. Aaron didn't like that Alexander was outspoken with his opinions/beliefs, and Alex didn't like that that Burr was a 'wait and see everyone else's opinion and then side with the majority' kind of dude.
