🍒Vegan Cherry Sauce: • Vegan Christmas Desser...
INGREDIENTS:
#1 Healthy Oat Waffle:
1 cup oats, small cut (90g)
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
2 ½ tbsp raw sugar (forgot to mention in the video, can be omitted technically if preferred)
1 tsp vanilla protein powder (sub w 1 tsp ground hemp seeds/almonds + ½ tsp vanilla OR 1 tsp oats + ½ tsp vanilla OR only add ½ tsp vanilla OR omit entirely)
½ cup non dairy milk (125ml)
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
2 ½ tbsp unsweetened applesauce
→ serves 1 - yields 1-2 waffles (i made one big one but feel free to make 2-3 smaller ones)
#2 Fluffy Cinnamon Raisin Apple Waffles
1 cup + 2 Tbsp flour (125g + 2 tbsp)
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp cornstarch
3/4 cup plant milk (180ml)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
4 Tbsp applesauce
3 Tbsp raw sugar
a handful of raisins
½ apple, chopped into small cubes
→ yields around 5 waffles
~ 2 servings
#3 Crispy Potato Waffles
5 - 6 medium sized potatoes (800-1000g or 1.76 - 2.2 pounds)
1 tbsp cold vegan butter
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
2/3 tsp salt
1 spring onion, chopped
spices of choice to taste, like paprika, dried herbs, chili, pepper etc
2 tbsp corn starch
~ 3 servings
→ makes 6 - 8 little waffles ; 1 handful of potato dough = 1 waffle
#4 Belgian Style Waffles
200 ml warm non dairy milk (not boiling hot) (¾ cup + 1 ¼ tbsp)
2 tbsp raw sugar
½ tsp vanilla
2 ½ tbsp applesauce
60ml melted vegan butter (¼ cup)
1 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
125 g all purpose flour (1 cup)
1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
½ tsp salt
→ yields 4 - 6 smaller sized waffles
~2-3 servings
TO NOTE:
How many waffles you’re gonna get out of these waffle mixes and how long they need to bake for is going to differ from waffle maker to waffle maker (and also on your personal preference) start with one and see how it goes haha
If you’re trying to make these into pancakes then bake them for 3-4 minutes on either side , flip once bubbles are forming
Also always oil your waffle iron! Between each new batch; get into every little corner, grease that thing

I love how you just yeet the bowl out of the way when you're done adding the ingredients. It makes me chuckle every time.
A weird tip is to re-heat your waffles in a toaster and not in a microwave 🥰

*I bought this to replace an old Sunbeam waffle **MyBest.Kitchen** and pancake maker that my parents received as a wedding present. It is very simple to use and makes perfect waffles. I followed the instructions and lightly seasoned the waffle grids before using it the first time, and my waffles pop right out without any sticking at all. The indicator light system makes very consistent waffles, just slight the lever to the doneness you like, pour batter on when the green light is on and remove when the red light comes on. I can make four large waffles in about five minutes.*
Hey by the way if you don’t have apple sauce, you can mash up a banana and use a couple spoons of that. It has almost the same consistency:)

I made your vegan crepes last week and they were a hit! I make the best waffles but not vegan so my daughter won't eat them anymore :( I'll try these this week. I tried the Belgium Waffles the other day and just trying them as pancakes today and the only thing I can say is: I‘m mind blown. Don‘t know why I have never thought of that myself because I just looove the taste of yeast but I‘m absolutely in love with them. Danke dir für das Kartoffel Waffeln Rezept! Mein Sohn (4 Jahre alt) ist ein super anspruchsvoller Esser..sprich er mag echt wenig. Aber die Waffeln fand er super. :) Und ich hab direkt mehr gemacht als Meal Prep Beilage für die Arbeit.

I definitely plan on trying the potato waffles, but with frozen hash browns.
Potato waffles are the best for lunch or dinner and be very creative with the possible toppings. One can write a cookbook on this subject only.

I tried the first one but I used banana instead of applesauce because I didn't have applesauce and I wasn't going to go to the store just to buy applesauce... ANYWAYS this was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
