Man this is so cool! What transmission did you use? Did you have to mess with the gearing to allow it to reach highway speeds? I'm just curious because I have the motor and the vehicle to put it in but I'm not sure where to go for a transmission. I have the 3speed Manuel for the 53 F-100 and debating on making an adapter plate to fit the 353. But any information on how you did yours would be greatly appreciated!

4 speed era gm, had a hi/lo aux. Yes, had a custom rear end built for it, 2:23 ratio. got up to 75 mph with it!!

@@procharged496 no kidding! Man that's awesome! I was just hoping for at least 60 haha. Brother you just made me and my dad very happy. That's all I really needed to know but if I could pick your brain for one last little Minor question. How much MPG did you get with that non turbo version? I honestly don't care what mine gets but I saw someone on here claiming with a turbo set up and a bio diesel mixture he was getting about 51 MPG which sounds waaay too good to be true. Amazing truck brother. Hope to see more of it in the future!

Im installing a detroit in my prius. Im just not sure where to run the exhaust pipe/pipes. Im thinking a side by side from under then up through the middle of the car with a 45 degree back angle 3 feet high.

@@charliemartin5482 No dreaming here. I have the prius....no batteries. I have a small old dock barge with the detroit...no trans. Im looking for an old truck trans for the detroit. The V drive trans gear box wont work...only has one foward gear and reverse.

Detroit's was always called the Great Pretenders and Screaming Jimmy's. They made a lot of noise and No pulling power.

I wonder if the Detroit has more power than the stove bolt 6 it came with ?

horsepower wise about the same ~ 100. Torque I can’t remember but I’d say the Detroit was probably a little better off

In his first video of this truck's description, he states that it's a non turbo (3-53N) and has N60 injectors.

Was hoping to see the infamous 60 in reverse, isn’t this the truck with the double transmission?

Do you have a customized bell housing to accommodate the am trans?

Why the 2:23 ratio?? Why not just add an overdrive to a 3:73 or 3:50

+scott blume 3" downpipe to 4" 304 stainless tube. I thought about that, but wanted to keep high/low range trans in it cause it's different. Needed that ratio to get to 75 mph.

@@procharged496 Saw a utube where a guy used 2 transmissions and bolted in the 2nd one backwards. That way he had a 3 speed overdrive and could keep the 3:73 rear end.
