Wonderful interview 👏 It cannot be stated enough how important The Pointer Sisters are. All the barriers that they broke through might be perceived as personal triumphs for them as people, but the service to the world and other people is huge. It's not just their music, it's not just their colour... But it all came together to demonstrate something wonderful in times of inequality and persecution, and it made a huge difference 💗

She's so open and so candid about her life, her autobiography need to be on screen. Fairytale should be a movie 💯. We definitely need a docu-series about The Pointer Sisters too. She basically she said shit, that's the first time. I heard her curse 22:39 🤣😍💜. Mrs. ANITA is my favorite Pointer Sister😘😍💜.

I saw that too. LOL I remember her asking people to repost/share that video on Facebook and she would send a private message to each person who does it. So I did, and she messaged me saying that her younger fans (like me) also inspire her. The message was longer than I had expected. That was so sweet of her. 💕 I just love Anita!

But on SeriusXM "Soul Town" channel, I hear Automatic, Yes, You Can, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town at Christmas time and in the supermarkets/restaurants, I frequently hear Jump, Automatic and He's So Shy! Once or twice I've heard I'm so excited while shopping. I wonder why their music is not played more often.

Great interview! I watched this all the way through. I just love hearing Anita’s stories. ♥️ Although I’ve heard some of her stories from past interviews, I still don’t get tired of hearing them over and over again. I totally agree with her about the song “Could I be Dreamin’”. That song was so beautiful, I listen to it all the time. Actually that particular album “Special Things” has a lot of great songs! 💕 So sad to hear her stories about discrimination (In a way, I was able to relate). 💔 What an incredible, versatile, talented, and beautiful woman she is! 😍 I was not even born yet at the time of the peak of her career (I’m only 27), but I’m a living proof that her and her sisters’ music lives on in my generation. So honoured to have seen The Pointer Sisters live in concert twice (I just wanna say when mama Anita walked onto the stage, the first time I saw her, I was so starstrucked my goodness!). I love artists like Dionne Warwick (saw her live too!) and Diana Ross too, but I always tell everyone that Anita Pointer has always been (and will always be) number one in my heart. ♥️ She has always been an inspiration to me. I just love her. Thank you so much for posting this. Again, great interview! 👏

"Special Things is, indeed, a great album, one of their strongest, as well as "Black and White". I still marvel at the consistency of their work as a trio - not to dismiss their work as a quartet, it's just that I much prefer what they did later on. Not many acts managed to sustain such high-quality standards for such a long time.

Anita, The Pointer Sisters' music was -- and still is -- part of the fabric of my life. "The Pointer Sisters," with Tom Salisbury on keyboards = fascinating. "That's a Plenty," "Steppin'." Such great albums. Your "old songs" are my old friends. And I know the words to every song, but I still can't keep up with "Salt Peanuts!"

Such a wonderful singer, songwriter, performer...But the record company DID release "I'm So Excited" as the second single of the "So Excited !" album, and it peaked at #30 on the Hot 100 in 1982. Of course, the remixed it and re-released it on "Break Out" and then it finally got its due. :)
