Your settlers can use the existing beds at Covenant, you just use the same assignment process like at any other settlement, however there is one bed that can be quite stubborn I've found.

Another thing I just found out about the Covenant turrets is, they can turn hostile to turrets you place down! I couldn't figure out how to move the turrets and did notice that they didn't count toward my settlement defense so I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to place my own turrets next to them, then the first time I was attacked there, I guess one of my turrets hit one of the established turrets and they all started shooting each other. My turrets were a higher level I guess and so they destroyed all the ones that were already there but now now I have a bunch of smoldering junk piles on the walls >=/

The board trick is perfect for the holes in the road outside the boathose.

You can actually put all signs to all the posts. Just put the sign to bethesda premade house or anything you can't select and move and use pillar glitch to move the sign to the post.

Yes I know I am playing catch up but I have been playing for less than a year so there's that. But these are terrific video guides for newer players such as me still learning the ropes of settlement building (my favourite part of the game). Yeah it's kind of overwhelming when you first start messing with the settlements because of all the things players can do, many of which the game doesn't do a very good job of telling.

Awww i wish i knew that covenant trick beforehand, blew up the turrets a long time ago.

You can use the beds in covenant, assign a settler to the bed, and then you can use it, I assign them to the bed, then to something else but then you can use the beds yourself. and the turrets I destroyed them and then waited about an ingame week and the debris went away lol does take a while though for them to go

NICE! Now I have completed the game , and I am at LvL125, I need to find things to get me motivated to go back into playing it . Watching you ( thanks to @norespawns ) and now you I have some settlement re-structuring to do . YAY! a WiN -WiN scenario , it means I now have to LOOT EVERYTHING and make a ton of jet to pay for the shipments and stuff I need to do that. Did I say thank you ..... ah well I have now :)

Unfortunately the ability to do that glitch with the beds was patched right after I made this video. So it doesn't work anymore :(

When did you record this video? The reason I ask is the 1.6 patch (came out on Tuesday) seemed to remove the ability to move the Covenant beds and the turrets; I haven't been able to use the group-select function on them since then. None of the used-to-be-removable beds (Tenpines, Warwick, etc.) are selectable this way any more either. :(

I did record this last week, and haven't tried removing any of them since the patch came out, I didn't know it effected it. I'll do my own test. That would be a huge bummer if it's patched.

I really hope it isn't and it's just a bug of some kind, or maybe it's platform specific (I'm on XB1). If it still works for you please tell me how you did it? I unlocked Covenant just the other day and immediately pulled down the turrets, but I was like "meh, I'm tired now, I'll leave the beds for tomorrow." Of course, "tomorrow" was patch day. /sigh

Well, it seems you are right, it has been patched. So not happy about that! Why would they patch that? Why do they care if we get rid of those beds? Makes no sense! I mean, it's not like it was a glitch, it was just group selecting it, and group select is a feature, not a glitch.

My guess is they didn't change it directly, but that it was a result of another fix they did. They've been working on optimizing the settlement/settler code recently. I would imagine this is just an unfortunate side effect. :(

Very unfortunate. I would love it if they just patched the whole inability to scrap those beds in the first place. It makes using Covenant very undesirable.

She's on PS4 which doesn't allow many mods. So, her builds are vanilla. There are a couple glitchy tricks that have become features. The one with the post is one of them. Another is to go into build mode and scrap/store things, even guns/armor. This gets you more space. Beware lag/framerate loss.

Well ps4 have a mod which give you infinite build budget

Destroyed Covenant turrets can be moved and scrapped/removed with the group select feature. Or, at least, they could the last time I tried. Just make some floor near or through them and group select that piece to move them. I'll have to redo Covenant to see if the patch you mention "fixed" this. My walk-way around the Covenant wall may be a relic of a bygone era.

I'm having an issue where my companions don't go back to their place of origin. Nick and Piper doesn't go back to diamond city, MacCready doesn't go back to Goodneighbor, so on and so forth. Does anyone know of a method to fix this apart from stashing them in a settlement I don't go to?

Yeah, if you ever sent them to any of your settlements, you can never send them back to their place of origin again, unfortunately. I never send my followers to my settlements for that reason, unless they're the one my character is romancing.

It's been a few weeks since I played, but I thought if you dismissed a companion and didn't pick a settlement they went back to default location

poisonedxvalentyne That's true. But if once you do send them to a settlement, you won't be able to ever send them back to their place of origin, and you'll always have to send them to a settlement.
