Vanquisher changed the game for me with their Rx. Prescription goggles were no longer +$300 custom orders. Getting a prescription pair for $40 meant I could read pace clocks and workouts. Total game changer.

Aquagoggles has prescription swim goggles as well for $40, and you can select a different strength for each eye if needed.

It sucks if you're farsighted like me, though. I have to get the custom $200 one with my rx.

Vanquishers were the first goggles that stayed put during my racing dive. Also use bungee straps, found that they significantly extended the life of the goggles. the back strap would get to "flimsy", 3-4 months and couldn't find a replacement. Now as long as the goggles themselves don't break, I can 1 year+

Perfect video for my junior year coming up. And many of my very close senior friends just left which leaves less distractions even if it was good and I can focus even more

For me the favourite goggles are definatly Arena Cobra Ultra Mirror but that older white colour way with golden colorful mirrors and without swipe technology that was forme the best colorway

You are NOT kidding about the vanquishers lasting a long time. My facility just opened their brand new, outdoor 50-meter pool (she's a beaut) last week and I wipped out my vanquishers from BEFORE 2000 that had been just sitting in my swim bag and they were ready to go!

Masters Swimmer Backstroker here! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Women's Vanquishers 2.0!! Can't do the swedes. I may give your favs a try!

Those bungee straps would always rip with my swedish goggles, so I started using elasic shoebands. They are super durable and you can adjust the length easily cause of the quick release fastener. Really recomend that, like as an alternative.

I actually wear the vanquishers with bungees as my meet googles, but for practices I got these phelrena googles. I had never heard of them before, but they actually work very well and they come with ear plugs and A NOSE CLIP!

The only reason I switched from speedo to TYR is cost. Speedo is expensive. Nowadays I use TYR tracer edge-x. They are really nice. Very low profile, mirrored and offers wide range view. Love them

Haha, so funny that a few of the older swimmers in my masters group do use the Swedish goggles 🤣😁 I use the speedo V-class, I used 1 pair since 2018, until April this year (I lost them at a meet), and they were still so good! But a bit ripped. Got a new pair, still V-class 😊❤️ I perfer larger goggles, so they don't hurt or squeeze really bad 😅😊

Cody what's the best concoction for cleaning your goggles for getting them squeaky clean?

Did have a pair of Vanquishers, but didn't care for them. They have a facet on one edge, kind of like the Dressel type. I do like their pro goggles like you use, but I have one problem with them, the nose bridge, the biggest one has the goggle frames too close to my nose and they dig in. Ones I like best were the Michael Phelps signature goggles, which I think are made by Aquasphere now. They just fit me better. Also, I am totally an indoor swimmer, and like clear or polarized lenses.

I wear sweed my dad used to swim with them and I just love them

I am both team speedo and team TYR (no hate to either). I personally wear the "caleb Dressel" goggles if I wear speedo but I LOVE and I mean LOVE the TYR Tracer-x goggles. But both are amazing!! Thanks Cody, for making my days. Also, what happened to Blakes channel????

Hey there, would You know which ones are best for eyes with glaucoma?

When I was in high school, I had pairs of Swedes - I actually WAS able to use bungees in them - not the fancy rubber kind you used in this video, but it was more like a real thin camping or backpacking type of bungee. When we were really annoying as kids, we would change the colors so one goggle would be blue and one would be red or yellow, or whatever. LOL. Now in my old age, I use the Vanquishers, because you can get them in prescription. Fun episode!

I bought a pair of Vanquishers, but hated them. They leaked and fogged up all the time. I really like my Speed Sockets. I ended up buying 2 pairs!

I only started swim a year ago and I used to have the kids speedo then I found the vanquisher and fell in love.

I used the original swedes in the early 90s, I stopped to swimming for for 15 years now I am back, I got the same yellow Orginal swedes I had, I have socket 2.0 but the hyper elite is my favorite, no way I comeback to use the other 2.

I cant for the life of me find any Silicone Bungee straps... The only thing i can find are Bungee straps with a woven outer layer. @CodyMiller can you tell me what brand of Bungee strap you are using ? or point me in the right direction where i can buy some ? Thanks

I think the arena cobra ultra is the best

I rarely have problems with fogging googles and I don't use any kind of anti-fog liquid. When you finish your swim and head to the shower, squirt a bit of soap on the googles (or use your shampoo). Let the soap sit while you shower and rinse off when you done. Be sure to rinse! Then, never touch the insides of the googles, or worse lick them. Most google makers put an anti-fog coating on the googles, and fingers and saliva will damage that coating. I've been doing this for years and own several pairs. The only time I have a problem with foggy is if I forget to rinse them. You should soap and rinse between events at meets, or use another pair. Especially of the last one is the 1500/1650.

Wish Speedo would bring back goggles with foam cushion instead of the plastic suction. Vanquishers (suction) give me a headache. Swedish goggles sit on my bones which is excruciatingly painful. The way I’m aging is really limiting my choices!! I miss the Compy goggles, the substitutes I’ve found don’t work as well. Foam padding for the win!!

Ah, the Vanquisher. I owned 2 pairs of those, and the goggles somehow lasted long enough for the nose piece to break before anything else. Honestly just the GOAT of goggles.

I dont agree with the swedes+bungee not working. I've worn that combo for years with no problems whatsoever. So I don't know you're on about. Also, are there any differenses between the original malmsten swedes and the speedo ones?

Vanquishers nose piece always broke for me, I went through so many pairs, speed sockets last a lot longer, are more low profile and have the best straps.

He means that you shouldn’t just turn off your brain and swim through the practices like a robot, but actually pay attention to your technique and try to improve upon your stroke, kick, etc. during the practice

No one on my Master's team wears the Swedish goggles. I'd say Vanquishers are the most popular with us old-timers.

Best goggles for me were always the swedish rimless goggles with the string nose piece. When your tired of eating your goggles off the start, you learn to get used to those hard plastic goggle digging into your eye sockets.

Hey, I’m a competitive age group swimmer, and I’m going for a pretty hard off season. So my coach who used the Wisconsin swim team for 22 years is going to another club. I’m also going to that club bc I know that he is an awesome coach. But the one hard thing about this is I’m losing all of my old friends is it worth it?

I know I’m just some random guy but I had to move teams 3 years back because my old teams coaching situation fell apart, it is sooooo worth it to move to a new team, every team is full of amazing coaches and teammates to bring out the best of you as a person and as a swimmer.

I never had to switch teams, but I had friends across many different teams. Switching teams doesn't mean you lose your friends, it just opens you up to making new friends.

All goggels I ever had, expensive, cheaper ones - always fuc..ed me off, more or less similar. Some were ok for a while. Got 4 to 20 a year. Would love a goggle Service, bring it bad, get it fine clean back, each week.
