Great non-tox 28 gauge video. I live in CA and non toxic is mandatory. I load 20 gauge and want to get a 28 this season. Great that you share your tested load data! Appreciate your knowledge 👍

No tox data is hard to come by. I'm happy to share what I can. good luck reloading.

Very informative and helpful. Here in UK there is nothing yet available for the 28 in non lead. But from next season we can’t shoot game with lead, so non toxic will be a must.

Wow, That is a bummer. This 3/4oz load in 5,6,7 steel shot is good for clays, small game birds and close in waterfowl work. I may put together some different loads utilizing different wads in the future. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Great video! I just loaded up this load in both Fiocchi and cheddit hulls. So far what I’ve notched is once fired hulls worked way better then new hulls. I’ll be going out to pattern then I’m a few days with the SBE3 28.

This load is deadly on ducks inside of 30. 5's and 4's pattern well for me with Cyl, Skeet and I/C choke. I haven't shot 3's out of the 2 3/4" load.....I have a 7/8oz 3" steel load that is going to be real nice in the SBE3

Great video. I have fallen in love with my 28ga but the dang ammo is expensive. This makes me want to reload my own!

good information. I am also reloading 28 gauge. Using 14grains of 800x for clays. Having a hard time finding the 28 gauge steel shot wads available and would like to load some steel for hunting.

Hey David, The wads are hard to find. I usually stock up when I see them.

Hey nice video! I think once upon a time I asked you for a 28 gauge 1 ounce lead load in an AA hull. I believe it was one of the forums. I think it was a hv28 wad. Do you have a powder drop for that?

That probably was me as I'm the only person I know of that actually has ran the testing for a 1oz lead load in a AA hull. My data is in the shop at the farm. I should be out there this weekend and I'll get that data for you.

When reloading my 28 gauge with my mec 600jr it doesn’t seem to be resizing the shells correctly they’re jamming inside the barrel have you had this issue? Any ideas on how to fix it?

What hulls are you using? I've had that happen with some euro hulls in a gun or too. I think it's the steel base on the euro hulls that don't shrink back from expansion at the shot.

Sometimes it is not the brass but the taper roll crimper you apply at the end of the process... the loaded shell should drop freely into the chamber all the way to the rim

I heard the powder brand but never heard the weight, are you keeping that out of publication for liabilty reasons? If so I can undderstand why. Thanks for the videos.

Using steel in the sub gages requires a full or modified choke system... learned this from experience...!!

Not in my situations. Over decoys inside 30yds.....Cyl and Skeet work just fine.
