Hey folks,
Welcome to the channel. If you'd like load data for loads that I've developed and had tested please go to my website. There you'll be able to download the data for a small fee. This helps me make these videos and keep developing new loads.
Thanks for watching.

I’ll give this a try. Not sure what powder I can get my hands on.
Awesome Video as always. I’m about to start loading for my 410 using one of your Duplex loads. I want to do the same with my 28ga. but I can’t find ANY TPS Wads. Will the 28ga. HV Wads work for a TSS / Steel Duplex Load W/O causing any damage to my Barrels. If not can you point me in the right direction to find something I can use? Thanks for your time and help.
I always carry my chokes and wrench with me. Just in case i need more or less.
Not a bad Idea
I have 2 28ga's. One is 2 and 3/4 & the other is 3". Depending on who you talk to my 3" really isn't a 3". Lol
Steel shot will change that in the 28. 7/8oz of steel is coming. Trust me.
hello and thank you for the video, quick question for you, once adjusted and using a short kit, do the de-primer/resizing thingy need to be adjusted when changing from 3 to 2 3/4?
There shouldn't be much changes that need to be made. Now You may always need to do minor adjustments to the sizing ring depth....but it should be ok.
In your Honest opinion, do you think Bismuth worth the money to Load and Hunt with?
In certain applications it is....It's way less than TSS....It's more than steel....but if your target game is 30yds and in. I think steel wins in the (dollar per shot) test
The fragmentation pin pricks are most likely rebound from the backing plate. You need to buffer bismuth for best results
my backing plate is 6 layers of soft rubber drawer liner. Back layer is steel. I doubt that I'm getting bounce back from my rubber drawer liner material. Yes, buffer helps.....as shown in other videos. Thanks for watching.
The only rack the can fit extra long wheelbase E,-Bikes
Enjoy watching the 28 gauge.
Thanks for watching.
Great Video, what would you say your Go To 28ga. Waterfowl would be? TSS / Steel Duplex or Bismuth loads.
3/4oz 5 steel. That's decoying birds inside 35. Outside of that. 1/2oz steel/1/2 TSS duplex. Ducks to Cranes. takes them all. expensive....but will do the trick.
40 Yards is pushing it for the 28 gauge. Better to keep things under 35 yards.
The standard above 410 is 40yds....so thats what I test all the 28ga stuff at. I may pattern 9s and strictly target loads at 25 for the clay folks. Thanks for watching.
All things being equal, can you Safely Star Crimp a Load that says it was Roll Crimped ? The particular load is a 410 Load that was verified at 9860 PSI using 15.5grs. A 300MP. MV 1025 Which seems pretty anemic to me ?
You can fold crimp but pressure does go up drastically with fold crimp. I'd be very careful.......9860 psi could turn into 14k real quick
@@bullet225ho I think I’ll just stick with the load I got from you. I know it’ll work for sure.
Good video. Thanks.
That’s NASTY , that would be a Duck / Goose CRUSHER LOAD.
What type of velocity are you getting from these loads ?
What is the heaviest 410 Duplex Loads ?
I’m trying to get everything together to start loading my own duplex loads in 28Ga. But I’m unable to find TPS Wads anywhere , I have been able find 28ga. HV Wads and I’ve seen some people saying these will work well. What do you think, will they work?
How do I get your 28ga. TSS / Duplex Load Data ?
my website bullet225ho.com
I think the 23/4 mod had a better pattern 3” looked a little blown out
good observation
That’s AMAZING, Would you think that the #10 TSS would work well on Geese too.
It's a bit small. I'd say 45 and in with 10s
I would stick with 16 and steel
where did you get your load data from?
I developed it myself. It's available at bullet225ho.com
I am working on some 3/4 ounce. loads of 7 1/2 shot lead using the steel 410 BP TPS wad . so far it looks promising not letting the pattern open up as fast from my Mossberg O/U.
Thanks for the shout out. Had a customer report back claiming she killed her turkey this season with the 1-5/8oz load of #10's at 69 yards... My guess is the sheer pellet count is so much that the bird is overwhelmed with shot in the vital areas (more shot on target is more energy)... Mind boggling... Also, I do not recommend people take that kind of a shot with 10's 😅
That is a poke with 10s....LOL
Awesome video!!! I’ll be looking to buy your 28ga loads
Thanks for watching
I feel that through my testing the 410 black hulls using the steel shot wad from BP stops much of the burning ont he wad,. I am using WW296.
Does your carbon fiber rib on your SBE3 have any play in it? I’m thinking about getting that or an ethos but the loose rib is kind of a turn off
It has a little play...but it hasn't come loose. There is a bolt/screw that holds it in....could always do a pre hunt tightening.
@@bullet225ho I spoke with Brandon Cerecke from Boss Shotshells and he said that he put blue loctite on the screw
I really like the show I will say 410s have changed after 50 plus years away from 410 shooting and loading I purchased a 410 sxs love the gun fun to shoot . In my youth I loaded many thousands 410 shells for a single shot shot gun that I still have so I went back to the same load that I used as a kid and wow 3/4oz went threw the conograph at 1280 now that is a little hot but shot fine I always shot the WinAA wad and 2400 powder now the wads you get are claybuster and look the same but I think the plastic is different seems stiffer than I remember and the powder could be a little different over the years so my powder charge will need to be adjusted down a little but am happy with what I see at 30 yards 90 % patern in 30 inch circle and 100 % in 34 inches improved mod choke slowing the load should make pattern even better no.8 shot thank you for your content keep it up
Will you post your load data for the 2 3/4 in Steel load
available at bullet225ho.com
I really appreciate you taking the time to be very thorough in your video and sharing your knowledge with us.
thanks for watching
My BP roll crimped hulls do the same thing. I can cut them down to a little over 2 1/2 and then cut them again for a 2 inch short range 410 round perhaps using Nitro cards instead of a plastic wad. Like you said that is what it is all about , we learn , we experiment and we grow in the hobby. I love reloading and have for 43 years.
Thanks for watching. And yes...with 410 hulls these days....we need every use out of them we can get.
To ID my shells, I like to take a billion hours and use a custom stencil to mark them like factory loads lol.
Hey, is the cycling issue in semi-autos with certain shells mainly a phenomenon that occurs in 28ga and .410 bore? I haven't had the same problems with my 20ga so far.
Just FYI, I was told by BPI that it isn't a good idea to fold crimp a roll crimp load for pressure reasons.
Thanks for the information, think im gonna roll crimp my new hulls, any downside to roll crimping a fold crimp load?
Roll crimping a fold recipe will get you lower pressure and lower velocity...it will be safe...but it may not perform as expected. Thanks for watching
Best patterning shotgun I've ever had. What is an old JC Higgins fixed improved modified. In 16 . With the days of choke tubes. Extended choke tubes are always going to out pattern any factory choke tubes. It's not all about constriction. It's also about the speed of said constriction. More deformed pellets. Because of super fast restriction. Will loosen the pattern
Your probably way more right than you are wrong. Thanks for watching
Love your TSS videos! Question for you. Have you used any of the Orbea brand 410 hulls sold by Astra Sports. With 410 hulls being pretty hard to find lately, I was excited to find them in stock. My understanding is they are made by Servios Y Aventuras. I've heard they can be loaded the same as Cheddite hulls. Any info would be appreciated.
I have not. Not yet. I think I may get some and see what they do. If availability is going to be there then we should utilize them if we can.
Good show , you did a good ammount of work on that one , appreciate it.
Great stuff man.
Great videos. Really helpful in keeping my expectations within reality. Thanks a bunch
Wish they would make a tps wad unslit so i could control the spread a little more just a thought
That wad performs better when you separate the stitching at the top. Same with 410.
Great video! I have only had my 94lb ebike for a couple of weeks and I just installed it and realize my tires are not going to fit in the indentations that are meant for a cycle. I also didn't like that it stuck out on the sides of my SUV. That little bit of extra work will make a great bike carrier!
Have you ever or do you have any 28ga. 3” TSS Turkey Loads ?
Not yet. Not really a need with a 1 5/8oz load available...but..it's on my radar
@@bullet225ho Yeah I understand that completely. I’m trying to find 28ga. TPS wads for loading 2 3/4” loads. Do you any idea or connections where I could find them?
In my experience, whatever your max distance is with other guages, you'll find your max distance with the 410 to be about 10 yards less. With that in mind, I'd pattern at 30 yards instead of 40. Don't know the exact cause of the hull damage, but they are definitely getting too hot. Maybe the friction from the unprotected shot column? Might try some buffer or a full-length wad. Smaller shot sizes work best. The 410 maxes out with #6. Anything larger performs poorly - until you get to double and triple ought and slugs. Those work okay. It's definitely a fun little cartridge, and the older I get, the more I find myself reaching for the lighter 410...........😏
So if I’m wanting to try something like this in a 12 or 20 gauge would you start with a bismuth load and substitute out the 1/2oz of tss like you do for a steel/tss load or can I use a steel load and just load it up with the bismuth/tss duplex?
Would love to see the numbers and pattern on a roll crimp of this. I like the cost effectiveness of roll crimping
May do some roll crimping. Pressure and velocity will be lower.
I reload 1 5/8 for 28ga and roll crimp it it kills like lightning and so does 1 1/2 once load 9.5 shot is plenty to kill at 50 yards out of my 28sa with the 3 step choke from trulock
Pattern 410 at 30m
I own a BBSHD system on a Specialized Rockhopper and I like your choice of equipment. Definitely clean up those wires and get rid of the barber pole thing with the power cabling. I am thinking about a dolomite with a 3KW rear hub motor running 72 volts. I'm not sure that a gun rack would go over well in Los Angeles though LOL!
I've cleaned it up a bit. Did great for a 12 days in back country elk hunt and used it again in KY for deer hunting. Climbs like a mule. The gun rack is now gone. So I'm good for now in LA. LOL
TSS/Bismuth Duplex what is the weight of a grain of bismuth apart from tss
5/8oz of bizmuth 4/8oz tss 1 1/8oz.
I have a century-old Greener 28 gauge shotgun, external hammers. The British proof marks indicates to not exceed 5/8 oz. Any suggestion?
