The new one looks like a throwback to older generation styling but modernized. I like it, looking forward to seeing what they do with other models in the future.
IMO the 2025 looks way better. The front grill is larger, more modern.

Agree. I actually saw a new one a couple days ago and in real life it does look better.
I drove both and I think the 25 is way better in every way (power, ride, sound, comfort, tech)! I ordered a Touring.

I had an Outback Touring as a rental for a week and liked it a lot more than anything from Toyota, Honda or Nissan in the $30-40k price range. Now I’m considering the 2025 Forester. The only thing I didn’t like was how firm the ventilated seats were in the Outback Touring.
I have a 2023 Forester Touring Hybrid. The new 2025 seems better in all aspects and looks great. I will change it as soosn as I can. And, as far as I see, there is no CD player in 2025, which is not very important.
My '23 has the cd player!
Yesterday took delivery of a 2025 Subaru Forester Touring moving from a 2018 Subaru Forester Limited. So far the transition is moving forward except having difficulty connecting garage door opener function to HOMELINK.

My neighbor got one as well and I think it looks great. I have a 24 Outback, but I really like the new Forester especially in real life it looks much better.

How’s the road noise difference? Does it drive less truck like compared to your 2018?
The ‘25 looks like an explorer and a rav4 had a love child.
The way the 2.5L equipped Subarus drive, they don’t feel at all slow or underpowered to me. I don’t know what the fuss is about. But if the torque curve makes the ‘25 drive better that’s all to the good. I have a 2018 Outback touring which is pre-SGP update.
can you compare the old base to the new base model? my grandparents might want to see the base model because they dont wont anything too fancy.
The 25 model definitely looks great. What color was that???

Diarrhea green.
I think Ford may have done a better style job in 2015 -- pretty close. It could be that I only experienced the dark gray metallic, and it just looked drab as can be in the base model. Could be a brighter color is needed, as there in no a speck of chrome. As for the interior, I was not too impressed. Maybe the Premium or Sport will be less blah? The Base in blue might jazz up the exterior some. The Sport is priced like a Venza, or CRV hybrids. For off the road travel -- snow, I get it, it will be superior, but around here they never get much more than dust on them. With the price now exceeding the Outback, we may have a problem. Let the discounting begin.
I think the touring trim has the nicer door cards and dash material. At least it did in the Outback Touring rental I had with the same infotainment screen as the 2025 Forester.
Insane cars Ben !! ❤❤
Loving the new one!
For me the back looked better on the 2024. More minimal without that bar going between the rear lights.
Would like for gas tank filler door was on drivers side.
Subaru could get 200 HP out of the 2.5, they really need to.
The front seats have changed. The ‘25 has wider, deeper bolsters, which provide more hugging of the body. I liked them, but my wife found them too narrow. We’re buying for her so we’re on to a different car entirely.
Do you think the visibility is the same in 2025? Or the windows are a bit smaller?

Similar
My 2016 CRV had a weird double infotainment screen setup as well…with redundant info. I loved my 1999 CRV but never liked my 2016.
I have a 22 Forester Wilderness. Amazing but for the engine. Even with better gearing Subaru says reliable but I think cost cutting. It’s slow on my third and love it but I’d like another thirty horses please if you want me to buy a 4th

2018 forester XT or a new Outback XT are your best options for a daily with power to merge and pass slower cars.
The old one had softer seats and more comfortable ride.
I like Subaru, CVT not bad except the engine noise, especially when outside temperature below 30F.
I like the new one better, don't know why, but it reminds me a lot the first gen forester. Same boxy shape with huge windows, with low shoulder line
Actually, I like the 2 screen better. I have a 22 limited Ascent and my husband would go nuts with that big screen. Our first cars were from the 60s and 70s so no computers. So my 22 ascent is enough. I also have a CD player built in. The 23 doesn’t.
The power seems a bit anemic for an AWD. Hopefully more engine options are coming.
The changes are minimal. I’ll consider a Forester again if they ever bring out a hybrid with more available power than the ICE model.
Way cleaner exterior design on the new one. I prefer the interior of the old one.
As an owner of a 2019, Forester touring, hear me clearly Subaru: get those USELESS 19 inch wheels off that new Touring trim! The tires do not have enough sidewall. In fact, even your 18 inch tire needs to be a 60 aspect ratio and not 55. I have 2 bent wheels and had to replace 3 studs on those 18s.!! I replaced the OEMs with a bigger size and it’s been fine. Now you’ve made it worse and gave them even LESS sidewall! Lay off the bling and get back to more function and practicality.

Do you think 17 are the best option? I wanted the Sport but the wheels are too big ;) maybe more for a man but not a female. And the limited is a little too much $ for the difference for 18 inch.
I think both are "meh" ... my wife has a 2020 Forester Sport ... my complaints in no particular order ... the 2.5 boxer is crude/unrefined ... MPG is at best average (could be better) ... the auto start/stop shakes the entire car on startup ... either the brakes or the CVT are starting to act weird almost as if the CVT hangs in neutral too long or the brakes are releasing which at times gives the impression of the car "speeding up" on deceleration ... I don't think I have to buy another!
Is the 11.6" screen on the '25 covered by a good warranty?

It’s a screen… it shouldn’t be crazy $$ to replace.
Should be called Subaru Forester Ford Explorer edition
In 2023 I bought a Subaru Forester Limited with the option package that included the then larger infotainment screen and the enhanced Harmon Karmon audio with subwoofer. As some else has noted, the car came with a CD player, which was important to me, and it has physical buttons for controlling many functions which is also important to me. I am happy with this car. The new model Forester looks too much like a Ford Explorer.
I take the the new Subaru it looks good in green
think the 2025 forester is better then the 2024 Forester
I think older model looks better.
For someone who wants a no nonsense crossover, this is exactly what I want. The other pick would be a cx5 or CRV

No way
I have a 2020 Forester Limited. Nothing about the new 2025 excites me enough to want to buy a new one. I'll have to wait another 5 years for their new design.
They're getting worse.
First 😂

So ?
A larger vehicle with essentially the same engine is not a formula for success. Sorry Subaru, but it did get worse.

It’s not really much bigger. I think less than an inch bigger in every dimension.
Try not Slurring your words. I miss much of what you are saying.
