that auto start stop has been proven to be absolutely useless and even detrimental to emissions besides being dangerous in real life driving when making a left turn across traffic

I don't find it to be a bother. I've gotten used to it. There are times when I am surprised that it doesn't stop the engine. I haven't thought enough about it to determine what the parameters are. Plus it can always be defeated with the switch on the dashboard. The purpose of this is to reduce emissions. As the engine is stopped, I can't see how that is detrimental to emissions.

I dislike the Dead-Then-Shocked-To-Life feel... I always believed "stop n go city-traffic" was the worst for cars, and here's we've got the ultra-version stop-go: stop, die, roar to life, go.

Auto start stop is the worst thing ever invented for cars. It serves no purpose and the fuel saving is negligible. I turn mine off every time I start my car. Hopefully the manufacturer puts in a stronger starter and better battery to deal with the extra times the engine turns off and back on. Also how is the engine not prone to excessive wear due to oil pressure going down when it shuts off and then back up when it turns on?

For auto Start-Stop Subaru has single customized option - "Turn signal ON stop prohibition". But default setting value is Permit (Auto Start Stop is activated even when the turn signal is operating). If you really need to Auto Start Stop is not activated when the turn signal is operating - you need go to dealer to set value Prohibit for this option.

I still prefer my spec order ‘24 Forester. A boxy body with a boxer engine. 2 less HP, and 2 more torque was never gonna be a deal breaker for me. Everyone wants a turbo on these things. Why?? They aren’t built for straight line speeds. Turbo is nice for that extra grunt if you get stuck or when you take these things off the beaten path. I just feel a bit disappointed. They made the Forester more civilized for lofting around town or grocery shopping as opposed to having that look and feel of doing both shopping and off roading (depending on who you ask). The WRX steering, Um, ok. I don’t have any issue with my steering in mine. If the Base model ‘25 came with the 8” touch screen as the sole radio and you have the option to spec it from factory with the optional tweeters like you could in the ‘24, then I might have gave it a second look. The crosstrek center console is ok’ish. I still prefer mine in my ‘24. If I was to get a new ‘25, it would be the premium. It’s kinda like getting a nicely optioned up ‘24 as opposed to what you don’t get in the base model ‘25. And the extra $2000 starting price for the base model (for to me ) lazy styling both inside and out and few optional features that you could get in ‘24 that you can’t get this year doesn’t justify me getting a base model ‘25. The ‘25 premium should be the “NEW” base model starting @ 30K. But still, the base models will still be the model leader followed closely by the premium. The ‘25 “Sport” model should be the new ‘25 Wilderness IMO. Looking forward to ‘25 with the inclusion of a hybrid power plant sourced from Toyota. Wonder how 2 great car makers with great engine power plants are gonna make this work. Happy shopping everyone!✌🏼

upside down cup holders would be a good place for optional trunk lighting as the one in the hatch is totally useless ...lights on the side wall where the rope tie downs are would be an ideal location as the one in the tail gate is blocked by your body when you are loading or unloading

Can you roll down the front windows and get a tape-measure to measure mirror-to-mirror measurement? That's handy for garage-width. The next 'garage measurement' should be car-width-with-one-door-open... this lets drivers get into a garage (mirrors allowing!) AND opening at least one side's car doors.

If you take the badges off most of these crossovers they all look the same. Yet, none of them are all that great, nor justify the ridiculous prices. Have to say that at least Subaru for the most part has kept their prices somewhat more reasonable than every other automaker. I just hope they aren't discontinuing the Wilderness models, I'd love a Forester Wilderness....since its just me I don't need a larger car, but the extra bit of ground clearance and the programming for the AWD is a great deal for the random winters we get here in Idaho. I just can't afford the payments on one so its gonna be a while LOL.

As with every vehicle out there anymore. The 24 year old pickup I have has more than enough standard features in it, although I wish it didn't have power windows/locks....the locks already don't work in it, and power windows suck too when things start to go wrong...I've never had an old manual crank window fail....several power window related failures though. I don't care for the electric shift 4WD either....old school lever was a failsafe, pull it and it was in 4WD...the electric shit makes you wonder all the time if its actually in 4WD or not. I don't care for all the stupid touch screen crap either, major failures to happen with that since everything is controlled through that in most vehicles now....the factory radios in most vehicles suck to begin with...putting that touch screen shit in everything keeps owners from being able to replace the stereo with something that actually works right.
