Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Genesis has already surpassed all U.S. and Japanese car brands in both emotional and technical aspects. Perhaps, considering the price, you can directly compete with German luxury car brands and get satisfaction similar to Mercedes-Benz and Bmw. If you look at a few cheap Hyundai Kia cars and judge a Genesis car, it is nonsense. The person who delivers more than 8,000 cars a year made in Germany, the U.S., Japan, Korea, and France is being honest. Recently, Hyundai Kia Motors is more comfortable and less broken than Toyota, Honda and Nissan, and Genesis cannot be compared to American or Japanese brands except Mercedes Benz and BMW. If you are brainwashed into Toyota's durability myth and Audi's German brand image, try driving about 10 Genesis.

Oh, the Korean fanbois are so funny 🤣 The weighted average of the reliability rankings from Consumer Reports for the last 5 years: #1 Lexus, #2 Toyota, #3 Mazda, #4 Honda, #5 Acura, ... #8 Porsche, #11 BMW (#9 last year), #18 Genesis (#18 LY), #21 Mercedes (#29 last year). It's even funnier with the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for 15 years in the USA: #1 Toyota ~10k, #2 Mitsubishi ~13k, #3 Lexus ~13k, #4 Honda ~ 14k, #5 Mazda ~14k... #20 Genesis ~22k, #27 Mercedes ~26k, #31 BMW (Bring My Wallet) ~30k, #32 Porsche ~33k! Good luck with Mercedes, BMW! True, Genesis is better than most of the German luxury brands, but very far away from Lexus.

@@light-light, let's suppose you are right. But for the smart buyers there are far more important parameters like the reliability, low TCO and number of recalls (overall giving the resale value, far better for the Japanese vs. Koreans), thus Lexus is #1 and Genesis #18 🤣 Then, let's talk about the design and let me educate you, as I am a designer and my firm is pioneering active houses' concept: Lexus got some Red Dot design awards, while Genesis is just exhibiting opulence (very appreciated by snowflakes and uneducated buyers). I do understand that you are a Korean fanboi, but you should understand that you are in a conflict of interest and that the truth is against you.

Oh, I am sure Hyundai/Kia/Genesis did not cause their cars' brakes to fail and cause many people to die. I am sure Hyundai/Kia/Genesis did not falsify their safety results. It is not always about Consumer Reports; it is about those who use their brains and go for the right brand, which is Genesis. Seriously, go look at every rating out there, even the reputable Car and Driver rates Lexus cars so low, and Genesis cars are always three to one in their rankings. AND, Genesis isn't even a decade old. Lexus is occasionally not even in the top five. Seriously, reliability for what? Sacrificing the best of the modern world for less. It's amusing to see how easily people turn a blind eye and go with the flow. It's smart to occasionally try something else.

Yes. Korean clunkers are better than the German ones. But they are still unreliable and have big ownership costs, especially after the warranty period. There is no comparison to Lexus (#1 reliable auto brand), with a #3 low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) - unbeatable in the luxury segment.

Unfortunately Genesis is only slightly better than the German luxury clunkers. There is no comparison to Lexus, the most reliable auto brand. Thus, adding the low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) #3 ranking, Lexus has the best luxury cars - confirmed by the lowest depreciation in the luxury segments, unlike this Korean brand (it's not in the Top 10 reliability nor Low TCO).

Genesis is much more reliable than German brands? Yes, but compared to Lexus, it's hit or miss. Their models are still relatively new, so they still have a long way to go before they determine which component is best. The vehicle shown here, the GV80, was only launched in 2020 (as far as I can remember), so it's been four years since this car was launched, and this is the first refresh this car has gotten in that time.

We own a 22 GV70 3.5TT Sport/Prestige. It has 35.5k miles on it after 2.5 years and while we love it, it has had a few failures including one towed trip to replace an oil sender (CVV or CBB at 6k miles). The car is a joy to drive; however, dealership support is abysmal. Until Genesis separates all its Genesis dealerships from Hyundai dealerships, they will have upset luxury car owners being treated as Hyundai owners.

Great review Lauren! Korean ‘chic’ is a bit heavy on tchotchke embellishments on the exterior, as well as the interior with the quilting etc. I think a touch of restraint would go along way with GV80. I would love to see a sport version of this model where the exterior trim bits are toned down or painted to match. The wheels and overall proportions are spot on, but that double fender trim/light thingy is just too…much. Reminds me of the Import Car Club vibe from the 80’s and 90’s, where the only things missing are the triple-windshield wiper blades and sun visor club sticker!

Nowadays I drive 3 Japanese cars: a Lexus hybrid, a Miata ND2 and a Jimny LCV. Go ahead and buy a Genesis and tell me in less than 5 years what a dumb decision that was. My Lexus is the most reliable car in that segment, it has #3 low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) after Toyota and Mazda, but very close to them.
