I have a crush on Mari ❤🎉

I was really hoping they would've kept the rear tail lights and headlights from the concept. They were the defining exterior features and really set the Coupe apart.

Genesis has arrived man i love it

You hit the nail on the head, Mari. The different Genesis cars I have driven all share that lovely quiet, comfortable ride. It's relaxing. I don't want to drive a sports car on the public road - I want a comfortable, luxurious drive. Genesis does that for me.

First and foremost, let's get into how AMAZING Mari looks. Her fashion is ALWAYS in point. ❤❤ but the GV80 coupé is a nice sporty edition to to genesis lineup.

Genesis is making great vehicles. I have a 2023 Kia Sportage X-Pro, definitely different levels but in the same family and the quality & comfort are shared. 👍🏾🥇

Congratulations, for me Hyundai and Kia is the best vehicle, the best company greeting from Macedonia 🇲🇰👋

I love that this can come with heated and ventilated front AND rear seats and a digital rear view mirror camera. I don't know of any other vehicle that has that.

The lexus rx500h has heated and cool front and rear seat. Doesn't have the digital review mirror tho.

Good video. Saw this at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week. IMO the style will age well. Vehicles with a round theme stand the test of time.

Thank you for the lovely review. Very helpful. Regarding the pronunciation, if coupé is spelled with the accent mark, then COUPAY is appropriate. But with no accent mark, it is pronounced COOP. Also, with the accent mark, the the emphasis should be placed on the first syllable, not the second. So the correct French pronunciation would be COO-pay, not coo-PAY. As Genesis has presented this vehicle, it is the GV80 Coop, and it looks pretty awesome!

I was sold off the concept version, it was very distinctive and the design cues was on point for a sportier looking SUV

Mari great review of my new GV80 Coupe lol. Can’t wait until the ordering process begins in the USA. Mari you were right i would prefer the Silver one with the orange seatbelts and stiching this black one is not doing it for me.

It's subtle but they ruined the aggressive stance of the concept. If you compare the profile of the production against the concept, you can see they softened the pitch of all the key design lines (windshield, hood, roof, rear window and spoiler). The result is it appears visually lower and flatter which totally mutes the beefy and aggressive stance of the concept. It's nice but looks totally vanilla now.

What a wonderful car, unfortunately we don't have the Genesis brand here in Portugal.

Both of them look amazing, but as for me, I would buy the GV80 over the Gv80 Cope. More room for my use

Hi Mari, good review on this nice ride. It would have been cool if they made it closer to the concept version or have a sport mode that drops it lower over those massive wheels. I remember my 2005 VW Touareg with the air suspension had a sport mode which made it so low, compared to the standard ride height and of course, there was also an off-road mode that gave it a nice lift over the standard mode. Back then, they were riding on 19" wheels. My '21 e-tron had a similar setup but, didn't go as low or as high as the Touareg. This GV80 Coupe on 22" wheels would look better if the body was lowered a bit more and those brakes seems small for this vehicle. Guess we will have to wait for the sporty version to come out with air suspension which will allow multiple ride heights, if Genesis decided to go that route. Mari, any idea if they will make an EV version of this?

Sport mode would be great

The concept car was a hatchback. I like it anyway. Most concept cars are changed when they come to market, so I wasn't expecting it to look the same anyway.

Do you have any idea when the new facelifted/refreshed Tucson is gonna be released and be out in the Korean market?

Allow me to indicate the difference between coupe and coupé. The term is French origin. The coupe usually refers to a kind of glass in which Champagne is the best appropriated liquid. While the coupé refers to a clear cut - for example - on a design. The most obvious correct word for this beautiful car design is coupé. But whatever people use one of the two terms as long as they cherish this car remains the most important I believe… Cordialement

YES!

If the word comes from a particular country or language and they pronounce it a specific way, you gotta pronounce it the same way. It's a French word. "Coup" is a place to keep chickens. The main diff btwn the concept and the market ready version is wheels, tires and stance. The rear light isn't too big a deal and the other things can be fixed with after market replacements🤷🏽‍♂️

It's INSANE to place a license plate right in the middle of that fantastic grille. The plate should mount on the lower trim piece, below the front electronic array. That's where mine is going.

Yep, I'm curious about that too. This was one of the more criticized things about the previous model (not the coupe). I hope they fixed it and AA and AP are now wireless. This is a dealbreaker for me.

It kind of feels like there are tradeoffs in many areas just for the coupe design. This is for the bachelor or someone who might have kids and they can use this for utility in the future, but otherwise most of the tradeoff of the coupe is that it just looks cool.

We want to see the seats fold completely. So don't cut the video until they're all the way down. People need to know if they fold completely flat or not. Same thing with sunroofs.

This almost literally is like my 2004 Infiniti fx50 . Of course without as much of the tech

First off mess it has 409 brake horsepower not 415 second off a thicker steering wheel represents the more sporty vehicle. Not sure where you’re getting your fax from.

Its weird when I heard she called it " coopay " even tho that is the right way to call coupe'. In U.S. it just " coop ".

Coupe is not the right way to say it. The E at the end is silent in French in this word without the accent on the E like " É "

I am not impressed with the actual design. The concept had me blown away. Just like when they introduced the GV 70 & GV 80 SUV The concept made headlines but the final product was meh.

This coupé has a lot of potential to be more than what it is presently Genesis can have a special version of this coupé with some "N" treatment and a more powerful 3.5L turbo plus electric S/C engine although the future is electrification reintroducing the tried and true 5.0 v8 as a hybrid or with a turbo or even the electrified s/c setup just like the 3.5 will be in my view marked as one most attractive offering in its class because there is a great number of consumers who will prefer a hybrid vehicle than a full electric one.

The concept was much better. I don't know why, but they look like two different cars

Totally agree. It's subtle but they softened the pitch of all the key lines (hood, windshield, roof, rear deck and even spoiler) so now it doesn't have an aggressive stance and looks like a mom coupe.

Most manufacturers call coupe versions of SUVs SAVs. And based on your comments around 17:00, you have completely missed the mark. You clearly don't understand the market.
