4runner is trying to create a market for those buyers who wants to buy something for life time and doesn't look outdated with the years, like the Wrangler in jeeps.❤
I just bought one. Should have it this weekend. That color is beautiful. Been waiting for that last model year for the iconic 5th gen. People will be begging for these to come back in 10 years and the value will skyrocket while everyone else will be driving their crap EVs.

Sadly it will the same as with film cameras now. Your 4Runner will have almost no use in2034. The main reason being very hard to find gas and extremely expensive in 2034.

Jeff, Is the classic Nautical Blue still available for this classic 4Runner for 2024? 🤔
Great kick Jeff lol
I still love my 2020 limited😊.
Its funny how people say its outdated. I like to know what options they are talking about. Limited is the perfect vehicle for my wife especially in Winter. Great ground clearance is one of the items why she got 4Runner over a GX460. As for the powertrain I really love it, no gear hunting transmission, no turbos, no cylinder deactivation, no clutch based AWD system, port + direct injection (so no carbon build up), so much more. Made in the Tahara factory tell so much about it. Or may be that 1GR-FE even available in big Land cruiser 300, 200, Land cruiser 70, Land cruiser Prado, Lexus GX outside USA tells even more. I love the 3rd row, its very useful to me when our parents come or my kiddos friends. Automatic running boards a big help to our parents as well. If Toyota stops power rear glass my dog will be very unhappy. There is sooo many things that 4Runners best suite our family.

Here’s are the features as of today 4Runner has which I thought it’s not outdated. LED automatic headlights with auto high and low beams, heated and ventilated seats, occupancy alert including rear seats, heated steering, automatic dual hvac system, windshield heating elements, all auto glasses including rear glass, automatic running boards, JBL sound system with Apple car play, android auto head unit, Blind Spot Monitor, Cross-Traffic Alert, Front and rear parking sensors, Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, 360 camera. Connected services like emergency calling, lost vehicle locator or even the mobile app is very decent with features from remote start to smaller things like door lock status, window status, fuel range, tire pressure, etc.. Even very nice offroad tech like 2.5 diameter fox shocks, automatic sway bar disconnect system KDSS, crawl control, diff locks, terrain management,…

I just want to clarify one thing you wrote. The version of 1GR-FE V6 in the current model of the 4Runner does not have any direct fuel injection, only port. That’s a good thing, no carbon fouling at all to worry if the direct + port system doesn’t work as intended. Drive happy!
@LionRunner

@@jamespindera3401 Thanks for the correction, I just checked CarCareNut technical review. Looks like Toyota website they have it wrong "Electronic, with Toyota Direct Ignition (TDI)". TDI = port + direct. CareCareNut explained that its port only. That is fantastic.

Agreed. Car would be great with HD resolution. Also current infotainment software with wireless carplay would be great. The screen, isn't too bad. They could make it bigger by moving the knobs to the left and moving the buttons to above and below the screen. This would also bring buttons closer to the driver that are on your far right. I would also remove the track and seek button as the knob works fine. And put a back and carplay button there. Heated steering button should be moved to the live view button. And live view button moved to right below the center console where your right arm rest. Then the car could be perfect lol
These have wireless apple carplay?

There is nothing wrong with it like it is. That's why they sell hand over fist still after 14 years. One of those cars where you can't tell if it's a 2024 or a 2014. I don't really mind the traditional look though.
The 20 inch wheels suck and keeping the venerable V6 or V8 motor option is way more practical than some 4 banger Woke motor… And should have power lift gate considering the actual cost of the Limited 4runner
Why won’t they changed the center console. Literally looks like 2002.
Update the freaking tech! I'm holding out for updated tech.
2015 LTD here, nautical blue, 195k miles. After seeing the 2025 (that hideous engine!) I'm seriously considering buying a 2024 LTD instead. However I may have to keep mine- it still has the CD player and it looks like it's gone on the 2024. That sucks. But the no payments thing? That doesn't suck! 300k+ miles here we come.

Toyota sure is showing contempt for its customers keeping this thing on the market. When this iteration of 4Runner was released, Obama was president. The iPad had not been invented yet. 17 mpg from a V6 that has slower acceleration than most 4 cylinder cars and a 5-speed automatic transmission, in the year 2023? There is simply no excuse for that. Sometimes old just means old, folks!
@jamespindera3401

I respectfully disagree. Those people buying a 4Runner know what they’re getting. You see an old engine lacking in power and efficiency. We see a battle hardened machine with reliability that will shame the next gen’s overstressed turbo engines. The same goes for the 5 speed. Bulletproof. We accept the limitations for the toughness they provide. 4Runner is for everyone, the Grand Highlander is a better choice for most, especially on paper, but it won’t outlast its older brother.

I admit I’m not impressed with the power train but you don’t buy a 4Runner for performance or fuel efficiency. You buy it to get hundreds of thousands of miles of reliability. That being said I was hoping Toyota would equip the upcoming 6th gen with their 3.5v6 snd 8 speed auto and was disappointed when they announced the 4cyl hybrid engine. I’m strongly considering buying one of these 5th generations simply because of how bulletproof this thing is.

It has rugged great looks as well. If Toyota would solve the aforementioned problems I would definitely look at buying one. Keep the 4.0 V6 and put on twin turbos.
